dmacd1331's Achievements

  1. It has to run 95 because it's a machine controller that has proprietary hardware and they only made drivers for windows 95.
  2. So to cover the quick basics The computer has to run windows 95 (this is required for the machine controller) The hard drive died and the new drive already configured with windows 95 and the software (exactly the same image of the drive originally) Need to get a pcmcia card working, I have the one that was working with the previous hard drive and a couple others that I am unsure if they actually work. The pcmcia network card I know that works is a http://www.linksys.com/us/support-product?pid=01t80000003KYu7AAG and I have no drivers however according to drives i could find (may or may not be legit drivers) in the windows 95 section it says it's plug and play and when i install it it has drivers for it in the pick manufacture and device section of driver installation. No matter what I try I cannot get this computer on the network, I am installing the tcp/ip service and giving it the correct static network settings. I don't know where else to look for help.
  3. Well it looks like the NP8651-S isn't out yet however I have had my NP8651 (not sure what the differences are) for about 6 months and really like it. The stock 1080p is fine for me. The colors do wash out if not looking at it straight on, but this is little concern to me as I'm always sitting directly infront of it. IMO with a laptop gpu and having the 4k option the added heat and resources to hit that res on a 15.6' screen isn't worth it. To be honest I'm not sure why it's even an option.
  4. sager np8651 I have one and it's great with the m.2 ssd it boots into windows 8 in under 5 seconds and has one fan/heat-sink for the cpu (which can get kind of hot around 76C) and a separate heat-sink with 2 fans for the GPU (haven't seen mine get past 64C.
  5. I would try here for drivers. http://www.sagernotebook.com/drivers.php?cat=601 I did a fresh install of 8.1 and installed drivers from here with no issues. For the dGPU issue it could a couple of things. First try fn+esc if you have the hot key driver installed it should pull up the clevo control center (I can't remember if there is anything other than fan control in there, but I think there is power options in there) also check the nvidia control panel to see if the default 3d settings are optimal, intel, or high performance.
  6. I have this laptop as well. I'm assuming you have the sager rebrand? if not look up sager np8651 its the same laptop and they host drivers online. As for the blurry go to your screen resolution and change the dpi scaling to 100% makes it much better imo. I think windows defaulted at 125% on mine.
  7. If anything I would get a tube amp for your m-50x or use it as a preamp to the Denon.
  8. Thank You I have edited my original post to avoid confusion.
  9. So just kind of a general Display question and background first so for the past 3 years or so I have been running with two 22" 1080p monitor's and remember a lot of hype of 2.5k Korean panels that were cheep. I was just looking for some options if I should upgrade I would go with 27" on the 2.5k since I want as close to 100 ppi as I can get. (I have a 1080p 15.6" on my laptop and it just seems too small but it looks better than my 22" 1080p monitor but it is kind of small and dpi scaling is horrible.) So I guess in short given I have never actually used a 2k monitor is something like this (http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-STAR-DP2710-LED-MULTI-27inch-AH-VA-Panel-WQHD-2560x1440-Computer-Monitor-/331180242313?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d1be17589) worth it still and is it likely for me to notice a difference like with my laptop. One big plus I can think of is I will like the 27" much more than my 22". TLDR: Is an upgrade to a 27" 2.5k monitor for $300 dollars from a 22" 1080p monitor worth it?

  11. Okay, Thank you for the info.
  12. 80+c as a constant temp or just if it jumps up that high every once in a while for a second or two?
  13. So I recently picked up a new laptop with a i7 4710HQ and a GTX 970m. This is the first gaming laptop I have owned and it made me think what temps should I be conserned about on the CPU becasue for example in GTA V it sits around 68C - 72C and the GPU maxes at 60C (Granted I have two fans for gpu and only one for cpu). However am I just paranoid because I'm used to seeing a max of 45C - 50C on my desktop.
  14. I just got witcher 3 from a gtx 970m and it was through gog not steam.
  15. I already have a desktop (specs i5-2500k at 4.0 8gb ram and gtx 760) but its just too large. I considered a mini itx build but really like the idea of a laptop. Price really isn't an issue same with battery life really don't need it or care about it. Just wanted to see like do gaming laptops like this due to extra heat slow down more over 3-4 years compared to a desktop or things like that.
