  1. upon removal of the PS3's HDD it appears that most likely is the culprit, I am running it's fan over with a cloth as i type this, I wish I had before photos but I'll post after photos of the console and the cloth when I'm finished
  2. okay I'll check it out, and keep you posted
  3. I recently decided to revisit some of my favorite games on the ps3 and ps4, and was disappointed to find that most of my games were noticeably running at a lower fps, especially during cutscenes, is this probably just due to the age of my consoles, or do I need to repair/replace something, as both are well out of warranty coverage, the ps3 is a slim model and the PS4 is the original black 500GB model, and all games on both are played via bluray game disks, not internal hard drive
  4. alright, I'm only upgrading because the heatsink in my system is an intel stock heatsink, and I've been seeing temps upwards of 80+ on certain cpu heavy games like Nier;Automata and others
  5. is that celsius or farenheit, if that's celsius I might want to go to another paste
  6. I am going to be receiving my new air cooler, a dark rock pro 3, soon, but my system is a prebuilt, so I don't know what thermal paste is best for my needs, the cooler is used, and a quick search showed the best as thermal grizzly kryonaut, however I am trying to get the best possible paste without much risk when I inevitably fuck it up, I am using an intel i7 6700k and have no issues with shelling out a little more if it means the paste will work well https://www.amazon.com/Thermal-Grizzly-Kryonaut-Grease-Paste/dp/B011F7W3LU/ref=sr_1_1?tag=amazongs-20&s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1517500686&sr=1-1&keywords=Thermal+Grizzly+Kryonaut
  7. since the general census is that it's fine, could you guys give some tips on how to maximize my fps with this card, usually it's atleast 30 fps on all games, so if at all possible I'd like to double that, I have a prebuilt system, so nothing special has been done to the card that I know of
  8. I don't know where I'd have a bottleneck, my pc uses a i7 6700k, 16gb of ram, and the motherboard is a z170a pcmate from msi
  9. I have a Nvidia geforce gtx 1060 msi card and have recently found that it runs at almost 100% load all the time when playing Watch_Dogs, yet never heats past 75 degrees. This still worries me though, as I am unaware of the potential dangers of overworking a gpu, I have NZXT CAM software, so I could overclock it a bit, but I'm a n00b, so I'd like some advice with that if that's my best option here to get extra frames, my specific card is at the amazon link below https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GeForce-GTX-1060-6GT/dp/B01LZYPEHK?SubscriptionId=AKIAJA54JMESX73IGPXQ&amp=&ascsubtag=318262819-16-581076636.1517075617&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B01LZYPEHK&linkCode=xm2&tag=d_2b_a_p-20&th=1
  10. any particular reason you recommend that one, price? noise level? performance?
  11. Sorry to anyone helping me out with this, my pc is a prebuilt that i have been slowly upgrading over the last year since I've bought it, I upgraded to the TJ07 and the PSU visible in the pics, so please try to keep the tech lingo within the normal noobs understanding
  12. IDK, here are a few pictures of my ram and the rest of my pc, if that helps at all
  13. I am using patriot memory, and to be honest I'd like to avoid overclocking myself, but probably will OC my parts when the time comes that they don't work too good
  14. I don I don't know, from what I've read on both, air might be a better option, because if a fan goes, I'd still at least have the mass of the heatsink whereas on an aio if the pump fails I'm screwed until it's replaced
  15. i don't know, but I do know it has 2 molex powered 120 mm fans at the top of the case for exhaust that i was planning on replacing when I got a hub
  16. I have a pc at home for gaming and internet browsing, currently using a normal intel stock cooler, however, saw recently that it is heating quite dangerously after installing NZXT cam software to see it's temp, while gaming, my cpu will sometimes run at around 84 degrees Celsius. I am using an Intel core i7 6700k running at 4000 MHz stock frequency on a msi z170a PC mate motherboard inside of an old silverstone TJ07 2005 model case. Please keep in mind I have a low income right now, so please keep the recommendations within the 150USD or less range
