  1. Thank you for the heads up I'm originally from Denmark, I've just been living in Canada for a while so I'm just returning. I didn't think I would be returning though which is why this is sort of a last second oh shit is this gonna work kinda thing. But thank you again!
  2. Ah this is very useful, thank you so much! The only two things I'll be bringing over that need new cables are the PSU and the monitor
  3. I've checked the amazon page for it but I haven't found anything. The PSU is an EVGA G3 unit, 750W i believe And my monitor is the Asus VG248QE
  4. Hi! I'm moving from Canada to Denmark in June and I was wondering if there would be any issue with getting new power cables for my PSU and my monitor to fit the sockets in Denmark. I know voltages, etc. are different, but I am not sure if there would be any issue here at all? I don't know much about electronics so I hope this isn't a dumb question Thank you for reading this!
  5. Well, damn. Not sure what else to say here LMFAO Honestly at this point I feel like it would be easier and cheaper to buy a luggage case and just pay for an extra one on the plane? I don't know if it's safe to do it like that, or if it's even allowed. I assume the safety issue can pretty much nullified with A Lot of packaging. I'm more concerned with whether it would be allowed? I saw someone talk about bringing his micro-atx or itx system on as a carry-on, so if he managed that I don't see why I couldn't bring it with me in a hard suitcase? I'm truly desperate and grasping for anything I can here LMFAO, thank you guys for all your help and suggestions so far, I don't think I quite realised the scope of this before making this thread
  6. I'm not sure how to work the multiquote thing, on the note of how I'm packing it I was thinking of removing the video card and then use the instapak stuff for the inside, then bubblewrap the glass panels and wrap it shut with stretch wrap or something of the like. And then yea of course pad the box a lot, and I was also heavily considering double boxing it if possible. I hadn't considered the edge protectors but I'll definitely look into that so thank you very much for that tip! On the import thing, how does that work exactly? Are there forms I have to fill out before-hand, I've never shipped anything before. I know it's not going to be cheap, but if I can cut any costs that'd be great! For clarity, I have owned all of the items since early June 2018
  7. As tempting as it is I would much like to keep the case. I am not so worried about shipping cost, it's more of a safety thing. I don't want anything to get damaged. I'll definitely check out local computer stores to see if they have empty boxes, I hadn't thought of that so thank you a lot!
  8. Hi, my name is Freyja and I've been living in Canada since June 2018. Due to visa complications I am forced to move back to Denmark soon, and I really don't want to leave my PC behind as I spent quite a bit of money on it. I am in a pretty sticky situation, where we live there wasn't much room so I didn't keep any of the original boxes that anything came in. I'm wondering how to best send all this to Denmark? The case is the Corsair Obsidian 500D, I'm not sure what to do for the insides or what to do about the tempered glass panels either. I've never had to ship a PC before and I would greatly appreciate any tips or feedback that you guys have! Also sorry if this is in the wrong forum section, I couldn't quite find the "Oh Shit I Suddenly Have To Move To Another Continent What Do I Do With My PC God Damn It I Am Not Prepared For This At All" section EDIT: I'm also shipping my monitor, and I also do not have the box for this, woops! Thank you so much for reading this!
  9. I don't know about having my games on my hard drive, I've been told by pretty much everyone to avoid that as much as possible
  10. I figured I'd invest in an NVMe drive because the rest of my system is pretty decent, and they're currently on a tiny sale on newegg.ca with a 14% off the 250GB version and an 18% off the 500GB version
  11. My 850 EVO is 250GB, so I feel like it would be more of an "hey here's some extra storage" idea, unfortunately
  12. Hi, this might be a bit of a weird / silly question, but I'm very unsure about this since I am basically a complete beginner to building PCs. I'm in the process of building an entirely new computer from my last one which is currently about 9 years old. For the new build I'm planning on getting the samsung 960 evo nvme drive along with a 2TB hard-drive for general storage.. However, about 1 year or so ago I got myself a samsung 850 evo sata ssd, so I have one of those already. Would it be possible to run all of them at the same time on the new build? The motherboard I have is the ASUS Rog Strix X470-F Also what would be my best option for a use case here, should I get the 960 evo at 250GB to just run windows and maybe programs like photoshop, sony vegas, etc. and then use my 850 evo SATA ssd for games? Or would it be better to simply invest in a larger size capacity 960 evo and have all the programs and games on that, and then maybe saving the 850 evo for something else? Thank you for reading through this!
  13. Thank you so much for your help! Is it possible that the issues people have are with manual inputs? I was told that "xfr2" and "precision boost" were pretty much automated things, would they run fine with that?
  14. Those are the motherboards I initially looked at, I was just scared off by the reviews because for both of these, as a lot of people seem to have issues with the voltages and other things in the BIOS. I honestly don't exactly know what the issues with the voltages being offset quite means, or if it would apply to me. Someone suggested me this board for the Ryzen build: https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813144176&nm_mc=AFC-C8JunctionCA&cm_mmc=AFC-C8JunctionCA-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10592396&PID=3938566&utm_medium=affiliates&utm_source=afc-PCPartPicker%2C+LLC But it doesn't have any reviews on newegg at least
