  1. Hello. I'm looking to record gameplay. I can record using OBS and get decent quality with not much hit to my game performance. 5900x 64GB 3080ti But I'm looking to record the best possible quality on a single machine would the purchase of a capture card allow me to do this? Any recommendations for a high quality capture card? What would the setup process be like? Thanks!
  2. As per advice the new parts list PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mL2vy4 CPU: 5900X CPU Cooler: MSI MAG CORE LIQUID 360R 78.73 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: MSI MPG B550 GAMING CARBON WIFI ATX AM4 Motherboard Memory: Crucial Ballistix 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory Storage: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Storage: Samsung 860 Evo 2 TB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive Video Card: MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 12 GB GAMING X TRIO Video Card Case: MSI MPG GUNGNIR 111M ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: MSI 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Thinking it would be best to install 360 rad in front and the rest of the case fans to be exhaust. A little concerned being that I will need to move the hard drive bay reducing the space for my power supply and cables but i'm thinking/hoping it will be ok
  3. Awesome I appreciate the info. Any recommendations on any 4th gen SSD's? The Samsung 980 Pro 500GB ( $119 ) I have in my parts list is just going to be my boot drive (Windows ) I looked around and saw that I could possibly get a 1GB drive with other brands for just a bit more. ( I was looking at the Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB ( $149 ) I'm hoping the cpu cooler MSI MAG CORE LIQUID 240R is sufficient, I'll try to find some reviews on it. In all honesty I was just hoping it would be an easier build as supposed to placing the 360 rad on the intake. I also had a few concerns as how to orient the fans as intake or exhaust. ( Ex. If I place the 240 rad at the top of the case pulling fresh air in. I would only have 1 exhaust fan. )
  4. Yes my wallet is not a fan of me at the moment lol I appreciate the advice on the motherboard. I was also looking at the MSI MPG B550 GAMING CARBON WIFI (looks a bit more attractive as it also has more USB ports) This is the new parts list. I came up with.... Decided I should spring for new storage and psu. So a bit out of budget but should be fine..... any advice and criticism is apperciated PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/T2VVK3 CPU: 5900X CPU Cooler: MSI MAG CORE LIQUID 240R 78.73 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: MSI MPG B550 GAMING CARBON WIFI ATX AM4 Motherboard Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Storage: Samsung 870 Evo 2 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive Video Card: MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 12 GB GAMING X TRIO Video Card Case: *MSI MPG GUNGNIR 111M ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: MSI 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
  5. Budget (including currency): $500 - $700 This is budget not including CPU,GPU,PSU Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly gaming including VR (Valve Index) and music production PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6ZkQW3 CPU Cooler: MSI MAG CORE LIQUID 240R 78.73 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler - Is Cpu cooler adequate? Motherboard: MSI MPG B550 GAMING EDGE WIFI ATX AM4 Motherboard - Is motherboard a good choice ( MSI ) ( concerned about USB connectivity issues with Ryzen ) Memory: G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory ( I'm thinking this is an OK choice ) Case: ????? (Recommendations?) ( need to be able to house 1 SSD and 2 3.5 HDD) Not too expensive but not cheap either. I would like something that's easy to build in but not a huge boat. Smaller is better. With a Side window So the 2 hardest parts to get your hand on CPU and GPU after months I finally got my hands on. GPU is already in hand and CPU should hopefully be on the way soon. Being that I got a MSI 3080ti I kind of wanted to go for an all MSI build. Main Concerns - Is Cpu cooler adequate? - Is motherboard a good choice ( MSI ) - I need recommendations on a nice case... Not too expensive but not cheap either. I would like something that's easy to build in but not a huge boat. Smaller is better. Notes I'm taking my Storage (1 SSD, 2 3.5 HDD) and PSU from my previous build into the new one for the mean time.
  6. Thanks for everything guys. I was originally going to go the VM route but I will be doing some task on both OS's where performance is desired. So i decided to go this route. I probably will go the same route as Racer_188 and use the boot select menu. I'm thinking there is a key to press during boot that will bring the selection menu up. I will have to look into that more. But thanks I'm pleased that I should be able to do what I intended
  7. I currently have Windows 10 installed on my 128GB SSD (C:) and install my software and downloads are located on my 1TB HDD (D:) I would like to purchase another drive (E:) and install Windows 10 on it as well. Can I used my same license since it's the same PC and be able to switch between each OS at will? Also if possible I would like each OS to not recognize the other drive that has an OS installed. So (C:) can only see (D:) and (E:) can only see (D:)
  8. Source: http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/253722 I'm not a sneaker head or anything. But when I saw this it caught my eye. I was curious what the asking price for something like this was and to my surprise it was reasonable starting at $150. I was a bit discouraged to see that this was being funded on Indiegogo though. I never participated in any crowd funding affairs and are hesitant after seeing many products never get to see the light of day. But I am considering giving it a go I think it would be so cool to turn heads with a pair of these. -taveric
  9. Darn I ordered something today in a hurry and forgot to use the link... I've failed you linus!!!
  10. After reading your advice in regards to what features are most important to me as well as researching these boards further, I was able to make my choice which will be the ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO. Thank you very much as I am one step closer to deciding what my build will be. I do have another few questions pertaining to what would be the optimal ram for the cpu/mobo combo, which is a 4770k and hero. I can't decide if i should go with vengance pro or trident x ram. Also is liquid cooling with a H100i idea? and finally will these components fit properly in a Fractal design R4 This will be my first build and I'm and excited and nervous at the same time. I've been watching a bit of Linus on youtube recently and I think he's great and so far the community on this website has been great. So any continued input is much appreciated
  11. I'm having trouble on deciding on which board will be best for my next build. I'm torn between the... 1. ASUS Z87-PRO 2. ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO 3. ASUS SABERTOOTH Z87 If you could let me which would be a preference and why and If you think another board would be preferential to these please do tell and why. Thank you any help is appreciated.
  12. Hello I'm new here. I'm not sure where is the proper place to post this but my question is related to a new build. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2PPV8 Above is a link to PC part picker. I'm looking for advice on this build such as would you recommend any changes within this price range. The rig is going to be used for primarily gaming. Ty
