  1. I know for a fact it is not a thermal issue, temps never get too high. It seems some of the problems happen less after upgrading to 20.4.2 driver release. I'm still gonna take it apart and check the chip itself. Really want to get to the bottom of this issue. From what I read online it seems a lot of users are having similar issues to me as well.
  2. I mean I have custom cablemod cables for my PSU so I could be those by your logic right? It's a RM850x, a really good PSU. But all I know for sure is this never happened before I opened the card and changed pastes.
  3. Brand new Corsair 850 watt PSU... I doubt that but I guess it's possible..
  4. Yea but other than that idk what I did. The only other thing would be drivers, windows install, ram, or maybe it's not socketed well enough.
  5. If I tightened around the GPU die too much could it cause something like this? I was thinking of taking it out and checking maybe tomorrow.
  6. Yea didn't think of that. But anyways since a new driver is out I should ddu and install anyways to see. While it only does that in game I do have these black lines or streaks and/or flickering randomly on desktop when it never did before. So I'm getting really frustrated now with this card and AMD. They seem to never want to actually fix their drivers..
  7. Well it only happens in classic. Never had it happen in retail wow or any other games.
  8. Yea won't event viewer I only get some stuff like AMD user experience has stopped working and just a simple display driver has recovered. There is one thing that I know I did. I took my waterblock off for cleaning and redid the thermal paste and use fresh screws. Maybe I tightened a little too much? Would that do anything? I never tighten it past the point to where it requires a lot of force. Besides that the only thing I did was update BIOS for my ram OC and install drivers. I'm running at stock as well when this happens. I see 20.4.2 is out so I'll try ddu and install that and update BIOS after work and see what happens. If that doesn't work I'm gonna have to disassemble my hard line loop and reseat the CPU, and ram and gpu. Use air duster and make sure there is no dust in the sockets. I'm just really scratching my head at this because I love my Radeon VII, for my work that I do with programs and computing this card is great. If this doesn't solve I'm just gonna order a reference 2080S and put a block on that...
  9. Is there some kind of log where I can see why the driver stopped? I'm confused if it's the windows installation, or the driver download was corrupt or if my card is just going bad...
  10. Is there a way to check to see if something is bad with my windows install? Because this card worked perfectly fine in my other build before I made a new one. Idk how to troubleshoot what is causing these strange issues.
  11. Hmm, well I was thinking of using DDU to get rid of everything from AMD and redownload the chipset drivers and gpu drivers to make sure everything is a fresh download to see what happens. I think it has the option to get rid of the AMD folder. I'm also wondering if it's my install of windows that might be messed up. I still need to update my mobo bios to 1408 from 1407. Maybe it has something to do with it as well, for stability issues?
  12. I meant that the current driver 20.4.1 was causing it to be unstable. So I went back to the Microsoft certified 20.2.2 ... I like to be up to date on drivers ... But this only happens in WoW classic...
  13. So for some reason this only happens with my Radeon VII inside classic wow. This has never happened with anything else. I've tried DDU, I'm not updating to current driver. Not sure what's going on. Screen goes black and comes back but fps is like halved.
  14. I wish I could make a video but it happens when you don't expect it to. I could probably do a screen capture for an entire day but idk if it would pick it up. I'm gonna ddu and install windows certified 20.2.2 driver today. Also going to pick up a better DP cable (one I'm using ive had for 4 years). I was thinking of trying with old monitor or maybe switching to my HDMI cable. Could it be something like my older DP cable does not support 1.4?
  15. So since my new build where I update everything except my gpu I am getting this weird screen flicker. Sometimes it flickers and a line shows up on either the right or the left side of the screen. I have had a black screen issue where my pc locks up randomly as well. Not sure what is going on but I have tried doing factory resets on my gpu drivers. I have a Radeon vii, I think I will try a ddu and install the 20.2.2 driver that if I remember correctly did not have this issue. I got a new monitor as well so I am not sure if this is the monitor doing this, or my gpu, or my mobo or CPU. I don't really have any idea how I can test and debug to figure out what is going on. I might just have to bear with it until I will buy a rtx 2080 to watercool that. I have a Asus rog strix gaming-e, ryzen 3800x, m.2 drives for os and specific games and then a 2tb drive for mass storage. I have a 144hz freesync panel 1440p. I was also thinking of updating my displayport cable and getting a higher quality one. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
  16. I'm running two nvme ssds for my drives. I really doubt it's the drives lol. Hopefully amd post on their site.
  17. What does this utility do? Because I've tried cpuz and looking at things but everything appears normal no matter what. I thought it was just the reporting software messing up but you can feel it's sluggish in anything you do. But a restart brings it back to normal.
  18. It stays at that frequency no matter what. I first realized it when I was running heaven and getting like 1/3 of my normal fps. The clock is fixed at that speed for some reason. When I restart my fps goes back to normal with the clock speed change. I thought it was fixed with the new BIOS update but it wasn't. I even tried reseating the CPU but it didn't change anything. It doesn't seem to be a board issue because it happens very rarely but I'm just lost as to why it happen on my zen2 based system but not on my 1700x system.
  19. It happens rarely, Everytime it happens I go into BIOS on the next startup and everything looks normal. I'm in high performance profile in windows as well.
  20. So I have a ryzen 3800x and an Asus strix-e x570 mobo. Sometimes on a boot up my CPU is stuck at like 1.5-1.6ghz and after a reboot the processor is running normal stock settings and boosting up to 4.4-4.5ghz. I am on latest Asus bios (1407) and CPU is not overclocked. I also have the DOCP settings up for my ram set at 3600mhz. I have no clue why it does this and haven't been able to find anything out online. If you need anymore data please let me know.
  21. Is there a certain kind of sleeve that I would need to get?
  22. I am wanting to do individual sleeving on my cables but have no idea where to source the materials from. I've looked on Amazon but don't really know what kind of sleeving I need to find for the PSU cables. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  23. My ddc I have now is a Bykski ddc, not sure what style impeller it uses.
