  1. Hey all who choose to look at this, I'm having an issue where the programs i'm using will stop responding and freeze up on me shortly after waking it up from sleep, I hard power off my system and when I boot it back up it just goes to the bios and won't boot to windows after a save and exit. It will boot to windows eventually after I hard power off from the bios. I have reinstalled windows and then I powered it off to go to work, came back and it happened again when I powered it on. A few days ago it gave me the "System_Serivce_Exception" BSOD and then the "Memory_Management" BSOD. I am at a lose of what to do. If any of you have experienced this or may know what to do I would greatly appreciate any advice you can give. pls... im scared
  2. So I need help. I recently updated my bios (my bios was almost 2 years old) and since then I have had multiple blue screens that I think are all related to some driver issue. I have since updated (I believe) all of my drivers. Audio drivers device drivers etc. but I'm still having issues. Specifically with Overwatch not recognizing my audio devices and just reading them as "unknown". My motherboard is an Asus Prime x370-A, device manager isn't showing any drivers that need to be downloaded and I have no idea what's going on. I thought it might have been because of Voicemode but again... i don't know. I'm contemplating re-doing my bios install or just straight up paying someone to fix what ever shit is going on. I've also gotten a few "audio renderer" errors from Youtube that required a restart. If anyone has any idea of what is going on I would immensely appreciate your input on this. Please I have no idea what's happening and I'm getting scared. Also sorry for the sporadic explanation, I'm kinda anxious about these things.
  3. So I'm wanting to run Ethernet to both my desktop and my switch. Problem is my room is nowhere near the router in our house so I need to do it through the power line. It seems easy enough but I'm just worried about surges and what they could do to my either my computer or what it could do to my switch. The only options I've seen so far would mean losing some connection speed and also buying two extra surge protectors per cable. I was wondering if there are any solutions to this or if I should even be worrying about surges with Ethernet through power line. Any input is much appreciated (side note I intend to use a TP-Link power line adapter for the connection.)
  4. I've had my PC since about June and I have a few problems with it, along with youtube deciding to systematically stutter in predictable patterns, my computer screen is now randomly going black at times. I know my monitor isn't turning off because it's not displaying the "hdmi" message, but it's also almost like it's just not displaying anything at all, like not "displaying black" but acting as if it IS turning off even though it shows no other signs of turning off and it only happens for a couple seconds. It doesn't happen often (it's happened twice now, once yesterday and once today). The only things that I have changed in the past few days that would cause this are fixing my ram to run at the advertized 3200mhz (it was running at 2133mhz before because I didn't have OC tuner turned on in Bios), I got a UPS system and started using it with my computer, and I switched where my headphones were plugged in to from the front of the PC to the back of my mother board. I'm still really new to computers as this is my first Desktop that I've ever built so sorry if I seem inept at this kind of thing, I just need help.
  5. Hello all! So I’ve been having a problem with YouTube having stuttering issues for the past couple months and I don’t know what’s causing it. For context the stuttering isn’t constant and is seemingly random. It happens at random times and has a consistent pattern of “freeze frame, go, freeze frame” everytime it happens and then it’s normal until it just decides to happen again. I’ve tried updating and reinstalling my graphics driver in GeForce experience but it still happens. But my theory of it being another kind of driver comes from when I updated Corsair it for my mouse and keyboard and that made it seem like the problem was fixed... for a short time but then it came back. Could this kind of stuttering be caused by a keyboard and mouse driver like that and I should just uninstall it? Or should I try doing a clean reinstall of my graphics driver with out experience? I’ll also note that I looked at my thermals when the stuttering happened and it doesn’t seem to jump up at all.
  6. What Does this look better? I also got this but had no idea how to mount this either.
  7. So I built a computer a few months ago and the case I used (Coolermaster Master box pro) has 3 front case fans with no dust filters. I bought a few 140mm after market fan filters to try to put on the fans but I have no clear idea of how to do that. I’ve thought about things like electrical tape and tying them to the fans using string but nothing has really worked. Any ideas of what to do? The pics are of the fans without and with the front panel on, and of the filters next to the fans.
  8. wait no... the pro version uses mlc, my evo still uses tlc
  9. yeah, apparently the one i have is rated for about 2000 cycles. Although that's just something I read once
  10. I was wondering how long I can expect my SSD to last based on how much I plan to use it. I have a 500gb samsung 850 evo and I plan to use it as my primary drive for large projects like video editing and animations. I specifically want to know if all of the small additions and changes (repeatedly saving my progress) that come with animations will wear out the SSD faster than usual. At most I might rewrite and write new files as big as 1gb per day and I also plan to have most of my SSD space free. I've tried to read up on it but haven't found much on the topic (that I could understand at least). I've heard that writing really small amounts of data multiple times increases write amplification and wears out SSDs, this is mainly what I'm concerned about, faster but I can't be sure of that (also a little uneducated on what exactly write amplification is). I realize that this may be a relatively un-talked about topic or a topic that no-one really pays that much mind to because everyone can just back up their data on an external drive or something but if anyone can help with this it would be greatly appreciated. And yeah, I do plan on backing up all of my data, I just don't want to unexpectedly have my drive die.
  11. I’ve found one that has display port already, it won’t be in stock for about 2-3 months and it’s $50 more that the one with out display port but yeah, I already have an idea of what I need, I just wanted to know if hdmi+Dp would work.
  12. Hello! So I'm looking to have a dual monitor setup and since my gtx 1050ti only has two ports on it that i'll use (don't wanna go with vga), I want to know if it would work to use displayport for one and hdmi for the other? Also if other options like a displayport to hdmi cable or an hdmi splitter would be better options than different kinds of ports being used? I don't think there would be any problems but... I'm completely new to this and want to know before I buy my second monitor.
  13. Would I be able to run a 1050ti and a quadro p1000 for separate monitors? 1050ti for one and quadro for the other. I wanna know if there would be any problems with switching screens or bringing tabs over between them. Also would 2d animation work benifit from a quadro compared to a 1050ti if it was also powering two screens? (I'm not very knowledgeable on graphics cards so sorry if this sounds like an idiotic question)
  14. Yeah... not much of a difference except slightly better performance with more power draw and worse thermals. At least Ryzen 1 prices will go down now that Ryzen 2 is out... soon? maybe?
