  1. I can't get past anything beyond the BIOS. Just dead in the water after that.
  2. I am trying to do a fresh install of windows but as soon as I get to the spinning circles, it blue screens with numerous errors such as: whea uncorrectable error 0xc000021a machine check exception But I can get to the BIOS and change settings as long as I like, but nothing past that. So I am trying to figure out if this is a dead/dying CPU or Motherboard. I have tried: several different sticks of ram, even brand new kit, and i've tried in different slots Different SSDs SSD with windows already installed reset CMOS Hardware: i7-10700 NZXT N7 Z490
  3. Correct, the drive was NTFS before format, and was formatted as NTFS again. Everything was working perfectly fine. No changes to the system, only standard Windows/Xbox updates, and I can only assume an update of some kind screwed it.
  4. Hello, I am cross posting this because I am about to rip my hair out of my bald head from this problem. I feel as if the next step is to just do a full fresh re-install of Windows at this point because I am out of options. THE PROBLEM: - When I attempt to install a new game pointed towards my E: drive, it will just blink and do nothing as if I did not click install. When I go into settings > install options > click the drop down for location and select my E: drive, it will just blink and immediately revert back to C: drive. It seems to recognize the drive but is not allowing it. THINGS I HAVE TRIED: * Reinstalled Game Services * Format E: Drive * Rename WindowsApps to .old * Changed E: drive ownership to "Everyone" and allowed permissions to all users/groups to "Full Control" * Uninstall and Reinstalled Xbox App * Deleted "GamingServices" & "GamingServicesNet" registry entrys * Changed install location to E: through Windows Settings I have already installed and used my E: drive in the past before with Xbox App. I can even access and play games through Xbox app that are installed on E:. I just can't install new games. I can install and set install location on every other drive available on my system, except the E: drive. I have a video linked here to show what's going on. Please advise. https://youtu.be/Jm5IIsSKtGI
  5. @tkitch Not behind a VPN @whispous Yes I have performed factory reset to the router. It did nothing.
  6. I am at my wits end here. I cannot pass google's ReCaptcha test. The one where you have to select the Fire Hydrants, ya know? It falls into an infinite loop and it just keeps giving me captcha's until they disappear, then it will give me an error message saying "Your computer or network may be sending automated queries" This happens on BOTH PC and my iPhone (When my phone is connected to WiFi) iPhone Browser: Safari PC Browser: Firefox When I turn off WiFi on my phone and connect to the cellular data, The Captcha test will pass with no problems. I have tried resetting my router/modem and that did not work. I have tried resetting Firefox and that did not work. I don't even know where to look anymore. This is becoming an actual problem as most websites rely on that stupid Captcha test to login, and I cannot log in. Please Advise!
  7. I feel super dumb even asking this question but to be honest it's bugging me. I recently bought and installed a Ryzen 9 5900X, and I wanted to play with curve optimizer and test around with CB23. I've done this before on my previous 5800X. I set my curve optimizer to "per core" and changed all of them to negative -25 to start off, and switched power limits to "motherboard" which of course maxes every limit out. I then proceeded to run multi core bench on cinebench 23 and went back into curve optimizer in bios, and noticed one of my cores was actually on positive 25. So I gave one of my cores +25 steps positive voltage with all the power limits maxed. Could that have damaged the chip? Or that degrade that core? As a PC guy I feel dumb because I'm a little out of my element here and made an overlooked mistake. I'm a little nervous about it, if I'm being honest.
  8. I recently bought a Ryzen 9 5900X for my X570 TUF Gaming Plus and I wanted to get some better educated opinions on this matter; Do I need to plug in the additional 4-pin power connector for CPU? I already have the 8-pin installed, but honestly I am having trouble locating my extra PSU cables (since its modular) and I wanted to ask if I even need the additional cable? Please let me know, thanks!
  9. In the middle of building a PC for a friend, I am using an ASUS ROG Strix RX 460 with a 6-pin power connector and I am running Unigine Heaven benchmark to make sure everything is working properly, I have the AMD Overlay on and its showing no more than 60W to the card. This can't be right since it has the additional 6-pin power that is properly connected to the PSU. Keep in mind, everything is stock with brand new Windows 11, only drivers have been installed. Am I going crazy here?
  10. So the best way I can explain, I updated bios months ago when I first purchased my board to version 4021, fast forward to today, I am on the asus bios downloads page and I thought it was interesting that I could not find my current version listed so I decided to check the non-wifi version of my board, and that board has a version 4021, which leads me to believe I installed the wrong board's bios at the time, unknowingly. So with this being said, I have not had any issues with this bios and everything has been running fine the last few months. Should I update my bios to the most current? (version 4403)
  11. So here's my attempt to give a simple explanation: USB volume knob was first plugged into PC about a month ago, has been working flawlessly I moved my tower because I was rearranging furniture so of course I had to completely unplug every thing. Now, my USB volume knob does not work after waking up from sleep. I can unplug/replug from the USB port and that will make it work again, or I can restart and it works no problem. But when my PC wakes up from sleep, volume knob does not work. The lights are on so its definitely getting power. This is driving me crazy because absolutely nothing changed. No settings changed. I have a lot of USB ports on the back of the mobo, so I don't quite remember which exact port I plugged it into but I dont see how that would affect. What I have tried to do is disable "Usb selective suspend setting" in power options but that did not work. Send help!
  12. Yes I can still highlight items no problem. It's just odd that its only happening on which ever display is selected as the Main display. When my 2nd monitor is "Main Display", 1st monitor does not have this bug and vice-versa when I switch out.
  13. Honestly, I can't answer that question. I just now noticed it and I have not tested any thing else to see if this is affecting any thing else. It may affect other stuff but I have not found it yet, or it might be just an annoyance.
  14. https://streamable.com/hq3vux Video of problem is above. PROBLEM When on Desktop, I drag cursor for the highlight box and it freezes until cursor comes to full stop. This does not occur on 2nd monitor. I went into Display Settings and made second monitor main display by selecting "Make this my main display" and it started because my second monitor became my main display but the problem went away on the other monitor, but of course I had to switch back. So it is definitely software relate and nothing to do with hardware. THINGS I'VE TRIED Rolling back GPU drivers Uninstalling latest windows update "Update for Microsoft Windows KB4589212" Switching "Make this my main display" but problem stops on first monitor and carrys on to second monitor Closing mouse software (razer synapse) which I have used for well over a year and never had this issue before Unplugging second monitor completely from GPU What else can I try? Any body have any idea?
  15. So I am trying to get my ARGB fans to stay on this look However the closest I can achieve is enabling "Rainbow" mode on ASRock RGB software but it cycles through all colors and only hits that ARGB color set for half a second before it cycles through the rest of the colors. So I want to keep it static on that "Aqua-Purple-Bluish White" like in the picture above. Is there a way?
