  1. the issues only happens with blackops and its any game mode from blackout to zombies to MP or even one time i left it on the lobby after just loading the game and it still crashed theres no issues with the Vram with anything at all except blackops and its only when i tab out of the game to use my other windows otherwise like i said before the Vram will jsut keep piling up as i play the game and it doesnt ever go down till it crashes or if i restart it before it does that also sometimes the game refuses to reload and just launches a blackscreen that i have to kill with task manager
  2. this only seems to happen when i tab out though, otherwise the Vram just keeps accumulating during regular game play, ill do like 2 or 3 rounds of blackout and then be at 6gb useage in afterburner, and when afterburner shows 8gb i get a DXerror and the game crashes
  3. no i even went to great lengths to make sure black ops was the only thing running
  4. The Vram goes from like 1-2 gb to the cards max of 8gb and the game crashes a few seconds after I tab out to do something else like type in a web address or change a YouTube video, and even when I go back to the game the level of Vram that it managed to eat while I was doing something doesn't go away it just accumulates until it makes the game crash later
  5. yeah if you want to you sure can
  6. yeah thats not ideal but you can literally just go into bios and make your RAM run faster without changing anything els, my kit is 2400 out of the box, with XMP ( the ram OC thing this time not XFR the ryzen thing) but i turned the dram frequency to 3000 with no voltage increase and no timing changes, theres just an option atleast on my asus bios that shows "Dram frequency" and you just select the one you want your ram to run at and boom its done, it will override the XMP frequency but not the XMP timings
  7. no XFR is the new ryzen 2 thing its eXtended Frequence Range and its basically if you have an x470 motherboard and a ryzen 2 cpu with enough cooling it will auto OC itself to the highest it feels safe at which most reviewers show is basically the max stable manual OC anyways
  8. i use a soft rated toothbrush on the back on my graphics card PCBs on my motherboard over my m.2 and on really anything i want to dust in my PC that air cant or isnt doing well enough, and ive never harmed anything, ive even used medium strength toothbrushes, just makesure theres nothing gross on the brush in the first place, i used a new one from a value pack that i bought for cleaning oh also one last thing if you get the kind of tooth brushes that have ridges almost like serration on a knife they work better for cleaning and have less resistance it feels like
  9. its intel but he doesnt like intel so hes calling them shintell which maybe shill intel? shit intel? shittel? idk
  10. yeah the 2600 is great if you overclock it or just use the XFR w/e for 4.1-4.2ish ghz its basically the same as the 2700x clock for clock in games
  11. So I've been poking an old card I have laying around with a DMM and I've noticed that all the shunts on the back are in line with the pcie slot but there's this weird triple SMD bank right next to the 6 pin and the pcie slot So if that's the case then is the GPU core VRM running off the PCIE slot and not the 6pin? If so then what is the 6pin powering or there for even? The first picture is the shunts on the back that show 0.0000 ohms to the pcie slots power pin but random numbers in the 6pins power pins The 2nd picture is the triple SMD bank that shows 0.0000 ohms to the 6pin ( I tested it to the pcie slot as well and it doesn't show 0 ) And the last picture is the other 3 SMDs that shows 0 ohm to the PCIe slots power pin, but again not the 6 pin Anyone got some ideas? I want to add some extra capacitors and maybe a smaller resistor ontop of those shunts to mod the power draw or could I just LM the shunts on the back or should I do it to the 3 capacitor on the front?
  12. just make sure you have buyer protections and even if you get fucked youll get your money back and most likely keep the item
  13. there are plenty of nock off delidding tools that do the same thing the der8auer one does much cheaper, but i did my 8600k with a razor in under a minute just work the corners then the edges go quick, only use the tip of the razor not the whole blade, but do cut the edges ( all 4 ) first with the center of the blade and apply even and upward force into the IHS away from the PCB
  14. well as of right now im not aware of any RGB controlled hardware that works with chroma other than razer items, because it usually works off the motherboard and then from there it would be like asus aura sync or the msi mystic lighting or the gigabyte whatever or who evers, then its a matter of matching those parts and then you could match your chroma to your PCs lighting with a custom light profile
  15. its probably not bottle necking your 1060 at all because its not high end enough to need more CPU power, not till about a 1070 or 1070ti range theres also a great video from either HWUB or techdeals where they do bottleneck comparisons with alot of cards and CPUs its actually really good if anything its a VERY minor bottleneck but i still would hesitate to use that word there
  16. no its defiantly a real 1080 unless they sanded down and reetched the DIE with a 1080 code just like Nvidia does in which case if they did and they still managed to sell it as brand new with all the retail packaging and MSI branding and stickers and shit id actually be impressed especially with how clean it looked and the old thermal paste i cleaned off also my 1080 armor looks just like every other 1080 armor OC ive ever seen except now its got a new cooler so... i dont think its fake atleast im 100% certain
  17. also WTF i just reloaded the game never played a round tabbed out to type that other message and the game crashed before i could go back to it
  18. it seems normal for you? for a game to crash with 8gb of Vram on a 1080? wtf kind of normal are you use to my man
  19. its not affecting system memory ive tested it and the game runs the same with 8gb for me, but it just wont clear its memory cache i guess
  20. can someone please tell me why blackops 4 crashes when its only using like 5gb of Vram? and in game it says its only using less than 2gb? even if you added them together which why would you its still not the 8gb my 1080 has im playing on 1080p all medium or lower settings because on high details in less than 5 mins i hit a vram limit and hard crash with the lovely DX error you see here, the ingame screenshot is just before i went into the game, i played the game for less than a minute and left and then the game crashed at 5gb as seen by afterburner please help
  21. I'm playing on medium settings in 1080p where did you read 4k? and I load the game it uses 2.2gb I start a game it goes to 4 gb before the games over it's near 8gb and next game it hits 8gb and hard crashes dx error memory limit
  22. does anyone know how to get the fan stop feature to work with aftermarket fans on an MSI card? it worked with the stock cooler but i have an armor card so i bought a new cooler with the card and the new fans dont stop spinning, infact the dont go under 50% speed according to afterburners fan tachometer any ideas?
  23. i seem to be crashing to due Vram limitations but i have a 1080 8gb... how is this game using over 8gb on 1080p is anyone els seeing stupid high vram usage? this game idles in the lobby at 2gb Vram and in games its well over 5gb and it keeps creeping up over time til it hits 8gb and i crash this is a screenshot of MSI afterburner OSD after i played a game to get the Vram over 4gb
  24. yes plenty with room to spare a bit or even change graphics cards
  25. if you want the zero RPM fan mode get the corsair RMX 650 it is overkill but it does have better quality
