Tbh on worst case scenario I might use 2/3 transcodes at the same time. One for me and one for wife on her tablet. If my kids watch a cartoon at the same time it might be 3 transcodes. I just mentioned the devices I currently have.
-
I do have lifetime Plex pass. Yes an i3 is what I was thinking. As for transcodes Ideally videos will be stored at 1080p, and I have like these devices at home. 2 tablets 2 PC's 3 TV's and 4 cell phones so making the sum it's 11 devices. I would at least have between 8 to 12 transcodes, since not all devices would be working at the same time. Later down the line I might do 1440p transcoding. Will the i3 work for that?

OK I am new at building my own NAS, basically, so far what I have is a 4TB (2x2TB) Synology DS218 and I am planning on Building something far Solid and with more capacity, as for Plex it cant handle more than 720p encoding, and I find it "slow", and If I want to stream like 2K video or 4k even I will need more capacity. So... My plan. Build a FreeNAS or Unraid Server. The Usage. Plex Encoding, Storage of my premiere videos, storage of a few folders and maaaaybe Windows ISO's so I can do some windows Installs over the network. My Issues (Besides never had one built): 1 - The Ideal Specs - I read Intel processor can encode video and basically not needing a GPU. Sooo... should I go with an E Series Processor and it's fine, or Should I go with something like an i3? - If Igo the AMD Route will a 1550 or even a 1050 do the job? 2 - How Much RAM would I need, and the maximum frequency of it. Does Latency matter in a NAS environment? 3 - Planning on using an ITX Motherboard (for now). Should I forget about it or is it good for the moment? ANY advice is welcome.

Suggestions on a case for mini itx case for watercooling
VMBRA_ replied to VMBRA_'s topic in Power Supplies
Yes, it is. I want to make it as "portable" as possible, while allowing it to be watercooled. I plan on doing a full EKWB quantum build with their new rectanguçar/square pump+reservoir combo units in the future. Meanwhile I am going with the h100i AIO I currently own. -
Hello, I have been searching for a Mini ITX case that can accomodate a 240mm rad, and maybe also one of those new flat reservoirs from ekwb (preferrably also a 240mm one, if not, a 120mm one will do). I already looked these cases Raijintek Ophion Evo, Raijintek Ophion M Evo, Corsair crystal 280x, Phanteks Evolv Shift / Shift Air (this one cant accomodate most of the gear i want, without modifications to the chassis), Silverstone LD03/LD03B. I am planning on using an Asus rog strix Z390-i Motherboard, and a MSI 1660ti Gaming X, and later on upgrading to a 2080/2080ti with custom watercooling. I find the raijintek Ophion M Evo to be my best option, but suggestions are always welcome. Thanks in advance for any help/feedback provided.

One thing I find hard to understand is the 4 direct CPU lanes. Can I use an SSD and a GPU direct to it at the same time, or if I use one I lose the ability to use the other? -

Ye I Know, and it works, but I really wanna do something different. Thanks anyway, much appreciated. -
Evolv Shift Hardline Build
VMBRA_ replied to Dimitri Donkov's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
Hello, I also want to make a build with this case. Have you guys figured out how to put everything inside it? If you did please send pictures/videos. -
Hello guys I am trying to figure out wich parts from EKWB (or maybe some other brand) should I use to make possible to watercool a system inside the following case. http://www.phanteks.com/Enthoo-Evolv-Shift.html The Idea is carry that mini ITX case between places because I think it's bigger sister is too much. So I was thinking on using these parts: https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-velocity-d-rgb-nickel-acetal 1x or 2x (to cool GPU maybe if it is possible) https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-coolstream-se-120-slim-single-5000 I won't make the GPU part of the loop just yet, because I am waiting until July to change it if something good comes up. The issue is. I dont know wich pump/res combo I should use that fits in there, that is compatible with those mentioned above parts. Now, one thing I know it's possible is using this Reservoir combo unit from phanteks http://www.phanteks.com/PH-R160.html The problem with this is that it comes with a ddc pump, and I wanted to use a D5 (Read that DDC overheat a lot) If there are any EKWB compatible this is an option for me. And before anyone tells me this is impossible please watch this: There is also: http://www.barrowint.com/index.php/article/1099.html but With this one I need to run a pump separate from it. And last (this would be the best option if it Fits) I was trying to figure if I could run one of these: https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-xres-140-revo-d5-rgb-pwm-incl-sl-pump changing the tube with a shorter one https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-res-x3-tube-110-64mm Please help me figure this out, I would appreciate all help that I can have.

