  1. I added a screenshot of the information. I apologize I couldn't tell you more. Hopefully my text is better. Latest Update (3/17/2021): A new update for this app showed up. Again it wouldn't let me update it. I tried all the other apps first and they updated. Then before having to try this annoying process again I tried to update it and it did. I don't know what's going on but after doing this solution if you get an update for Android System WebView you have to update all the other apps first before it will allow you to update it.

  3. You are correct that is one of the solutions out there. Each device has a different solution or issue related to Android Systems WebView, some can't use the internet other have various issues with different apps or Google Chrome browser either updating or function issues being one of them. For me it was Both Android Systems WebView & Google Chrome browser not updating and Google Chrome browser glitching on new the new phone. I tried it on my previous phone and it helped also, but that phone was running Android 9 and just found out a friend of mine was having a issue with her phone but it was older running Android 8, and this for whatever reason worked (I am not a Tech person or expert). How I came about this solution was after trying a lot of other solutions some I could do, some I couldn't like rooting. I said WTH kept combining several solutions together in different variations until I tried this long solution. And it worked but also surprised me because the device in certain things is faster and smoother. I don't know if this is a permanent solution but it is something to try if other options aren't working. I was sharing it to try to help other who may come across similar issues. I'm just glad to be able to update things again and Chrome is definitely a great improvement. I hope this can help others. It's just another option to consider or try. I don't know how permanent it is. People shouldn't have to go through this but that is another topic.
  4. Thank you. I thought the tag would help but I added the android version and a little more context. Sorry I can't specify all the Andriod System WebView. This is the solution that worked for me and was sharing it to try to help others who may need it or come across something similar.
  5. Sorry everyone I am not a technical person, just posting what worked for me after trying tons of common troubleshooting. Apparently this app is a key functionality component in Android for other apps to work like Chrome, Gmail, and non Google apps to function or be allowed to update in the Play Store. And has a history of causing issues with other apps because of this version or previous version of the app itself & with Android 10 and previous versions of Android like android 8. After trying this it work for me on a new phone that came out in January (2021) plus a friends Samsung phone running Andriod 8. Not saying this the answer for everyone just something to consider, I am not a tech expert. Long Story short. Figured out a solution that works for me and my new phone (2021) and passing this information so that it may help others Since Google can't and doesn't monitor the app. Update: Was ask to provide a little more information. Again keeping it short don't want to write a book on this or the history of the issue. For some time Android users have been having issues with apps or apps updating and this is because of Android System Webview. So if anyone is having issues updating Google Chrome, or any other app, or Android System WebView in the Google Play Store this was my solution. This was done on Android 10 and could be use to solve it on Android 10 and previous versions of Android. Again worked for me but may not work for everyone. Solution / Fix This is a lot of work but it will have the device working better faster than ever. Follow step by step. Solution: 1) Go to system settings, then apps, click to see all apps. 2) Click on Android Systems WebView then click the 3 dots & hit uninstall updates. Then clear its cache & then clear data. 3) Next, go back to apps list click the 3 dots then choose show systems apps. Foot Note: On different devices the names will have different variations but it is something like Download or System Download and the other app is going to be called Download Manager or Systems Download Manager every device is going to be a different variation of the name. 4) But for both these apps you're going to have clear its cache & then clear the data. Next and this is key follow in this order exact. 5) In system settings under apps and viewing all listed. Go to Google Play Store click on the 3 dots and uninstall updates, then clear its cache & then clear data. 6) Next go to Google Play Services click on the 3 dots and uninstall updates, then clear its cache & then clear data. 7) Key thing to do immediately restart the phone or device. 8) Once the phone or device is rebooted wait like 3 minutes so Google Play Store can load. 9) Very important to do Google Chrome first in the Play Store, I don't know why. Open up Google Play Store and in the search bar type Google Chrome. Click on Google Chrome and click update and wait to fully finish updating. 10) Next exit out and in the search bar type Android Systems WebView. Do not go to the Beta or Dev versions of it. Click on the plain regular one. Once inside click update and wait to fully finish updating. Then exit out. This is what worked for me, may not for everyone but now in your apps you will see they have been updated and actually work better & faster than ever before.
