  1. New case for new build. "Misplaced riser screws". Drove from local computer shop to computer shop to find one who did have tonnes of screws but needed to have one as example so that I am not bending my board. Found one and...didn't go back to the shop. Reread case manual and realized it was one that didn't need risers. Also same thing as GundamMC... Also spent way too long searching for second MSi m.2 shield only to realized it came with just one (I gave up searching online for a 2nd one).
  2. For the most part you want to avoid using gift cards online. There are always issues. It would have been easier if you had transferred from giftcard to say a paypal or whatever service you prefer than to directly use a giftcard that cannot be properly verified.
  3. Using the x370 and have mine set to breathing from the gaming app. It shouldnt be affecting your mouse and keyboard. Is there a setting on your Razers to disable sync?
  4. Intel has been testing the waters on the GPU scene but the big questionmark would be Apple jumping into the fray. I like your mind. But for the cellphones its more about the OS war than the phones themselves at this point.
  5. I like your idea but meant more along the lines of branding or concepts that are solid. Like, just to throw trash comparisons, McDonalds vs Burger King or Fried vs Baked.
  6. So, we all know about the ongoing war of Intel vs AMD, Nvidia vs AMD, and PC vs everyone, but can you name a few other ongoing wars? Sure war in general is bad, but in terms of commerce that is innovation and price competition. Just for the sake of bringing it up, SeaGate vs WD (courtesy of latest Scrapyeard Wars comments). There are more than you commonly realize until you think of it.
  7. Any chance we can talk about your friends monitor choice? Seems a bit odd to be set on the 1080 and 144hz.
  8. He can cheap out on the ram a bit. Unless he plans on overclocking anything over 2600 is kinda unnecessary. Personally I would rather see the guy spend a bit more to get a zen 5 2600 and get keep stock cooler but that is just a personal choice.
  9. If he is sticking to low cost, an AMD cpu, any 500w psu, a $200-300 gpu, any case and mobo of your choice and 8gb ram. That would be roughly $550-$675. You can choose the intel route but that is another rabbit hole..
  10. Hate to double but honestly speaking, if he is aiming for 1080p and 144hz the monitor would probably cost more than what type of GPU he would need for OW.
  11. Realistically speaking, you dont need much to play Overwatch at a good quality. However...connection quality is a big thing with it. A $500 will be enough for just overwatch.
  12. So..have you updated the motherboard yet? Also, which os are you installing?
  13. Lets go through this slowly. To confirm, you did plug the power to the gpu from the psu?
  14. The PSU shouldnt be that much of a kneecapper for this set. As long as overclocking isnt a factor it would run within reasonable limits. Still with that setup to do "heavy" gaming, a 600 would be minimum. The biggest factor would be the 32 bit. With lower end games your memory cap wont be that bad on 32. However, with more data flow it takes more to move and you just can't really keep up with that power supply. While the PSU normally wouldn't be the killer, with it running 32 that is what tipped it over the hill.
  15. One important thing to note is that realtek has issues reading a headset combo over jack in windows 10.
