  1. So this is an old post, but im looking for some info on this. I just bought one to replace the h97m-e i was running and apparently the 4 pin headers arent really 4 pin?? the speed isnt an issue, its that im running 4 pin LED fans and when they spin slow, the LED's dim, and fast makes them bright. Is there a work around for this? I dont wanna run a fan controller but i may have to.
  2. Anybody know how these 24 to 8 pins are wired? From the pic it seems as though there's 3 yellow wires coming from the 24 pin (8 in total) and 2 yellow going to the 8 pin (7 in total, only 7 pins are used). I know the difference in the purple wires is that the 24 pin purple is 5v standby and the 8 pin dell purple is 12v standby. The last adapter i had just had a single pin for a molex connector for 12v standby instead of this version. Is there a magical way to convert 5v to 12v i havent heard about? I tried tapping into a normal power supply but its not working for me.
  3. So I built my own case out of lexan to throw dell optiplex guts into (just for the gf to game with) and instead of buying the 24 to 8 pin power connector i soldiered in a new lead and used a pcie connector so i would still have the 24 pin for future builds (which was almost the same 8 pin plug) and turn the psu on and get nothing. No sound or lights whatsoever. Does anybody know if i wired it wrong? Wanna start with the easy stuff first to see if i can get it to turn on.
  4. Ok thanks. I may be able to use a 90 degree cable but i dont have one on me atm and I'm waiting till Tuesday for a new cooler to come in before i can start it up
  5. Does your os hard drive have to be plugged into the first sata slot or can you use the second? Im having clearance issues with the gpu and cant use the gpu and the first sata connection
  6. This has been a great post for me. Ive been planning on doing something similar but no one could answer this for me. I thought about finding a 9020 mint tower but even a bare case still sells for $200+ on ebay. But for now i want the Dell optiplex 9020 guts in an aftermarket case. I can deal without the front usb and 3.5 jacks for now but someday ill figure that out. Im glad moddiy has the power button adapter and the 24 to 8 pin power adapter. Will be buying those when i find the case I want.
  7. Hey Linus! Been watching your youtube channel for awhile and im hoping i get another chance to work for you. Not hoping to replace anybody, just hoping you grow! Your channel has learned me a lot of things that people tried to teach me but had failed at doing so. Someday i hope to be part of your team! Until then, ill continue watching!