  6. I remember for years laowhy86 & ADVChina youtube channels had discussed these things. Here is one of the videos I could pull up quickly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCnnPf2OnHo
  7. Was watching Technology Connections Fiber vs. Copper; What do we really need? when he referenced this Linus Tech Tips video Corning 100ft USB3.Optical Cable I was thinking how great it would be to see an update to this video to see how the cable would stand up today versus modern day cables like UBC C (General term without having to go into all the different versions), Thunder Bolt, HDMI (General term without having to go into all the different versions), ect. to see which has the best quality, fastest speed, delay speed / latency ect. plus maybe a graph showing various specs differences.
  8. I don't know how I got to this page but it helped somewhat https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000026895/software/software-applications.html?productId=91600&localeCode=us_en I used the part where it said (• Uninstall the existing IDSA tool in the system with the Uninstaller tool.) and clicked on the Uninstaller tool link but I had to take additional steps by going into Windows 10 settings and uninstalling Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (IDSA) and deleting any Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (IDSA) exe. files, installers, and downloader files on my laptop. Once everything was wiped out, I used the part where it said (• Download and install the latest IDSA version from here) clicked on the here part to get the most current Intel® Driver & Support Assistant which is this page here https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28425 and install it and it worked great plus extremely fast. If you follow https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000026895/software/software-applications.html?productId=91600&localeCode=us_en to the T and use all its link only plus uninstall old Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (IDSA) in Windows 10 settings plus delete every Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (IDSA) exe. files, installers, and downloader files you can find on your system in any area. It will give the most recent updates possible. Thank You Very Much Everyone For Your Help & Support.
  9. I always keep my Laptop updated whether it's HP's, Intel, or Microsoft Windows 10. I updated Windows 10 & this is the longest its ever taken, I don't know how many hours maybe 6 or more. But it was updating a bunch of stuff old and new shutting down and reloading constantly. After the update I did a HP update and it worked fine. When I went into Intel® Driver & Support Assistant it couldn't scan my system and said the following "Oops, something went wrong while trying to scan. Please try again, or see our FAQs for help". At the very top Intel had a message "Intel will be supplying Windows DCH Drivers for its products beginning in November. These drivers will be used for Windows® 10 and Windows* Server 2019 and will replace the existing drivers. Read more>" https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/develop/getting-started-with-universal-drivers I went into all the Windows DCH stuff, I think I have an idea of what is going on and will provide the best screen shots I can get but if anyone can in layman's term explain that will be great. Also, How do I find Windows DCH in Windows 10?
  10. I say use the CNC Router and 3D print to make custom parts and see if it works for the Red Camera to work with water cooling.
  11. Interesting. I wonder has anyone else seen this and what are your thoughts?
  12. True not all systems and people are the same and there are various factors that can play into this. And unless it is a controlled observation using the same material and method it could be a multitude of factors which I failed to do. I hadn't put full thought into it.
  13. Didn't think of that. It that may be true. The only thing is when I was on other devices like laptops or my phone the option wasn't even showing up. It would either it would go to 1080p or 4K on the Desktop or Laptop and on my phone only allow to 1440p since it is a Quad HD phone. There were several sites I tried it out on but figured youtube showed the settings the best. The images below is of the phone where the option wasn't even there to go to a higher resolution. Also android is different than a Windows 10 OS. But I think you are right on the downsample or scaling and it just maybe that my system for what ever reason is adjusting it to 4K.
  14. I have a HP Envy Model: 15T-AS100 CTO with integrated Intel I7 7th Generation / Intel HD Graphics 620 (Bits Per Pixel 32 @ 60p Hz). The screen on this laptop is a 4K HDR 3840 x 2160. I am curious about something. I am able to view 8K content on this laptop even though the design and Specs are 4K. On any other device I'm on, I am only allowed to view content at that max resolution of the that device and not be able to view higher or even choose higher. My question is how is this possible? My best guess is that since everything (except the 32 Bits Per Pixel) match 8K resolution and both hardware and software are capable of hosting it that the 1 Bits Per Pixel difference isn't factoring in. I noticed when change resolution a minuscule difference and you really have to look to tell the difference between 4K and 8K. I would have posted photos but I am only allowed 20MB upload here.
