Looking for new monitor. No clue what to look for.

Bump, still no answer. Still browsing the web. All getting the same recommendation the Asus VG248QE which is all fun and stuff but I bet there is newer stuff that is more recommendable on the market? -

Bump? Also apparently I never saved the updates in my signature lol. -
Hi all, I've been out of the scene regarding monitor tech for a long time, even tech in general, last time I was here was 2015 lol. Anyway, I've been rocking 2 old monitors for quite some time now but I've started to notice some annoyance with them as games are changing and my main monitor is more a TV when it comes to it. At this time I am using a LG 24MA53 which is a TV/PC monitor running on 75Hz (which is quite annoying with 60fps locked games) Lately I've been noticing that contrast and colours for example are no longer being displayed in a decent way. Colours are washed out and contrast, especially with some titles is a nightmare. (Let's ignore BF here) My 2nd monitor which is for reading only is a very old Samsung SyncMaster T220 (1680x1050). One main thing I've always noticed is the response rate from my old Samsung monitor vs my now main monitor was faster. My current one is on 5ms I believe and I used to have 2Ms. That has always been bugging me. But I really need help to decide what to look for. Budget: €300 (with some range) *Living in The Netherlands Some preferences: - Good with colors - Fast responserate - High Hz is possible but I have a question about it. My rig can be seen in the signature but to be sure: I7 6700k Asus Maximus VII Hero 16GB DDR4 2666Mhz GTX 1080 SC ACX from EVGA The question: What's the use of a 144hz or at least higher Hz monitor if you do not achieve the same number in FPS? For example, I have locked Battlefield 1 to 80FPS because it lowers the CPU usage a lot which is great for streaming. If more details are needed, feel free to ask! All help is appreciated.

Running 2way SLI 780's myself and I know that the option you want to tick, only can be ticked when you have the monitors in different cards. Right now, SLI is (as far as I know from my setup) activated and carrying your monitors. So I do think you have bumped into a limit here.

HDD issue, weird modus, constant use.
TheGamingLawNL replied to TheGamingLawNL's topic in Troubleshooting
I just found, (finally) the english page containing the exact same as the dutch one. And I found that Wisselbestand translates to the following "or any partition that contains the virtual memory paging file" So it appears to be that the drive is having a virtual memory paging file. Either way. It slows the drive a lot. Edit: I found the location of what and where. So it is a virtual memory page file. Which can be controlled. But now the question is, is the file needed by windows?- 14 replies

I guess, I cannot remove the drive at all as in "unallocated space" and I can downsize it to 200GB and not less. I do not know what happened to the drive before I got it apart from that it still works- 14 replies

Hi LTT members, I'm stuck with an HDD issue which I fail to understand and thus to resolve. To jump right in, here's an image of the drive in question. The image is in Dutch for those who wonder. It shows that the drive is a primary and simple partition/drive. Which is good. But it's also in "Wisselbestand", I do not know how to translate this properly but roughly it gets translated to "exchange file" or at least something with "exchange". Trying to find out what it is through google I did not find much help. In Dutch there was literally no support to be found other than, "it can't be removed" from the windows site. How did this happen? By just installing the drive, it's a 2nd hand drive. It's a WD Blue which I am happy about but well, the drive is quite slow now and constantly in use by it seems windows. Edit: The issue appears to be about "Virtual Memory Page File" which is located on this drive and keeping it in constant use. I found a way to control it and even remove it. Yet the question remains if that can just be done, or that windows itself does need a file like this.

Reading through this it could've also been like this if it weren't for the short time span.

(I am aware of the preferred methods of giving details, for some reason however I am unable to execute with admin cmd the perfmon /report command) HI, I just had 2 BSOD's in a row (within 30 minutes of each other) having the issue stated from the title. I have been browsing on the internet and well there's quite some options but I didn't really find mine. As I firstly stumbled across RoG forums (which made sense to me) I found out it could've been an Asus tool. This were to be true if I had it installed in the first place. Which isn't the case. Unfortunately when it comes to BSOD stuff and giving you guys the dump etc I am 100% a newbie. I do have this from WhoCrashed. On Thu 18-6-2015 23:58:24 GMT your computer crashed crash dump file: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\061915-32406-01.dmp This was probably caused by the following module: netio.sys (NETIO+0x4C7EC) Bugcheck code: 0x3B (0xC0000005, 0xFFFFF801ACA4C7EC, 0xFFFFD000333A2C00, 0x0) Error: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION file path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\netio.sys product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System company: Microsoft Corporation description: Network I/O Subsystem Bug check description: This indicates that an exception happened while executing a routine that transitions from non-privileged code to privileged code. This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem. The crash took place in a standard Microsoft module. Your system configuration may be incorrect. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver on your system that cannot be identified at this time. Interesting to add. The following is related to AVG On Thu 18-6-2015 23:58:24 GMT your computer crashed crash dump file: C:\WINDOWS\memory.dmp This was probably caused by the following module: avgwfpa.sys (avgwfpa+0x8B3C) Bugcheck code: 0x3B (0xC0000005, 0xFFFFF801ACA4C7EC, 0xFFFFD000333A2C00, 0x0) Error: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION file path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\avgwfpa.sys product: AVG Internet Security company: AVG Technologies CZ, s.r.o. description: AVG Firewall driver Bug check description: This indicates that an exception happened while executing a routine that transitions from non-privileged code to privileged code. This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem. A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: avgwfpa.sys (AVG Firewall driver, AVG Technologies CZ, s.r.o.). Google query: AVG Technologies CZ, s.r.o. SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION Note how same time has been reported off the crash. Anyway I have no clue how to solve this. Interesting part might be, I am currently downloading my steam games and internet is under heavy load. Which seems to have to do a lot with these crashes. My specs are in my signature.

I can't resist but it would be funny if you went up to your mom and ask about it, then she admits and appears to be one of the biggest spammers in the world -
