Over the past month I've probably had daily crashes for my GPU. I've updated drivers a couple of times and DDU'ed them twice with to change. below are the most recent errors I got when it crashed. I wasn't even in a game, just watching youtube in a web browser. Source: DistributedCOM Event ID: 10016 The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {2593F8B9-4EAF-457C-B68A-50F6B8EA6B54} and APPID {15C20B67-12E7-4BB6-92BB-7AFF07997402} to the user admin SID (S-1-5-21-3301580051-656591642-3679473175-1001) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). I work at microcenter and we got in the sg605 recently to replace the sg105, but it's more expensive and I can't see any reason why it would be. I also cannot find much about it, even on tp-link's website. Any ideas on the difference? https://www.microcenter.com/product/667376/tp-link-5-port-10-100-1000mbps-desktop-switch

I am using the included display port cable, and a 3070ti edit: apparently I have to turn on adaptive sync in the monitors control panel

I had the latest drivers from nvidia, and it didn't show up. so I DDU'ed in safe mode, and got 512.15 drivers auto-installed by windows and still no dice. any suggestions?

how to configure pcie lanes with 2 nvme ssd
roktmanskip replied to roktmanskip's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
damn, thanks -
I just put in a second 3.0x4 nvme into my rig and it is running in 3.0x2 mode. I was wondering how I can change my gpu to 8x to get the full speeds of both drives, or if i can disable something and keep my gpu on 16x. mobo: x470-f strix cpu: 5600x gpu: 3070ti wifi card: archer tx50 ssds: 970evo+ and sn 750 current config: order from top to bottom 970 evo (4x slot) 3070ti (16x slot) archer tx50(1x) sn-750 (4x slot) note: im not currently using the wifi card and it could be disabled, but im not sure where i can disable it in bios

Does anyone know if the 3070ti has memory chips on both sides of the pcb like a 3083/90? mostly asking as mining puts a lot of stress on the memory chips and want to make sure they are getting cooling they need

I was wanting to buy a 3700x but didn't want to pay too much for the motherboard and was looking at the asus Crosshair VII X370, with bios flashback and was wondering if that would be a good idea with a mild to low overclock. the other motherboard i would be looking at is a ROG STRIX B450-f but it doesnt have wifi for another 30 bucks PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor $299.63 @ Walmart CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition 42 CFM CPU Cooler $39.67 @ B&H Motherboard Asus CROSSHAIR VI HERO (WI-FI AC) ATX AM4 Motherboard $149.99 @ Amazon Memory Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory $73.98 @ Amazon Video Card Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 8 GB WINDFORCE 2X Video Card $399.99 @ B&H Case Fractal Design Meshify C ATX Mid Tower Case $99.98 @ Newegg Power Supply EVGA BQ 650 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply $60.98 @ Newegg Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total (before mail-in rebates) $1144.22 Mail-in rebates -$20.00 Total $1124.22 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-03-01 11:52 EST-0500

well, I unplugged it and it (monitor) and it worked again
-
I got home today, and turned on my computer. I have two monitors, and the main one (Acer xg270hu) has gsync enabled on it. The second monitor turned on just fine, but he first one had no image (orange light). I just figured something with the display cable has gone bad, so i switched it with a brand new one. No Dice I then uninstalled and reinstalled graphics drivers from Nvidia (and updated windows). No dice. I then whipped out my Displayport-to-hdmi adapter and none of the Dp ports worked. I tried using the VGA, and it worked too. I have no idea what to do, and the monitor is about 2-3 months old, so I don't think that is the problem. My GTX 1070 on the other hand I bought used about a year ago and have never had any issues before now. (cpu is I7-7700). At this point I am pretty sure the problem is on the computers end. (since I triend the hdmi on the monitor and it works fine) Any help would be great. (have a few things to do, so I will check back in about an hour)
