  1. That BIOS is from Aug 2020, it would be incredibly bad if he got a board that had it or had been sitting for 2.5 years... ROG STRIX B550-A GAMING BIOS 1004 Version 1004 18.53 MB 2020/08/18
  2. What PSU are you using? Sounds like connection issue. As dropping in a new motherboard/CPU/RAM is easy peasy from a "will it work" standpoint. Just did this a few weeks ago. So I'd not just recheck connections, but take it ALL apart and rebuild it .
  3. Sorry, but your post comes off a "prove me wrong" type. Not only is your title stating a fact, your body is written to support it. So your whole post is a viewpoint, not asking a question. Coupled with the game isn't even out yet, let alone tested... It sounds like you're looking to argue a little. It's how I read it any way. If not, no problem. Just so you know how it may be coming across.
  4. No, you didn't break it with an air compressor. Why does it need a new hard drive? Did you have proof of it working before you bought it? Or right when you got home before cleaning?
  5. It's demanding on certain settings, and in others it's very easy to run for the masses. Non issue. Are we already arguing over a game that won't be out for over a year still? Why not just wait and see?
  6. Odd how you choose a 7700X over the 7800X3D. Do you have a microcenter nearby? Add your case of choice... replace the cooler with an AIO if that was what you really wanted, but the 7800X3D doesn't need one. RAM timings were improved. Motherboard is arguably better. GPU is very much better. 7. 100% agree. I don' think I've hit 16GB on my 6900XT even at 1440p UW, but I don't check often. Would be interesting to know.
  8. 12GB on a low/mid tier 1080p card is perfectly fine though. If you try to tell me $600 isn't low/mid tier, I think Nvidia will disagree with you.
  9. All good. I'm still tempted. I want to bump the new 5600X3D build up to 32GB.
  10. 3600CL18 is very slightly better than 3200CL16 but for all intents and purposes are the same. The ratios are the same, and like said above... speed is better on one, quickness (timings) better on other. I woud use the 3600 unless you like the look of the Crucial better. Yes they're that close that aesthetics wins here.
  11. 4-5 years. When it slows down compared to what I am using it for, or something new catches my eye. I am not always logical. Is this a post for shits and giggles cuz you're bored or are you asking for a reason? Are you about to buy your first phone? My turn: When do you buy new shoes? How long do you expect to use them for?
  12. While you know I love me some Ripjaws... the seller had to have 2 orders fulfilled by Amazon
  13. OnePlus 11 5G or the new 12 which launches in 7 days... 50w wireless charging, 125w+ wired charging, 5500MAh batttery, 4 camera circles (more circles is better, right?), etc etc etc. Worth looking at. I am loving the 11, after years of Samsung and HTC. https://www.oneplus.com/us/launch/12?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIoJmumfnhgwMV3QGtBh2BRQagEAAYASAAEgKEnvD_BwE&tab=Tab1
  14. Yeah, there don't seem to be too many options like you're asking for. Most are adhesive or screw in.
  15. Shield goes on outside the case, motherboard inside. Shield does NOT go on the motherboard.
  16. Sounds like a you issue. Lack of self control. Yes, it's possible but I doubt you could based on your self description. Best of luck. Growing up is a pain isn't it?
  17. Yes, get Adrenaline and all is well It's the equivalent to GeForce Experience basically.
  18. Don't upgrade. The recommendation assumes unknown components, so they err on conservative. You only have a 10400, so 550 is more than fine for that system.
  19. Ugh, prices went up. I got mine for $110 last year. Was hoping they'd be the same, if not cheaper. 10400f may help your lows as well (compare the 2 on youtube), and it's $100-$110. Sell the 10105f for $50. Another option.
  20. Yes, but only if you get the 10600K under $100. Then sell the 10105f. Net cost is worth it. I went from that same config but with a 1070 as the GPU and it gained quite a bit in Ark, Minecraft, and Apex. The 10105f isn't a bad CPU, it's just not all that stout.
  21. Well I spent over $4k on the 9900K/1080Ti build with $180 DDR4 16GB kits, etc. Prices were different then and coming here asking for a $10k all at once build, when it's basically not even possible without some really bad choices, is.... something. And yes, it IS a college kid. He needs Microsoft applications for College. Unless some rich guy who's going back to school?
  22. Are you saying you spent $10k on your build?
  23. At $10k this is a fantasy build. Or are you really a rich college kid with $10k to waste? Definitely do some research, as you mention keyboards having different switches. Have you even googled them to learn?
  24. You have 3 fans between the radiator and the case? Not seeing them, but it may be the pic. Short answer, not worth it. It can provide better air movement for thicker radiators but a standard 360 is more than fine.
