  1. The Asus GU501GM has all those specs with a 1060 and 120Hz display but no G-sync. Only major con is that it runs hot due to its thinness
  2. but if you do want these specs as well as the thin and light factor check out the ASUS Zephyrus M or the Asus GU501GM (although I'm not sure you will find the 501 as its only been released in the US)
  3. my bad. that post about the 1070 was for another thread on the forum. Guess i got confused and mixed up the posts
  4. Id recommend the 1070Ti, its going to handle your games easily at 1080p and the coffee lake CPU is very powerful as well so you're not limited to just gaming
  5. Do you plan on gaming? and does it have to be thin and light
  6. Okay this is good as well.the MX150 is a decent dPGU as long as you don't plan to do ant heavy gaming
  7. get something with an i7 and a dGPU and at least 12gb ram (i myself am looking for a laptop with a similar budget but don't mind the size)
  8. You could with your budget being a max of 1300 i believe? But you'd be giving up that 14" screen for a larger one you are keen on that screen size then i think the inspiron 13 is a good choice
  9. All the specs seem good but it has an integrated GPU, for your animations i think a Dedicated GPU would do you some good
  10. i believe so. Its quite CPU intensive
  11. If you're fixed on getting a sub 14" screen then i suggest that you just stick with the i7 model of the xps
  12. Under 14". wow. the only thing i can think of that's less than 14 is an alienware R3 13.3" but it goes for around 1400 and only has 8GB ram
  13. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/msi-17-3-laptop-intel-core-i7-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1060-1tb-hard-drive-black/6091707.p?skuId=6091707 try this
  14. What currency are you working with?
  15. Does it have to be a thin and light?
  16. As in quality wise. Any issues? its basically a budget model of the Zephyrus so i wanted to know if theres any major differences in quality except specs. is this clear enough?
  17. Try this link and scroll down a bit -> https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-i7-7700HQ-1060-6GB-G3-571-77QK/product-reviews/B06Y4GZS9C/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_viewopt_kywd?ie=UTF8&filterByStar=one_star&reviewerType=all_reviews&pageNumber=1&filterByKeyword=gpu#reviews-filter-bar Also provided 2 screenshots. Hope this helps with your purchasing decision. I've cancelled the Helios 300 from my list of possible purchases
  18. SInce this is here what about the Asus GU501GM. where does it line up?
  19. i don't know much about laptops as i myself am looking for one to get for school and gaming as well but the Asus - ROG GU501GM about 1200 euros its got a 1060 6GB, i7 8th gen, 16GB RAM, 1 TB Hdd and 128 SSD. The only major complaints ive seen regarding it are heat because it is quite thin at 0.7" but give it a look if you can. Also doesn't strike as too gamer looking so that's a bonus
  20. Not an Asus Fanboy. i just find that for my budget and specs that i want the listed laptops fit the bill. If you do have any other suggestions please feel free to let me know.
  21. Also if you end up settling with something else stay away from anything with a 1050 or 1050Ti unless you have no choice. They are now in a lower tier group if you're looking to play any AAA titles at 1080 with reasonably high presets
  22. What exactly is your budget? I'm looking to buy a laptop myself. I'm a student. Need a laptop for both school and gaming. Started a thread on here and i got quite a few different recommendations for my budget of $1000, If thats your budget as well the following list may help 1) Asus ROG GL502VM -> i7-7700HQ, GTX 1060 3GB with G-Sync, 12GB RAM, 1TB HDD (usually goes on sale at best buy online for as low as $1000) 2) Asus FX503VM-> i7-7700HQ, GTX 1060 3GB with G-Sync, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD and 128GB SSD (goes on sale on amazon for $1000) 3) Dell G7 7588 -> i7-8750HQ, GTX 1060 6GB, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD (on dell website for $1,080) DO NOT GET AN ACER PREDATOR HELIOS 300 i don't own one but the reviews ive read all complain about poor quality control as they often ship with issues with some people even reporting dead GPU's after just 3 months [Incase your budget is $1500 -> Asus ROG GL702VS: i7-7700HQ, GTX 1070 8GB with G-Sync, 12GB RAM,1TB HDD and 128GB SSD and a 75Hz display] i personally think with $1000 the GL502VM is the best bet, but i hope by summer there's more options to choose from
  23. How's the 502VM holding up as of now quality wise and performace? and how long have you had it for? its one of my candidates for a laptop for school and gaming

Hey Linus. Huge fan! I'm a student in the marke…

I've read a ton of reviews complaining about quality control and overheating so i wanted to explore a bif before making a choice. how long have you had yours and how has it held up? any issues with it? or anything in particular you're not fond of?