Ooh, well to solve that resolution issue u have WSGF. http://www.wsgf.org/ I think I will buy a GSync widescreen from ASUS tbh.
-
Hello, I need some advice on a G-Sync, ultrawide monitor and wich resolution sould I go for. So, shall I go for 3440x1440 or 2560x1080? I ask this because 3440x1440 might be a bit more expensive than 2560x1080 in everything, both the Horsepower (GPU), and the actual monitor. I need advice on good monitors for both resolutions.

Not actually, but I want to hear people's thoughts about price/performance rating. after reading some comments I will make my shopping. -
Need advice on DDR4 memory for an Intel 8700k
VMBRA_ replied to VMBRA_'s topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
thank you -
Ok, so I changed my mind, and I might be going for a G-Sync monitor. Because GPU will be NVidia. So as for Ultrawide resolution, wich one should I aim for? 3440x1440 or 2560x1080. the thing is: 3440x1440 might need a Very costly GPU and Monitor, whereas the 2560x1080 might not.

I am trying to choose wich Ram would be the best for my gaming build and I read some topics where I found that higher clock ram speeds won't work really well on the 8700k. This article: https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Intel/Core_i7_8700K_Coffee_Lake_Memory_Performance_Benchmark_Analysis/9.html the article dates to Oct 12th, 2017, so in the meantime much things have ocurred on those matters (or maybe not). So I wanted to know if Should I go with a 3000mhz kit, a 2666Mhz kit or even another one. By the way, I will be using trident Z's with RGB, the only thing I am looking is for optimal clock speeds and timings that I should look for.

nope it doesn't. The thing is, I got Distracted and didn't noticed the "i" at the time of purchase. Bad thing about brands is a lot of names look the same. (Still figuring excuses for my distraction). The good thing is: I didnt opened the package yet because it arrived at home, but I am not in there atm. So it's contents were not even Opened.

By the way I will send the board back and get a replacement, because I figured I bought the wrong one (when I read again the comment from ESAT wich said: "With that mini-motherboard you don't have luxury of moving DIMMs to other pair of slots."), then I thought wtf? I have four slots. And went to check the specs of the motherboard I bought, and realised I fucked up. My Original plan was to buy the Z370 Gaming Pro Carbon.

I just bought the cryorig H7, wich seems to fit even mini itx Motherboards... Picture below is an example. It's a temporary solution, since later this year i'll be moving to a EKWB CPU + GPU cooling loop (just waiting for NVidia new series to release). But thank you and everyone for the suggestions Oh also... The case has upper fan mounts for 2 fans

I am using the MSI Z370i Gaming Pro Carbon MB and Will use 2x8GB tridentZ 3200 cl14 with rgb, the case is a InWin 805c.

Thank you You were very helpful, thumbs up

wich one of them? the deepcool or the coolermaster one?

Just bought it. god thank you, and amazon aswell

Went in there already. Saw one that I find decent. The Gamaxx GT RGB and the master Air from coolermaster. What do you think of it? https://www.amazon.de/DEEPCOOL-GT-BK-Prozessorlüfter-CPU-Kühler/dp/B074P3JCXX/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1533834206&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=gammax+gt+rgb https://www.amazon.de/dp/B07CLTH5LT/ref=sspa_dk_detail_3?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B07CLTH5LT&pf_rd_m=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF&pf_rd_p=5d9f1d21-75bb-4018-838c-214f697868c6&pf_rd_r=2EG5EK9YV4YA8XGDNY42&pd_rd_wg=iCXu0&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&pd_rd_w=XVeA4&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pd_rd_r=24f1171f-9bf6-11e8-9cf2-393a41a5be24
