Yes, 3700x is a very good choice (for value and performance) although 3600 would exceed in "bang for your buck" but has less cores
Not talking about capacity of RAM, rather the speed of it. RAM has timings too, similar to how a CPU has clock speed
aha yh I know that sorry was jut curios as the prices have gone down so much recently, if I was to buy the 3700x is my mobo good enough to future proof ? Im sort of hoping this will be able to keep up in 16months or so at a high level

Would just buy a 3700X and get some 3200Mhz RAM. You don't need to upgrade the board unless you're after PCIE 4.0, just needs a BIOS update.
is 24gb or even 32gb worth the difference?

Try to get a 2700x or a 3700x, (or a 5600 if you manage to find one)
Would still be fine, but if you want pcie4, you will need a newer board
GTX1080 or RTX2060 would be a good upgrade
@RTX 3090just the upgrades looking mostly to upgrade cpu / mobo /ram as GPU is only year old
3700X good choice just needs bios update right ?

Any improvements from stock?
I believe so but its getting hotter as expected alot quicker it sits at 50-55* when not under load and reaches 60-65 under load even with a water cooler

You can try and OC your RAM further, but mileage may vary, I'd also OC that CPU personally.
I have since done both cpu is at 3.9 and ram 2666mhz

I noticed you are using an Asus motherboard which means you might have aura sync enabled rgb running.
If this is the case try turning all the rgb off or to a static colour as I have noticed similar issues in games while aura sync is runningHow do i turn this off ? I dont use the software I just allow it to use whatever default setting

Current build is AMD ryzen 1600x
Asus prime x370
GTX 1660TI
16gb 2x8 2666mhz
I have tried to trouble shoot windows by using sfc/ scannow, and also used chkdsk,
then decided to give my pc a clean to make sure wasnt a temperature issue
Following that I found no issues that I could find however,
In games such as BF1/BFV/CSGO/PUBG for instance Ive noticed especially in CSGO a very drastic drop in performance from around 180-200fps on 1080p to almost half this with high spikes and low lows
Please any advice would be great thanks

Yes you gonna need to upgrade bios to newest one (or at least the one which includes support for ryzen 3600x) and you’ll be good to go.
will that just be the one it downloads when updating bios ? or will i need to download a specific file for that one, thanks

I've recently decided to slowly upgrade my build which began in getting a 1660TI, now I wish to upgrade my CPU from a 1600x to either the 1800x or 3600x, I used PCpartpicker to check for issues, please see the build linked and let me know whether it's just a case of updating the bios or a different motherboard in necessary as well thank you.

So i recently setup dual monitors and was just wondering if this is the same for everyone or if there is a way to change it. The issue being when I click on a tab on my second monitor it pulls me out of opened tabs on the first

more of this = more speee. All Pascal cards go past 1800 under 3D load.
idle temps are directly tied to case temperature, as long as it's not 60C+, only full load temperatures matter
also is it normal that the core clock is on 1500+ while idle ??? thats not under pressure?

should the idle temp be below that without the GPU fans spinning? they are currently on 40% and under load on BFV high settings it maxes at 65 i believe

what about the GPU clock its in the red ? 1800 ?
is 45ish idle normal temp?

high load = high fps
high temps = Nope, 57C is the opposite of high
1500: This memory usage? Still very low, newer games easily use twice if not three times of that.

after changing a few things and changing the speed of ram

One issue could be your RAM. You have a 2666 kit, but it is only currently clocked at 2133 MHz. Ryzen is heavily RAM dependent, so try setting the DOCP RAM settings in the BIOS.
EDIT: Just so you know. At the end of the green box, it shows 1067, that is how all RAM shows up, exactly half of the larger number, in your current case, 2133.
how do i do this? i know how to get into the bios but whats DOCP?
