  1. That is good to know, any tips to have this work with Windows Server? If needed i can swap to a type 1 hyper-visor and have a linux distro and windows server running simultaneously. (hardware is more than capable)
  2. The thing is id rather not buy a pre-setup DIY solution as I already have the infrastructure and hardware in place that can handle this. SFTP is a good idea, but the only problem is how to set it up on the phone for the transfer. This kind of stuff is completely foreign to me.
  3. I have a home server that I would like to use to store photos from iphone devices and I would like to be able to transfer photos from devices easily. I was thinking setting up FTP would work, but I wanted to see what other options there were available.
  4. You are correct as my servers are not popular enough to warrant the need for a cluster, however, I am looking to increase the amount of 'entities' the servers i host can handle. I heard some applications you can only dedicate so much of cpu cores, or ram before that particular instance is capped.
  5. Awhile back Linus put out a video of him building a minecraft server that utilized 2 system boards with 2 Intel i9 processors. He then managed to split processing resources (im guessing with virtual machines) to have multiple instances of the minecraft server running 1 server and also somehow paired both processors together (even though not physically connected) through software. Here is my questions. What is the exact process needs to be done to prepare a computer/computesr to do the same thing? Also, does this process work for other games or just java or so far just minecraft? I am starting to collect some spare parts and Id hope to use them for game hosting. Right now current game hosting server specs I am using is here at pcpartpicker.com or view the plain text below. Also I realize my network needs to be able to handle the load on many players on at a time. 6. It depends on what you need you computer to do. 8 gb of ram is almost the bare minimum requirement for PC's. Windows 10 OS usually takes up 40% of available RAM. The more you want/need your PC to do. The more RAM you are going to need. If you multitask, i would recommend getting 16gb. But if you run the game and a chat application. 8 GB should be fine. If you are able open Task manager up either on a separate screen or Alt-Tab after you get into a game. And see how much RAM you are using. If you are above 75-80% usage I would look into getting more RAM
  7. yes im on 1803 update, thing is there is another laptop that i knew had access. and i used that just fine. figured it was some update bs, but i updated that laptop to 1803 and so far it still works.
  8. If you want to know for sure with whatever brand/model you get. check the dimension size of the 27in and the Ultra wide. That way you can get the right one for your setup.
  9. I have 2 34in Ultrawide monitors i was looking for the same thing you were, but 27in is bigger than you think. It will not be the same height as a 34in Ultrawide. I measured multiple times. and checked dimensions. I ended up buying a 24.5in monitor is it matches my Ultrawides almost perfect.
  10. Sorry maybe i didnt clarify. I used to have access and was able to see the Computer. Now i cant find that PC or Countless others on the Network. Only a handfull shows up. I talked with the guy who runs the PC and he said nothing on the Router or the PC was changed.
  11. We have a computer at work that everyone uses for cloud storage and they access it through a shared folder on their individual computers. I recently started working here, and i am using my personal laptop for the time being. I found that the shared folder is just a shortcut of the address that you can get if you access the pc via file explorer/Network tab. I never created a shortcut on my desktop, and now i can only see a few PC's on the Network. A fraction of what i was able to see. Not only that but I cant see or seem to find the "server". I have Network discovery set to on, File and Printer Sharing is set to on. The WiFi Network is set to Private. The Guest or Public Discovery are set to on. I have tried resetting the Network Adapter. Ive been googling like crazy and cant seem to find the solution.
  12. Issue is solved, someone else helped me figure it out see the solution here http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3691911/fps-locked.html
  13. Inspector is working, the problem is not the monitor. With inspector i manage to get 1 game so far to 240+fps and that was destiny 2. I noticed that nvidia geforce experience is messing with my fps somehow. Using inspector I removed a fps cap that was set on there and csgo now gets 120 steady, overwatch im still having issues to maintain 240 (starts up at 240 but drops and holds at 60). D2 at homescreen holds at around 240-300 (was never that high) Also I can tell that im runnning higher than 60hz on the monitor because when i move the cursor fast on the 60hz i dont see much ghost trails, but on the 240hz monitor i see more.
  14. I created another post on toms hardware, and i was told to download Nvidia inspector. Its like Nvidia control panel but runs smoother and has more features. Anyways it has a built in fps limiter so i set it to 240 and ran some games. Overwatch starts out at 240 then drops like a rock and holds at 60. Meanwhile CSGO goes to 120 and holds. So im really confused too.
