  1. I don't mean to bump this, but it's really driving me nuts & I can't find any info searching online. As I said, my Win7 machine works fine. So would it be some crazy HDCP in Win10 issue? Would a HDMI adapter that ignores HDMI Handshakes be my best shot?
  2. If you have a bulging cap & don't replace it, the board is already useless for the long term. Let alone 24/7 use. As it will only be a (short) matter of time before it dies. And possibly perma-kills a component its connected to, making a saveable board not saveable.
  3. I do enjoy seeing PCs done in timber Really brings rig building into more of an art form. I personally am looking at finally getting around to building my 19th century styled machine. My drawer systems were a "proof-I-can-do-it" to myself.
  4. Technically yes. But it is more significant when the CPU is under-volted. And yes it is very safe.
  5. As we know, the term "new" is subjective to what it is perceived as (ala Ship Of Theseus). Having said that, in the context of PCs, my opinion/perspective of new is that of a complete system change. Case & all. Mainly due in part to my habit of not re-using parts for other machines. Pointless & expensive, yes, but it's my thing.
  6. It is always worth a try to save it. I've saved a few LGAs with just a dress pin & magnifying glass.
  7. I know this might seem straightforward enough, but when in the case, did you have only the minimum needed to POST plugged in? So no Power SW, RST SW, HDD LED, USB Headers, etc?
  8. Hello all. Specs: Ryzen 1300x GA-A320M-S2H RX560 GamingOC Rev.2 (Adrenalin Drivers 18.5.1) 16gb DDR4 2666 XG3 NVMe Win10 Pro Syncmaster 275T Resolution: 1920x1200 60Hz Problem: I get no display once graphics drivers have loaded, but audio remains working. (so display works during POST or in the cmos, and even the OS on Basic display adapter driver). This occurs ONLY when the HDMI is passed via my AV receiver (HTR-2067). A direct connection to monitor works fine. Also, I have another machine connected to the receiver that also loses its display once the machine in question loads to desktop. Even when I am using the HDMI channel of that machine while the other loads. As if it cancels all my HDMI ports on the receiver. To the best of my knowledge, my HDMI cables are basic. non-active types. The other machine running an A8-5500 on Win7 Pro has no issues. I have tried: - swapping cables - running different drivers
