  1. Taswell and marius thanks for the info! Mark I am super confused by your post. What i try to accomplish is a DIY project with me using an old pc to turn into an arcade machine. Your post failed to provide me with any useful information. I want a DIY project, as said in title, if I wanted a ready cabinet I wouldn't be posting here. If you have any of those howtos on Youtube please send a link. I haven't found yet any informative one.
  2. Hello Everyone. As from the title, I want to build an arcade emulator. However, I do not want to build the Cabinet itself right now. I want first to build the core, the machine itself. What I have: an old pc (windows 10) working nice and smoothly! Internet connection to download anything I have to, some money to buy a joystick or two and any necessary cables. What I want to do is: When I power the PC i want it to load the emulator and there I can navigate nicely to whatever game I can play! I wish to do this with MAME (i doubt I can do that with WinUAE, but if yes that is awesome). Anyone here who has done this, or has a nice tutorial with quite a bit of details and clear steps I would love to hear about it! Thank you! P.S: I watched the video from Linus, but that was more like a journey of how they did it, not an actual tutorial.
  3. Hello everyone, I have been looking for also a work laptop, (i have another post with parts for a desktop one). Specifically I am looking for a laptop that is able to do Blackboard (e-learning), MS Office, Good smooth internet browsing, and able to cope with online live classes (e-learning). This is a strictly work laptop, so no gaming and other stuff...just Youtubing for fun. Budget would say, cheap: 500$ tops. (but can work-around it) Thank you kindly,
  4. WOW, thank you so much for the details!!
  5. Hello Everyone, I am building a new work pc and I would really need some advice cause I am kinda lost since I haven't been able to follow on the developments . I am looking to build a work pc: this is a pc that will do stuff like: MS Office, BlackBoard (an online e-learning software), emails, and pdf reading (and some youtube: watching only). My budget is good for up to total cost of up to 500£ approx. This is the computer case I am using (amazon.co.uk) What I have been thinking is to get a good processor (I want all software to run as fast as possible) and 8GB RAM, add a SSD, and for graphics card I would really want something of extreme basics (same for sound card): like the Intel Graphics 5500 that my laptop has. Is something similar for desktops? Do you have any parts to recommend? I am very capable of dismantling and setting up any pc: I have quite some experience. Thank you kindly for any suggestions.
