  1. So, lately, I've had a heavy want to upgrade something in my PC, but I'm at a difficult place with my PC build not really being able to upgrade to a one of the latest CPU's or whatever without having to upgrade my RAM and Motherboard all together! So, what do you guys think? Should I just man-up and just save up some money to upgrade all those together or should I do something else? PC Build: CPU: Intel Core i5 4690K 3.50 GHz (with stock cooler) GPU: EVGA GeForce GRX 1070 8 GB VRAm Motherboard: ASUS Z97-E RAM: 16.0 GB DDR3 799 MHz What do you guys think? I've also got a pretty low budget at the time, but looking for prices around 300 or less.
  2. You don't want to accidentally plug it into the wrong port!
  3. Actually, you know what? I think it might be one of two things, either my CPU is old and messed up, or it needs some thermal paste.
  4. Alright, thank you so much for the help that you could provide. I'll continue to try to fix all this stuff.
  5. Temperatures are completely good, I'll have multiple things running at once my computer at times and have only about 55 F. It shouldn't be it, I just installed it a couple days ago for the RGB LED stuff with my GPU. I've been having these issues for a little while now.
  6. Shouldn't be, I don't have any sort of temperature issues.
  7. Oh, crap, I actually got that wrong. I've got a antec 500w ea500d. I'll update that.
  8. Alright, before I get into the issue and examples, let me give my specs. Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW 8 GB GDDR5 CPU: Intel Core i5 4690K 3.50GHz RAM: 16 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 799MHz Motherboard: ASUS Z97-E Power Supply: ANTEC 500w (EA-500d Green) Operation System: Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 0402, 11/12/2014 Alright, now, let's get into the beef of the issue. So, not until recently, I've been playing more performance intensive games and I've noticed that I'm unable to keep up with my friend that has the completely same specs. Example: An example of this is when I was playing Black Ops III: Zombies with him and he was getting around 120 frames or so, I was stuck at 60 and constantly getting FPS drops that would drop around 20 - 40 frames and sometimes I'd get stuck there. (Yes, I'm aware that BO III is highly optimized, it's not just games like Black Ops III that I have this issue with.) Things I've Tried: 1. I've tried cleaning my computer. 2. I've tried messing with some of the settings. 3. I've tried messing with the EVGA Precision settings as well as some NVIDIA settings. 4. I've tried updating the GeForce drivers. I would love to get some help on this, I tried to be as informative as possible, but if there is any other information you'd like, please, ask away! I just want to be able to get my full extent out of my 1070. Thank you, much love!
