  1. Okay so background, doing an internship under the CS department at my high school and my job is to make an app that takes the calendar we have on our website (its a Google Calendar) and basically use the Google Calendar API in order to display the same information but on an Android phone. Has anyone ever used the Google Calendar API for Android? Is their any good documentation on it? My original plan was to use Github/Phonegap and use the JS version of the API, but that is only supported in browsers. I have done some work in C# so Java isn't super insane for me but I am not expert. TL;DR: 1. Have you ever used the Google calendar API on Android? (What was your experience) 2. Do you know a good place where it is documented? (Have tried following the Google instructions, a little confused) 3. Is this not possible for whatever reason?(I am 99% sure its possible, and by possible, I mean doing this with the Gcalendar API into Android, no work around) Yes, I know that there is applications out there that make this easier by letting you import Google calendars, but I was given this job I didn't choose it. The interns last year couldn't figure any of it out so now I am here trying to do it.
  2. The bigger question I am interested in is how many fans do you run in your machine, I asked what type of case so we have an idea of how much those fans exactly do. For example four fans in a small HTPC case is much more useful than four fans in a TJ11. Currently I have a Corsair 400R, my graphics card has one fan and same for the power supply. There is 10 other fans that I have installed. They are all Cooler Master fans that come 4-in-1 packs. I have them all wired to an NZXT touchscreen fan controller, 2 fans for every channel on the controller. So total 12 fans, and the loudest thing in my computer is the hard drives that spin at 7200RPM because the fans can be run at such a low RPM. Also to clarify I use a Corsair H50 cooler, so two of the fans out of ten are on the radiator for that in push pull. Fan locations: 2 Fans are located at the front grill for intake 1 fan is sucking air through the hard drives from these fans in the front 1 fan is located in front of the power supply (also intake) 2 fans on my side panel as intake 2 fans as exhaust on my radiator 2 fans on the top of the case as exhaust Power Supply and GPU fan So, how many fans have you squeezed into what case? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I wasn't sure if I should put this under Cases and PSU's or air cooling, so it ended up here.
  3. Don't know why I didn't think of this, I keep the boxes to all of my computer parts. Thanks! If about the dish soap, I am talking Dawn used for handwashing, not Cascade that goes in a dishwasher. If for the overall obsessive nature, I like to keep my nice things looking nice and take pride of ownership very seriously.
  4. Recently I have put my old Dell keyboard on the shelf (I used the old one because the keys were hard, loved the loud sound and feel) for a CM Storm QuickFire Rapid (10keyless for easier transportation) and am loving the Cherry MX Blue Switches. I am kind of obsessed at keeping it nice. I use dishwashing soap to wash my hands before I use it so there is no grease. So my question is; how do you guys transport your keyboards? Just throw it in a bag? I was wondering if there is some type of hard cover case for a keyboard that I could buy in order to prevent it from getting damaged. Thanks all! -Hasan
  5. Currently using a Cooler Master CM Storm Quickfire Rapid with Cherry MX Blues. It is the compact so it has no number pad, but it feels insanely awesome. One of the best keyboards I have ever used. If you want the numberpad then you can always just get the full version.
  6. I was 13 years old. I was watching LinusTechTips videos with all my spare time. I lived, breathed, and ate computer videos. I was doing all this from a netbook. One day my grandpa sees my drive and my potential and invests $500 in me and tells me to go and build a computer. AMD Phenom II X2 B55 (This was unlocked to a quad core, then overclocked to 4GHz on the STOCK AIR COOLER. This chip was a monster, great for me as a beginner because it stayed so freaking cool! When I caved and bought a Corsair H50, I was able to push it to 4.3GHz stable, this was with no voltage increases period. I was afraid I would break the computer in doing so XD) ASUS M4A87TD EVO 4GB Generic RAM NZXT M59 ATI Radeon 5450 530 Raidmax power supply (bad idea. needed to replace) Today I run: AMD Phenom II X6 1045t (OC to 3.7) ASUS M4A87TD EVO (same) 16GBs Corsair Vengeance 1600 Zalman Z9 (getting changed very soon) Corsair GS700 (learned where I SHOULDN'T be cheaping out) MSI 7770GHz (Went 5450 -> 5750 -> 7770GHz) If it hadn't been for my grandfather, I would not be 16 going into the track to the field of IT now.
  7. An update: Went with the 7770 even though the 650Ti was faster because of a better price plus it had the connector I needed with no converter. Thanks!
  8. Hi guys, I am in the market for a new video card. I only have $100 to spend, and that is plenty for me because I don't do any major gaming at all. Currently I am running: AMD Phenom II X6 1045t (OC to 3.7GHz) 16GB Corsair Vengence 1600 RAM Samsung 840 Pro ATI Radeon 5750 The only game I really play is Dota 2, running on a 42inch TV running at 1080p. Doesn't take much graphic horsepower at all. I am just wondering if anyone has any idea which one of these cards would preform better or if anyone has had good/bad experiences with any of these cards. I am leaning towards the 650Ti because it has 768 Cuda cores versus the 384 on the superclocked 650 and I do a little bit of video editing in Premiere for YouTube and it would work nice with the Mercury Engine. Thanks! -Hasan
  9. Figured out the whole waiting room deal and then it worked well.
  10. I wasn't paying attention when Slick was telling us, the TwitchChat isn't working, HELP
  11. I use Amazon and Newegg to shop, when I got to other sites like YouTube and my email, there is advertisements for things that I have searched on Newegg or Amazon. These ads I could care less about, but I want to know that if they are looking at this what else can they see? Can they see the contents of my emails? Can they open my attachments that are personal or business documents? (Rhetorical questions) Although SOME ads come from malicious websites, definitely not all. I use AdBlock, but I Whitelist websites such as YouTube and others where I know guys are trying to make a living off of advertisements.
  12. I was pretty sure it was a troll because the mic and the music didn't sound the same lol I wonder if Linus or Slick will come across this thread and see that you trolled.
  13. I'm also in highschool, and in NJ if your phone goes off during one of those you would be in less trouble if you cheated and got caught.
  14. My question, what is the worst time your phone could go off? It can be hypothetical, but real life experiences are much funnier. I'll start; During the LinusTechTips live stream, there was a guy who called in. His ringtone went off. Anyone who was watching this knows why hilarity ensued.
