  1. There are many problems with implementing too much stuff on the server or the client. If You put too much trust in the client we will end up with a quake arena anticheat where you can have godmode, if you put too much trust on the server, any ping higher than 5 will start to cause problems and the lag compensation won't be enough. It's a balancing game. There are a lot of games which partition the map and check to see which partition will be visible and show the character, a good example is csgo where you can't use esp more than 2 map partitions far. From personal experience, the arma 3 anticheat, battle eye anti cheat, is one that works pretty good. It's a bit invasive but it works wonders. I've never seen accounts that last more than a day at best, and ragers get banned in less than half an hour. I've personally tried to co-develop a cheat for arma 3 and the anticheat has been the biggest headache we've ever seen. The mouse is the least of the problems, the are humanizers being handed left and right for more legit looking play, and some of them are pretty good. Recoil (RCS) can also be handled in a humanized way with random seeds and fine tuning, etc, this is one of the main ways to not trigger faceit when using small amounts of aim and some RCS. I can name providers that give such granularity so you don't just have to believe a random guy's word.
  2. Disc media is both good and bad. For kinda long term storage, in perfect condition it will hold data for 20+ years, but it's write once, read many times. I only use disc media only when forced to since after use it becomes basically e-waste (you can't re-write a blue ray that many times before it becomes unusable or data rottens too fast)
  3. Personally? As often as needed. If what I do doesn't work properly anymore, then an upgrade is needed. I upgraded from a Ryzen 5 2600 at launch to a Ryzen 9 5950x this Christmas. Etc. My bar is just stuff working properly and in a timely manner.
  4. PSA: This is from my personal experience of developing cheats and anti cheats, I've been on both sides of the fence. Anticheat development is a cat and mouse game with the cheaters and the end users. You can't make an anitcheat that is too invasive and too hardware expensive, yet you need it to be efficient in catching external cheats, packet mods, etc. As with cheaters, the incentive will always be there, you cannot make a perfect anti cheat, aimbot is easier to detect, but ESP hacks? Let's look at tarkov with external PC cheats where you use a second PC to capture packets and get radar / esp visuals. The cheat developers make a lot of money from this market and will always try to develop better and better cheats that are less detectable. The only way to make something "cheat proof" (something impossible) is server-side everything. Lets look at league of legends where the only cheats are some esp and aiming scripts for spells, but still, you can't escape cheats. The only way to make cheating less viable is to harden anticheats to make development more expensive, meaning more expensive cheats. CSGO cheags are as cheap as 3 euros a month, LOL cheats are as cheap as 60 a month. 20 times the price! I can explain more if needed, as i said in the PSA, I've been on both sides of the fence, developing cheats and anti cheats.
  5. For anyone wondering about it, Fiberlink 10g is still yet to be rolled out to the general population of Bucharest. Digi's answer to this problem was "the pandemic has pushed back the general rollout". I've spoken with multiple employees of that ISP about it cause I want to move from my 1g pack to the 10g pack. For the last few months I've received the same answer over and over. Typical Romanian stuff...
  6. I never seen this one mentioned in about any forum post, but it's basically the Windows Archive system but on 'roids. It's still the same functionality as it being compressed, but still being able to run with no trouble at all, but with better compression and faster algorithm. It's free and open source. I will leave a few examples of how it performs: CS:GO: 32.8 GB to 21.0 GB Mafia Definitive Edition: 28.6 GB to 27.9 GB hitman : 45 gb to 35.9 gb Adobe Premiere Pro 2020: 3.03 gb to 1.60gb Ghost Runner: 20.8gb to 12.8gb Rust: 15.3gb to 10.2 gb TF2: 21.7gb to 12.5gb Cod warzone: 114gb to 111gb (worst result out of all tbh) As always, results may vary on the use case, not everything is compressible, and even if it is, don't expect it to go from 4 TB to 12GB I know it doesn't sound amazing, but when you're running out of space on your SSD, every GB matters, and it takes almost no processing power to "decompress" them while using. https://github.com/Freaky/Compactor Also, a photo to improve my point, My SSD has 236GB of available space in Windows, but I have 323.92GB of raw data on it, but compressed down to 186GB
