  1. have you tried to uninstall the audio driver
  2. @jimkirk363 is the performance reduced or improved by having the pagefile on a dedicated HDD, i was thinking along the lines that the SSD performance would be better as the pagefile is reading/writing on a different HDD as the SSD is bottlenecked by the 3GB/s port it would free up some bandwidth
  3. I think if i could fit a 240mm AIO in my case i would have maybe got one lol, but for now the cooling is ok
  4. thats fine and a valid point, i used to have the tuniq tower 120 but i wasnt impressed by cooling performace
  5. I have seen something like this a long time ago with my fresh build, my graphics card vram was faulty and somehow killed my ram, after sending them both back for warrenty they got replaced, also on a DIrt 2 game my audio bit rate was set to high and kept crashing the game, however this was only the game and not the whole system, what makes you think this is an audio driver problem just out of interest?
  6. whats wrong with this cooler? my temps are 28 at idle and max 45 on a stress test?
  7. I only set it this way to stop unnecessary reads/writes, or is the performance gain better that the life of the SSD
  8. have you check temps and done a ram test
  9. Hey everyone, I hope you are all well. So basically I wanted to explain my setup to see what everyone thought and if there is any room for improvement or unnecessary bottle necking, To start with I have 2 HDD and 1 SSD, my OS and main programs are all on my SSD with the exception of steam/games on my 1st HDD, all temp files and user files i.e. pictures documents folders are also on this HDD, my 2 HDD is a dedicated 160GB page file drive set as system managed, However, my SSD is only able to put out half performance (240MB/s) as it is on a 3GB/s sata port and not 6GB/s sata port as motherboard only has 6x 3GB/s sata ports Secondly I have a PCI-E x16 3.0 graphics card in a pci-e x16 2.0 slot on the motherboard as that’s the fastest pci-e supported I have 2x 8GB of ram running duel channel even tho the motherboard supports tripple channel without spending money would you do anything different or can you see any problems/mistakes? CPU Intel I7 920 D0 Motherboard Asus P6T SE RAM CORSAIR Vengeance 2x8GB GPU ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1050 Case Antec Nine Hundred Storage Samsung SSD 850 EVO & Toshiba 1TB HDD & 160GB seagate HDD PSU Corsair CX 650 Display(s) ACER KG271 Full HD 27" LED Cooling CORSAIR Hydro Series H55 120 mm Keyboard Microsoft 3000 Mouse has a laser and a battery Sound on board Operating System Windows 10 x64
  10. is this just the game crashing or the whole system?
  11. Just did a test to see how i stand, and its not bad https://www.passmark.com/baselines/V9/display.php?id=102464705917
  12. @jrock Im so stupid, on removing the cards I populated the two free slots and got the same results, i then removed 1 card and rebooted, I had 2gb less, "bingo" removed the card and placed the other stick in a slot, only gained 2GB...confusion, turns out i was reading the serial number...*** *** 4gb means paired 4GB... I have 2 sticks paired at 2GB each...it was a wile ago I had use the ram, im sure I had more lol... @billstelling I have downloaded the manual that's how I know where to put my ram and also why I added more memory into the mix. My graphics card is a GTX1050 2GB, also I run a dedicated 150GB Pagefile drive lol, but taking your advice into consideration, motherboard 24GB max capacity, 20GB of ram and 2GB on Graphics card, = 22GB with 2GB buffer, Id says that's the boundy, all i need to do is run a stress test for 24 hours
  13. @jrock, sorry misread, on it now, see you in 10
  14. @Jrock I know the memory is fine as i was using it before I got the 2x8GB sticks, I just didn't think they was compatible so I didn't use them until I watched Linus video lol
  15. Hey, I hope you are all well, My problem with my memory is not all of it is being displayed but at the same time it is, there should be 24GB of ram on system My motherboard is a P6T SE with 6 ram slots and supports Single/Dual/Triple Channel memory and max memory capacity supported is 24GB, i have put my memory in as shown below . When using CPU-Z on SPD tab i can see all the memory in "memory slot selection" and on the memory tab it says i'm running in triple channel, but only says size is 20GB, is this correct or not, is it a windows 10 "home x64" problem, any help would be appreciated im basically trying to push my system to the max before I have to upgrade so I'm still rocking a 1st GEN I7 920,
