  1. I'm on the Dell website. The G7 with an i7-8750H,6GB 1060 but with only 256GB ssd, at $1,080 http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops/new-dell-g7-15-gaming/spd/g-series-15-7588-laptop/dncwfsb632s
  2. Hey Linus. Huge fan! I'm a student in the market looking for a gaming laptop under a $1000 or close to that price point. Dell recently released the "Dell G7 15 7588" lineup of laptops featuring 8th Gen i7 and GTX 1060 within this price range. I was wondering if you'd be so kind as to make time for a review and let us know your opinion on the laptops and whether its a good purchase for someone who would like to use it for both daily school work as well as gaming. Is it as good as the Predator Helios 300 or even better? Is the price to performance ratio good? All questions that would be nice to have answered. So please if possible make this happen.

I've read a ton of reviews complaining about quality control and overheating so i wanted to explore a bif before making a choice.
how long have you had yours and how has it held up? any issues with it? or anything in particular you're not fond of?

I have had mine since Aug. (not my main PC though) and it stays cool. My only issue is the brush medal will get dings on the sides over time and they are noticeable (This also happened on the brush metal keyboard on my Dell Venue 11 pro Tablet too).

  3. Could I please get a link to that. Wonder if there's a model that isn't a Max-Q
  4. the $999 Model sports only an i5 and 256GB SSD. I think that'll affect my performance a bit. So I guess I'll have to wait a bit longer to make a choice. Thanks for the suggestion though. There's a model with an i7 , 256GB SSD as well as a 1TB HDD and 16GB RAM but that's $1200 and out of my budget.
  5. I'm not axing out both. Just the Helios 300. What I meant to say incase it was misunderstood was, Does anyone have any experience with the ROG GL502VM by any chance. And if so, what's your opinion on it?
  6. Thanks mate, The ASUS FX503VM seems like a good deal. Hope it goes on sale again during summer
  7. Hey guys. I've got a fixed budget of $1000 ($1100 if i really push it, which id rather not) to buy a laptop. I plan on using it for both school work (taking it to school everyday), and gaming. I've already checked out the Acer Predator Helios 300 and there's a lot of complaints about quality control so that's out of the question. i need a laptop that fits the following criteria for a maximum of $1100 - Durable/Good build quality - IPS display - GTX 1060 or better - i7 anything 6th Gen or later - 1 TB HDD - LESS THAN AN INCH THICK *i plan on making the purchase during summer but need to communicate with my parents on my choice. If that helps with anything* (I've also seen the Asus ROG GL502VM[$950] but there's quite a few complaints, Anyone have an opinion on it?) So please. Any suggestions? *Anything but Clevo*
  8. The reviews i read are a mixed bag. Some say its good others complain about it shipping with errors.
  9. Lo Location- Ghana Weight - less than 3kg but i dont really mind No online stores. I do however shop on Amazon and bestbuy by shipping to relatives who then fly it by DHL so any of those websites are fine. Thanks
  10. I have a fixed budget of about $1100 to buy a laptop which is suitable for school and gaming.id like it to be as thin as a gaming laptop can be at that price range. Ive checked out the Acer Helios 300 but there are several reviews on Amazon saying that it's very unreliable and often ships with issues or dies within less than a year. So. Does anyone know of any good laptop with at least a 1060 thats going for $1100 or less?
  11. I have an all-in-one HP desktop. It has VGA and DisplayPort at the back but no HDMI. I want to get a custom built Desktop without having to buy a new monitor due to budget issues. I was wondering if there was a way to find out whether the DisplayPort at the back is an input or output without connecting a separate monitor as i do not own any DisplayPort capable devices or even a DisplayPort cable. My PC is an HP ProOne 400 G1 if that helps.
