That case is big compared to the one I had. I hadn't considered the 5800X though, it does looks to be a decent bit better than the one I had before. However would I have to upgrade the motherboard BIOS? I don't have any other Ryzen CPUs.

Why do you think the Lian Li is better than the NR200P? Is it just an aesthetic preference or is the cooling a bit better?

What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better. Going to be using it for gaming as well as video rendering (conversion more than editing stuff) If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings) 1080p is probably as high as I will go. I already own the GPU, so I'm not too concerned about the build from a gaming perspective. Would like to be able to get 144Hz, so as long as the CPU can handle that. In what country are you purchasing your parts? It will mainly be for gaming, as well as video rendering (not like editing premier pro things, moreso handbrake, avisynth, ffmpeg etc etc. I'm into "data hoarding" and a lot of that involves processing video files). I already own the RTX 2070. A few main points I'm not sure about: 1) Is the RAM okay? I remember when Ryzen first came out there was a lot of stuff about which RAM is best for it. Is "B Die" RAM supposed to be the best? 2) Which motherboard? I basically just picked a random one here to get a full build list. Does it makes any difference to the performance? (not planning on overclocking) 3) How is the NR200/P, is it a good case? Decent airflow? 4) Any other issues with the parts list I haven't noticed?

I am going off to Uni in a few months and need a portable laptop to use in classes taking notes and when I am out of my room. So a good keyboard is very important, as well as good battery life and excellent build quality. I am struggling a bit to find much on Amazon in this price range. It seems like there are loads of £200 shite laptops, and then loads of more expensive ones, but nothing in this middle range. The reason I would prefer to buy from amazon is that from what I've heard, they have a very good returns policy incase the laptop has backlight bleed issues on the screen. I would be open to buying from other places as long as I can return it if this is an issue (for example Argos should be alright) My budget is about £500-£600 and I would prefer a laptop smaller than 15 inches. Up until a few days ago I always had pretty stable internet. It isn't fast as I live in a rural area, but it's good enough, about 4.5MB/s. Recently however it's gone to shit, for lack of a better term. Now I only seem to get around 1.5MB/s max, and it fluctuates a lot, it will go from 300KB/s to 1.5MB/s and back again in less than a minute. Last night I tried using the 5GHz connection, and that solved the problem, however this morning that has now stopped working and I am getting the same problem on the 5GHz one. Is this likely to be an ISP problem (I'm in the UK and using BT)? As I haven't changed anything before it started happening, and it is happen on all PCs in my house.

Like would it really hurt, or just be a bit uncomfortable? I rub my eyes a lot, they often feel just like they have something in them, and it kindof "hurts" in the loosest sense of the word possible (i.e. it's really not "painful" more than just having something in your eye is), however it normally goes away after a few minutes if I don't rub my eye. I assume if you got battery stuff in your eye it wouldn't go away like that.

I get what you mean but I would argue they aren't strictly "losing money", as I doubt any Twitch Streamer or YouTube would bother getting a music licence, they would just use licence free music. If they are using it on purpose as background music then I can sympathise with the Music Label a tiny bit (still not much as they are a massive company versus an individual), but if it's just a case of the music being in a game, or being playing in a public place then they really shouldn't be claiming the videos.

Yeah I think copyright law wasn't really written for the internet age, it's a shame there are such powerful companies backing it which makes it difficult to change.

I don't think they would be allowed to as ti would be classed as "recording" the radio, rather than just playing it. It's a bit dumb that they can't imo, as no one is gonna use a Twitch VOD to pirate music.

Am I the only one who thinks music companies copyright claiming stuff like this and youtube videos is just scummy business practise? As if someone genuinely wants to "pirate" music by downloading it off youtube, surely they would just download the song (which are all available on youtube anyway), instead of downloading and clipping it out of a video with game audio or someone talking in it? I don't think the people who make the music are losing anything by youtubers or streamers having it in the background if it's in a game or something. If their problem is that people don't pay license fees for it, well none of these streamers would pay license fees as they wouldn't be able to afford it, they would just not use the music, so they aren't really losing anything that way either.

