  1. .............................. wow. I genuinely had no idea thats what all of that meant, it just made sense to fully shut off the machine entirely especially if I knew I wouldn't use it for a while. Thats pretty embarrassing too ... ill look into it ASAP
  2. I shut down regularly from windows, then switch off the PSU once the system is off, or else my MOBO RGB will never turn off
  3. This is my first PC build, and it’s been working good for around 2 years now. Recently when I turn on my PC, it starts then shuts off. Seconds later the system turns back on and a series of lights glow on the motherboard from red, orange, white then green. This will always opt me to start the bios screen then exit from there. (Previously never did that.) Ive looked at my manual and tried numerous solutions like rewiring, cleaning dust, removing and replacing the ram stick, etc but the issue is consistent. I am also now getting prompts that my drives are being repaired every time I start up, as well as my first ever bluescreen on this PC. I was told windows didnt start properly and got a few weird script errors. After 2 restarts it worked fine again. 4. Thanks for this. I was able to find out what each corresponding light means but I still don’t quite understand my situation. The lights when starting up my system flash every single warning indicator, but after a few seconds the computer starts regularly. Sometimes it will even restart and do the process over until it runs. I haven’t tinkered with the computer at all in quite a while so I don’t think any cables are loose or something... weird.
  5. Is there anywhere I can find an online manual? Ive lost my physical one
  6. This is my first PC build, and it’s been working good for around a year and a half now. Just recently when turning on my computer, it starts up for a few seconds then shuts off. Seconds later the system turns back on and a series of lights glow on the motherboard from red, orange, white then green. This will always opt me to start the bios screen then exit from there. (Preciously never did that.) Even more recently the computer has taken an unusual amount of time to start bios, and has even shut off for a few seconds during the bios screen and turned on again. I am not sure what the issue is and I have misplaced my MOBO manual to find out.. 7. I had built a PC a while ago and just recently wanted to get it finished again. I made the error of purchasing a windows disc version instead of a USB stick version, and as of now I have misplaced the disc. While I look for it I wanted to have the ISO of windows on my new PC so I can at least get it started, but every time I try I get an error stating that there was a problem downloading windows 10. The flash drive I am using has more than enough storage than its recommended 8 gigs needed, my current PC runs at 64 bit and the flash drive is clear of all other files. I've tinkered with settings like un-checking the box for use recommended PC settings and tried 32 bit, but nothing seems to be working. HELP???????
  8. I actually do prefer to play on all low settings for games like Overwatch as I prefer ALL the frames. (1080p). Glad there seems to be at least no bottle necking in play but its very strange how my parts seem to just have chocked out of nowhere. Ill look into driver issues and obscurities.
  9. On amazon the 8500 is selling for 15 dollars less, even with some sort of increase is it still worth it? Id rather have a "start fresh" scenario then using possibly faulty hardware.
  10. I made a PC part list for my previous build, in any case I could definitely have another one ready if you still wish to view it. Because I have a 3gb 1060, is my CURRENT cpu already bottlenecking my gpu? Will the one I have suggested make it worse?
  11. I found this ridiculous as well first time but over the 3 months I was using my computer I definitely saw a slow but steady decrease in performance. Usually playing games like Overwatch on 250+ FPS soon reduced down to 120-160, and using a stat tracker as I played, I could see that sometimes the CPU or GPU would be nearing 100% usage. (Has never happened before)
  12. I am getting my CPU and MOBO replaced after I recently found out that they were bottlenecked and just seemed very cheap trough my experiences regardless of their quality. Old parts: i5 7600k 3.8 HZ / Asus Strix Z270-E ATX Gaming Motherboard Replacement parts: Intel Core i5-8500 Coffee Lake 6-Core 3.0 GHz (4.1 GHz Turbo) LGA 1151 (300 Series) 65W BX80684I58500 Desktop Processor Intel UHD Graphics 630 MSI Performance GAMING Intel Coffee Lake B360 LGA 1151 DDR4 Onboard Graphics CFX ATX Motherboard (B360 GAMING PLUS) I will be pairing these parts with an Asus GTX 1060 3gb dual fan, 1 TB HD, 650 W gold PSU fully modular atx (or) 800 W bronze PSU, 250 GB SSD, 16GB Ram (x1), Hyper 212 evo cooler [a genuine pain to install so I may consider swapping] ---Will the following new additions be compatible? [side note I have left parts like the HD and GPU exposed in the open for QUITE some time, in which they have accumulated a bit of dust. Would that affect the parts in any way? First build
  13. Is there something wrong with my SSD and GPU already? Id like to try to spend as little money as possible and try to preserve what I already have.
  14. I've been working on a PC build a few months ago (first build) that I assumed would work just fine with all the parts at use ..... come a little bad RNG and I realized that either my CPU or MOBO was a doa. [I ran into an issue where the PC would start up along with all other functionalities but I was getting no video output to my monitor] and with that lost all motivation to go on. Come 2 months of the rest of my parts building dust on my table and I think I'm finally ready to finish what I started. PC specs: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/TheBreadBakery/saved/ Also just wondering... because these parts have been laying around for quite some time, will the dust that has accumulated effect any performance? I will obviously clean it off but has the dust changed it somehow? Current parts that I should be using - GTX 1060 - 1TB HD - Cooler (.... its such a pain to install so I'm considering swapping for convenience ) - RAM - 250 GB SSD - 650 80+ gold PSU (I had recently purchased another PSU when I was coming up with conclusions on why my PC was not working, an 800W bronze. Not sure which would work better) - Windows 64 bit - - - - - [I SEEM TO HAVE ACCIDENTALLY PURCHASED THE DISC VERSION and I don't want to bother purchasing a disk drive... what route do I take here?] Current parts that need to be replaced - MOBO - CPU [preferably id still like an i5 processor or anything intel branded] I can check myself and have this post updated to see what everyone else thinks, but id like more on the cheap side of recommendations that can still synergize well with the current parts I have. Does anything else in the list of usable parts need to change to meet these requirements? Im open to all suggestions and can change if needed. Thanks for your time!
