Okay so kinda lame update just in case anyone is watching this, but the parts have slowly been arriving and as of today I've now got everything together. I did change the GPU, I picked an EVGA RTX 2080 XC ULTRA with a Hydro Copper waterblock. I also decided to use some leather-ish fabric to line the interior since I took out the foam, and I think it'll look cool. Unfortunately I haven't had the time to start cutting holes in the actual case. Likely will start with the actual work on Monday.

So for the last few weeks, I've been thinking about just what I should bring to the BYOC at LTX this year. I was thinking about this one morning while scrolling through Reddit, and I saw this post showing off a PC built in a briefcase by u/Garretttheman012. And that is where my inspiration came from. I messaged him, and he was happy to help me with some questions I had. I aimed to improve upon his idea with some custom watercooling and a display inside the top lid of the briefcase. For the briefcase itself, I chose the vestil case 1814, for the nice look it had on the outside, and easily modded inside. Next, I decided to go with mostly parts I already had; i5 8600k, Asus Z370-i ITX, 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance LED White, EVGA GTX 1070 Ti FTW2, Intel 600p 512GB m.2 nvme, and Corsair SF600. No storage drives so I wouldn't have to worry about space constraints. For cooling, I picked a 120mm radiator and cpu block from EKWB, some bitspower fittings, and an xspc pump/res combo. Going with soft tubing for this one just for ease of access. I received the case yesterday, and began by tearing out the foam in the bottom. Decided to go with custom cut acrylic (black? haven't picked yet) to replace the foam in the bottom. Foam in the top stays. Salvaged a motherboard tray from my old Thermaltake Core V1 and a GPU bracket and riser from one of my Dad's old cases. Threw an NH-L9i on until I get the watercooling parts together. Cablemod cables get here tomorrow, will start with some test fitting and maybe begin cutting out spots for a power button/usb ports and a psu plug. Will update then.

I've got a few questions - I bought a BYOC ticket, do I need to buy a 2 day pass too? I'm confused because on tixr the ticket is shown as only 'BYOC ticket' but on ltxexpo it shows the $80 ticket as BYOC + 2 day pass. Also, will monitors be provided at BYOC? Chairs? Peripherals? Not sure what I'm gonna need to bring besides the PC.

Hello, I'm planning to do custom watercooling in the node 202, looking for feedback on my ideas. To start, I'm not sure whether to use a mini GPU with a 120mm radiator or a normal sized GPU with a slim 240 and slim fans. Thoughts on this? The actual hardware isn't really decided yet, I have lots of parts and I could go either Intel or AMD. I do already have the case and an SF600 Gold, planning on custom ordering from cablemod for the exact cable lengths I'll need. I was also thinking of modding the top of the case and putting in a tempered glass panel so I can see inside. For this reason if I go with the mini gpu/120mm rad I'll probably need to custom cut a gpu backplate. For the pump/res I was thinking I could find a small res to fit in the corner behind the psu where 2.5" drives go (i'll use an m.2 for storage) and maybe one of those combo pump/cpu blocks. One thing that I know I don't want to do is have an external res, pump, or anything. I'd like to keep it all inside of the case. At this point I'm just at the drawing board, so any ideas or feedback is welcome. Thanks for taking a look.

Just got a great deal on an x99 combo, wondering what the best CPUs are for the platform? What is the best cost to performance? What is the best performance wise, ignoring the cost? The combo I've got is a Gigabyte X99-UD4 Motherboard, i7 5820k CPU, and 4x4GB G.Skill Ripjaws DDR4. Thinking about making a workstation for my friend with it, probably ditch the RAM and throw in a 64GB kit and maybe a 6950X? Not sure atm.

Any custom aircooler for the gou wouldn't fit in the nano s - and I already have all of these parts except the motherboard, so theres really no reason to not use what I already have

Forgot to add the radiator - planning on push/pull with a very thick 240mm rad that I have. Might add a 280 in the top if the temps aren't any good.

Hi, I’m looking for a good looking case for my build and I really can’t make a decision. I wish caselabs was still around :( I don’t really have a set budget for it, but I’d prefer to spend less. I’ve looked at the Caselabs SMA8, I love it but the few that are being sold are $1000+, one similar is the Lian Li V3000, and I have to say that one looks the most promising so far. I’d prefer to spend less and there doesn’t seem to be much feedback on it, so I’m not sure. I’m planning a custom watercooling build with threadripper. My motherboard is the Asus Prime X399-A, and the case needs to fit the EATX mobo, dual GPUs, and have enough room for several radiators and a tall resevoir. Any suggestions/advice is welcome.

Well I ended up with a cool looking X399 board so I had to do something with it. And its been like 3 months since I built my main PC so obviously I need a brand new one.

The 1950X is more expensive though and I doubt I'd notice a difference. I'd rather fill up all the RAM slots.

I'm planning on doing a threadripper build focused on aesthetic. Is high speed RAM going to make a difference with threadripper? Should I pick up 3000 over 2666? Planning to use Team's White RGB kit because it comes in 4GB sticks, so I can fill all 8 slots without spending too much, costs $300 for 8x4GB or 4 2x4GB kits. Is there any issue with me doing this? My board is an Asus Prime X399-A and I'm planning on using a 1920X or 1950X if I can find a good deal.
