  1. Thanks for the information. You saved a lot of research time for me.
  2. Thank you for your detailed and quick answer. Do you have experience in ML or DL? Don't you think 12 Cores is an overkill as mostly python is used and it is a single threaded. Most of the calculations are done on the GPU and CPU is only used for pre-processing. So I might go for the 2080ti. Also how is the status of Ubuntu on Ryzen? I read it is good and people are not having problems but if you also do ML/DL then I would appreciate your experience.
  3. The models can run for now with 8Gb VRAM. And I do not think I would need more than that in the next year or so. I am from Germany.
  4. Hello Community, I have been doing my deep learning projects on my laptop + cloud. Also I do some light gaming. As my projects are growing, I want to build a PC for my Projects and also for gaming. My budget is 2000€. I already own peripherals (mouse, keyboard, monitor, desk, etc) so this budget is only for the PC. Now I need help from the community to select parts for this PC. Please help me with your suggestions. Thanks
  5. Hi. Thanks for your input. One question, what do you mean by a powered fan header? Fan connecting to System header and not cpu header?
  6. I checked the manual, the rating is not mentioned in the manual.
  7. Hi Community, I have a Lenovo M72E Tiny. The motherboard is IH61I. There is only one fan header and I want to attach one more. Would it be possible to run two fans off one header.
  8. Sorry I mean the first one. The images got jumbled when I uploaded them again. When is this connector. This is not mentioned in the board diagram from lenovo
  9. Thank you for the board diagram. From there I can see that one is a USB Connector and the second the is Serial (COM1) Connector. But the third connector is not mentioned. The images should now be visible
  10. Hi Community, I want to know what the pin headers are for, they are marked in red in the images. This is a Lenovo Motherboard, IH61I. I am not able to find the specifications on this motherboard. My aim is to attach another fan to this motherboard and I was thinking one of these could be used. Thanks.
  11. Thanks for replying. I got two questions to your answer 1. What exactly is a low power fan? 2. How to take power directly from the wall
  12. Hello Community, I bought an old m72e Tiny. I want to add another fan to the housing. But I could only find one Fan Header where the stock cooler is connected. Is it possible to connect another fan to this motherboard?
  13. Hello Ubuntu Users, I am having problems with Remote Desktop from Mac to Ubuntu. What I want to do: I have a MacBook Pro and a Desktop with Ubuntu. The Desktop does not have a mouse, keyboard and a monitor. I want to connect to the Desktop from my Mac via ethernet and use the Desktop GUI. So basically I want a Remote Desktop connection via ethernet. I don’t want to use the ssh -X because I want to the full desktop gui. Could someone please give me a how to for this or point to a how to. Thank you.
  14. @VanBantam Thanks for replying. Yes the compatibility of TR has improved on Linux and I even read it is performing better on Linux as compared to Windows. But I still have a question for you. Why did you go with Threadripper? Isn't i9 7900x faster than TR at Single core speeds and for deep learning, single core speeds are more important.
  15. @JoostinOnline Ok. Thanks for answering the question. It was helpful. And thanks to everyone else also. I will try to find some tests done by machine learning engineers. But now I know more about PCIe lanes. So can dig further.