  7. Hi, I've recently got into streaming again, and I wanted to make my stream look beautiful (as always it won't). When I wanted to use some kind of shader, I found a big problem, my Minecraft is capped at 30 FPS with Shaders on, but it goes into 400FPS without shaders. I've tried extreme path tracing shaders, and shaders like Seus LITE (the one that works on intel integrated graphics fine), tried any combination of these, from extremely low end shaders, to the Seus PTGI 14 path tracing, all with the same 30 FPS. Things I have tried to fix this issue: 1. Go into the nvidia control panel thingy, add javaw.exe to the 3d application settings panel, set the threaded optimization off and on, low latency, max frame rate, power management, vsync, all the possible combinations (of off and on, and 144 - 288fps for the max framerate, since I have a 144hz monitor) 2. Tried changing to different 1.15.2 optifine versions, the older beta and newer beta, and opti-fabric. 3. Tried using 1.12.2 and 1.14 4. Tried multiple versions of optifine for those versions 5. Yes, I tried to even upgrade repair, reset to stock and reinstall Windows 10 (I can't move to Linux since 90% of my software doesn't work on it. Believe me, I want to move to Linux, but I can't.) Specs: GPU: Asus Rog Strix Cu Oc II GTX 970, driver version 445.87. CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 @ 4.2GHz, under 70 degrees constant, with all the AMD chipset and ryzen master drivers things installed. Mobo: MSI B450 Gaming Plus, latest msi bios for this mobo. Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x16GB 3000 CL 16 kit, oc'd ad 3200 CL 16 (i've been lucky asf here). Will provide further info if asked to. Thanks for reading my post, and thanks in advance for trying to help me, luv u <3.
  8. Hi, I've been trying for the last few weeks to underclock my GTX 970 GPU but to no luck. MSI Afterburner doesn't want to open the "CTRL+F" screen and the option to lower the voltage is not working at all, I can only increase it in 12mv steps. I'm using the latest Nvidia Drivers and the latest stable build of MSI AfterBurner. I have checked the "low level I-O" , kernel acces mode, unlock voltage and monitoring control. My GPU is a GTX 970 Asus Strix OC Direct Cu II (STRIX-GTX970-DC2OC-4GD5)
  9. I have managed to resolve it with help from a friend. First I opened CMD as admin Then I used the DiskPart command List Disk Select disk *number* CLEAN Then open Disk Management and use the initialize option and use MBR Works a charm.
  10. Sorry for the misunderstanding, when it comes to software I can say that I'm a certified noob.
  11. going to try it out, I will come back in half an hour or so.
  12. Already tried the software part, doesn't work. The Linux distro as said in my post, is not a viable option as I have some software (that I use on a daily basis that are "vital) that doesn't work on Linux, or when it does, the setup is so hard that it's better off not to do it all together.
  13. Already tried it, the "delete" button is greyed out. Also, I have no problem in deleting the partitions, I have a problem in fusing them together. The partitions are already deleted, but Windows cannot be assed to make them 1 whole partition when making a new volume. Thx for fast answer though.
  14. On short: Disk had 3 partitions, deleted all 3, 2 of them refuse to stitch together, tried both new volume and extend volume, but extend volume converts to dynamic volume then spits out insufficient disk space. Full story: Hi, I have recently encountered a problem with my 4 years old HDD when I have tried to install AMD StoreMI, it encountered an error saying that my disks are partitioned and it cannot work with that, I've tried to fix that and I have noticed that one of my HDDs have had an "OEM" part and an "EFI" part, I have deleted both but now the 600MB part refuses to mix with the 930gb partition, I have tried multiple programs and tried some *extremely* basic CMD mumbo jambo. Even tried to delete the HOLE partition and try to make a new one, still no luck... I can provide further info if the need be, I tried adding as many details about my problem and hardware I'm using to make your job easier. OS: Windows 10 PRO 1903 build 18362.239 (I know, I shouldn't be using it, but I got a lot of software that I'm scared it won't work on the godly Linux *name of distribution*) Specs: -CPU: AMD Ryzen 2600 -Mobo: MSI B450 Gaming Plus ATX -PSU: Riotoro Onyx 750W -GPU: Asus Strix OC Direct CU II GTX 970 -SSD: Adata XPG SX8200 PRO 256GB m.2 PCIe x4 -Ram: Corsair VENGEANCE LPX 32GB 2x16 DDR4 3000MHZ CL16 -HDD 1 (the problematic one): HDD WD Blue 1TB 5400RPM -HDD 2: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM
