  1. Hi. I'm a CS student and about to purchase my third monitor for my setup. However, I run a Ryzen 5 2400G setup with no GPU currently and with only two HDMI outputs. My idea was to buy a 1650 Super as the driver for the new monitor, so that it can also be used for occasional gaming. In this regard I wondered if it would be possible to run the two secondary monitors on my CPU (Slack, Browser windows) and run the new gaming monitor on the GPU or if it would be better to run everything on the GPU? The reason for asking is, that I can get a 1650 Super for around 220$ with DP, HDMI and DVI output. I don't want to use DVI though, so if I want a card that has 3 outputs consisting of only HDMI or DP I have to pay roughly 100-120$ more. (Thanks Denmark...) So obviously, I'd rather prefer the cheaper option if there's no serious drawback to this setup. Thanks.
  2. I took it a step further and did a complete reinstall of windows - Didn't work...
  3. I have the second newest version. A new bios update came out yesterday. But sure, I could try flashing the BIOS. I'll get back when I have the result of trying that. Update: Updating the BIOS didn't work. Still won't boot to Windows with SVM and Windows Hypervisor Platform enabled... This is the first time I've tried it, but I am able to boot up in failsafe condition. Don't know if that helps?
  4. Hi. I'm trying to install android studio along with their emulator for development purposes, which requires me to enable virtualization. I need to activate virtualization in my BIOS and enable Windows Hypervisor Platform under Windows Features. Here's the problem I'm facing: With virtualization enabled in BIOS and Windows Hypervisor Platform enabled, when I try to boot, I come to a windows screen saying it was unable to boot and asking if I want to analyze/reinstall. No error code. I've tried having Windows locate and fix possible errors, but it can't find any. My only option is to restart, go into the BIOS and disable SVM. Then it boots fine. Alternatively, I'm able to boot with SVM enabled as long as Windows Hypervisor Platform ain't enabled. It's an either-or case Things I've tried that didn't solve my issue: 1) Resetting BIOS to standard settings. 2) Trying only enabling IOMMU to see if it would start with that enabled along with Windows Hypervisor Platform enabled - Worked. When then enabling SVM, back to square one with no booting into Windows. 3) Enabling IOMMU and SVM, boot and then enable Windows Hypervisor Platform for then having to restart and face the same issues again. 4) Tried enabling Windows Hyper-V instead - Same problem. Been following this guide: https://android-developers.googleblog.com/2018/07/android-emulator-amd-processor-hyper-v.html How can I get this working so I can actually use Android Studio? Seems to work for so many other. Is it a BIOS issue or Windows issue? Hardware: Ryzen 2400G AsRock Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming-ITX/ac OS: Windows 10 Pro Thanks in advance for any help or guidance.
  5. Well, this got embarrassing pretty fast. You were right, just needed the driver for the APU... Appreciate it!
  6. Hi. I just assembled an ITX build with the Ryzen 2400G and the AsRock AB350 ITX motherboard - https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/Fatal1ty%20AB350%20Gaming-ITXac/index.asp I've flashed the bios to the newest version and installed a clean windows 10. Until an hour ago I only had one display attached to the motherboard and now that I tried attaching my second one to the HDMI 2 port on the motherboard, I get no signal. I've tried changing the cables to make sure the screen was working, and sure enough, display 2 comes to life when plugged into the HDMI 1 port, however, Display 1 goes black. I've also tried only connecting a display to the HDMI 2 port and still no success. Is there some kind of setting that I need to enable in either windows or the bios to enable two HDMI outputs from my Ryzen 2400G? or is there an error on the motherboard? Thanks in advance for your time.
  7. Hi. I bought an Inno3D 1060 6gb compact half a year ago and to be honest if it wasn't for the cheap price I bought it at, it would be one of the worst cards I could have bought. The performance is great an equal to the 1060's my friends have, but it only lasts for a few minutes, then the temperature sets in and it start thermal throttling. Average temp runs around 85-88 degree Celsius stock. Looking at the heatsink, it's no wonder that the cooler isn't performing well. It's just a rough block of aluminum. I've tried to change the thermal paste, but it didn't have any particular effect. I've also tried replacing the fan with the stock fan blade from AMD Ryzen 5 1600 stock cooler. The fit was very good and looked ok, but the performance didn't change at all. So I've come to the conclusion that I need another cooler for the GPU. I've come across this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ARCTIC-Accelero-Xtreme-VRM-Cooling-DCACO-V800001-GBA01/dp/B006DAD8HS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1529699201&sr=8-1&keywords=gtx%2B1060%2Bcooler&th=1 Would this be a suitable fit for my 1060 compact version? Don't know if there's any difference in the hole layout between then standard 1060 and the compact version? Better yet, would it be possible to fit a cheaper AIO directly to the card? I was thinking, that if only a CPU block of an AIO had the same hole layout, it might be possible to create a bracket for the back to hold the cooler in place. Tried finding some dimensions for various AIO CPU blocks but with no luck so far Any other recommendations for a well-suited cooler would be highly appreciated. I'm looking in the below 60 euro / 70 USD bracket. Thanks.