Yeah I probably should it's just always much more convenient to turn it off at the wall. I think I'll look into getting a surge protector with individual switches or having one power strip for the lights and unimportant stuff then one for the PC and Monitors. Is it okay to run 2 monitors, a Switch and a 500W ish PC off of one wall output? Or would it be best to split that over multiple?

I'll have to look into a surge protector like that thanks, I didn't know you could get ones with individual switches. Do you think the weird PSU noise is to do with the fact I always turn it off?

I have a few controllers that had got left with batteries inside them, they were left in a bag full of other random stuff because I'm unorganised lol. I took them out today and they have battery corrosion, not a huge amount, but I'm a bit concerned it got on the other stuff in the bag too, and I know this stuff can be bad for your eyes and skin etc. I know of the vinegar thing as that neutralises it etc, and I will do that for the actual contacts in the controllers, but for the outside of the controllers and the other stuff that was in the bag, does just wiping it down with a damp cloth work to remove any corrosion that may have got on it? Or will that just mean everything is covered in a think layer of potassium hydroxide or whatever it is? Bonus Question: Am I overthinking this and is it a case of "if the particles of corrosion are too small to see then they probably aren't dangerous for you even if they get on your eyes or skin?" Also just realised I've been using a different controller out of that bag for a few weeks, one that wasn't corroded, but am now a bit concerned it may have had corrosion form the other controller on it. If you get this shit on yur eyes or skin, would it be immediately obvious (i.e. painful) or would you not notice? P.S. Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I wasn't really sure where to put it, and because it's kindof about controllers I figured this would be the best place.

Does arcing also cause a spark? Are the safties likely to fail if it's a decent power supply though? Or would that just be on a knock off one?

When I turned my PC off today, I turned it off at the wall after shutting it down (as I always do), the PSU (I assume it was that, maybe it was something else in the PC) made a kindof cracking sound (basically a click but "deeper" if that makes any sense lol). It's never done this before. (I turned it back on and shut it down again and it did it again, so it's definitely the computer not just something else in the room that happened to make a noise as I shut it down). Is this the power supply? If it is does this means it's about to break or something? It's a really good EVGA one, only a year old. Plus if it does break is it gonna take my entire computer with it?

I have an RTX 2070, and it has only 1 hdmi port. I was previously using the HDMI port for my second monitor (this: https://www.game-debate.com/monitor/index.php?mon_id=4308&monitor=Acer%20X193HQL) Recently however I got a Rift CV1, so I have to use the hdmi port for that. For this reason, I purchased a DisplayPort to HDMI converter cable thing off eBay (this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4K-Display-Port-DP-To-HDMI-Female-Cable-Adapter-Converter-DisplayPort-for-HDTV/143552684748?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649). However, I can't get this to work with my second monitor. If I plug my second monitor into a displayport port on my GPU using the adapter, then not only does the monitor not work, but it stops my other monitor, which is an LG ultrawide plugged into a different displayport port, from working too. The eBay cable is working, as if i plug the ultrawide in using it, then it works fine. I also tried using the converter cable for the rift, but that doesn't work either. I have had issues with the second monitor before, once I tried to change the res and the monitor just kept saying "input not supported", even after I changed the res back. I got it to work again by using nvidia settings. Is there anyway to get the second monitor to work through the adapter cable? And why does it affect my other monitor when I plug it in? Note: The second monitor only supports VGA, so there is a separate HDMI to VGA adapter attached to it as well. I could tried a DisplayPort to VGA adaptor, or DVI to VGA as my GPU has a DVI port, but I don't want to waste money on more cables if I can get this one to work, as I can't send it back because the cable does technically work.

Have you made sure your monitor is plugged into your GPU and not your motherboard?

Is it still a problem with modern PSUs? What causes them to break, is it just the electricity constantly discharging and charging.

Every night I shut down my computer and then turn off the wall socket. Is this safe? Should I be tuning off the PSU before turning off the wall socket, or is this not necessary? There is no particular reason I do this, ever since I got my computer (December) I have just done it every night.

Is this likely to cause the PSU to fry the whole computer? I always switch my computer off at the wall every nigh, don't know why why as just always taught to turn everything off at the wall before going to bed. Is this bad for the PSU as well?

What is the point of 5G? I can't really see a situation in which one would need gigabit internet on their phone? Also aren't Huawei involved in the building of this, if so, I'm never using it lol.
