  1. Hey mate this will be A HUGE necropost but i came across your thermal pad sizes for an asus 1060 turbo 6gb and was wondering if those were the exact sizes?

Long shot for you to remember but will be helpful 🙂

  2. Hi, @baranpaksoy! About PC: CPU: I recommend upgrade CPU to 6-8 cores. The choice depends who You like more, Intel or AMD. From Intel i suggest I7-10700K or I5-10600K. From AMD i suggest Ryzen 7 5800X or Ryzen 5 5600x. MOBO: After you have choosen CPU is MOBO(motherboard, main board). The main thing in motherboard is chipset. If you have choosen Intel base CPU (i7-10700K or i5-10600K) then you need motherboard with this chipsets: H410, B460, H470, Z490, Q470. For AMD (Ryzen 5,7 5000 series) you will need motherboard with this chipsets: B450, X470, B550, X570. The rest of is own taste or needs ( more RAM slots, M.2 slots and types, SATA ports, VRM cooling ect). RAM: In These times recommended is 16 GB of RAM. If you like and want you can go with 32GB, but before you buy check RAM speed, that depends what CPU and MOBO you have chosen. Intel i7-10700K supports DDR4-2999(~3000) MHz, I5-10600K supports DDR4-2666 MHz. AMD Ryzen 7 5800X and Ryzen 5 5600X support DDR4-3200 MHz. CPU FAN: You can choose air or liquid cooling. Main things about choosing AIR cooler are socket support, dimensions (height - that you can close case side panel, widths - that other parts do not come contact with fan those are RAM, VRM and other parts.). LIQUID coolers - same as air, socket support , dimensions and plus that, free and specific space in case for liquid cooler radiator (size - 240mm, 280mm ect.) I hope that something from this will help You to choose. And sorry for my wacky language!

  4. FIX Hi, So my friend have Lenovo Legion Y530 (i5-8300H, 8GB, GTX 1050Ti, 1.8HDD + 16GB Intel Optane) and had same problems (low fps and shuttering). Problem is that HDD is not defragmented and enabled intel optane memory do not allow to auto defragmented. What you wanna to do is: 1. In start search bar search "Intel Optane Memory"; 2. Find and click on disable (it will warrning about data loss,it will be ok, just click ok, next) 3. Restart pc; 4. In start search bar search "Disk defragmentation and optimization"; 5. Choose the disk and click "Optimize"; 6. After optimization enable Intel Optane memory and restart pc. I hope this will help someone. It helped me!
  5. So, my friend bought Lenovo Legion Y530 (i5 8300H, 8 GB, GTX 1050Ti(mobile), 1.8TB HDD+Intel Optane 16GB). And back in the days when it was brand new it run very well. Its 2 years and since hi bought like brand new and it ran very well. Hi played games like PUGB, GTA V e.c. and wasnt any problem. But now first of all hi is experiencing FPS drops and shuttering. I have cleaned(hardware and os) changed thermalpaste (cpu, gpu) have uninstaled and re-installed drivers (nvidia and intel) have played with power options and still hi has this shuttering and lower FPS. Sorry for my language knowlege!
  6. Give some cleanup! 1. Go to Windows search and type "%appdata%" > then go one folder backwards and open folder called "Low" and then go all a way down and open folder "Temp" delete all what allows to delete 2. Dowload "Malwarebyte" its virus cleaning sowft, click to scan and whait to scan all Your PC! 3. You can uninstall some apps that You don t use or didnt know that irs there! Take a look!
  7. CPU: Is oky. CPU FAN: Oky, only what case You will use for this build. MOBO: Oky. RAM: i recommend 32 GB (2x16GB) for Dual-Channel or You can save money for 16GB(2x8GB) and will get great preformance in games. Storage: oky, but if You want save money, i would go for 240-500 GB nvme ssd and 1-2 TB HDD. PSU: if You wont overclock it, go with some 650 Watt or 750 watt for future upgrades, and this will save some money too!
  8. Thanks for your recommendation! I will try your solution!
  9. Hi Linus Tech Tip'ers! So i built a Ryzen 9 3900x system for my friend, and now he wants overclock it! I have not overclock and do not know where to start! Maybe someone can share some overclocking setting (voltage, clock ratio etc). The target is 4.3-4.5 GHz! Maybe someone can share GPU overclocking too?! PC specs: CPU: Ryzen 9 3900x; MOBO: ASUS TFU X570-Plus; RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (2x8GB), 3600 MHz, CL18, DDR4; CPU FAN: Corsair Hydro H100i Pro; GPU: ASUS ROG Strix RTX 2080 super; PSU: Seasonic FOCUS PX PSU 750W.
