Hi, I have been at it for far to long without any progress. I looking to move from my Synology DS918+ to my new/old Dell R510 12 bay with truenas. I done all the checks on server and only thing that is left is to flash H200i to IT mode and do something to run in in storage slot with 2 SSD in internal caddy, one for boot and second for plex. I have old pc that I used to flash H200 successfully??? don't really know as I can install truenas on one of the SSD but after restarting server I cant boot from SSD. Please help me figure out if I did something wrong when flashing H200i? Or do I need to change something on R510? I have a old PC that I used for flashing and it's UEFI (not really sure what that means but the DOS part of tutorial I was fallowing didn't work and only way to progress was to use UEFI version). Please help me out with some guide of how to do it for 5 year old brain as I'm at a lost so far.

Insane price, would never pay that for GPU of this class. Please wait for price to come down and don't get scam.

I mean get 3x16tb as start so 32tb(2 drives) raw with 16tb(1 drive) for protection and after copying all my data to that 32tb storage. Then add 4x12tb, not creat a seperated raid or vdev or what ever you wan to call it but have all the drives in one so 3x16tb and 4x12tb with only 1 drive for protection. UnRaid will give me that option but with low speed max of a single drive. With TrueNas I have to grupe them togheter and will lose a lot of space but gain speed. Any information I could read up on? BTW my dell R510 has H200 that I will have to flash to IT mode so i can have them manage by OS not hardware RAID controler. It has 12 bay for 3.5" so Im good for now.

While doing this I will lose 2 hard drives, would be possible to only use 1 x 16tb for protection? If this is not posible with TruNas can UnRAID do it?

Hi, guys just a quick question I have 3 x 16TB new and 4x 12TB in my old nas. Im building new storage server in dell r510. Would it be possible to get 3x 16 tb in server, copy 23tb of data from my all server. Then take 4 x 12Tb and add them to my r510?

Hi, so I order 5900X got it in my basket on lunch after witch I got 3 email confirming my order and delivery date for 6 November. In a middle of a night I got email that i was place on pre order list for 20 of November. Very happy about it.... On the bright side I got my new rack for my server and my PC. Now I'm only waiting for CPU. Got two rails from dell for free will try to use them as they are pricey for what they are:

Any recommendation for cheap GPU that will play 4k 60hz? and I mean very cheap used, old and cheap only requirement to support 4k 60hz output.

I was thinking of adding a GPU to this PC as the CPU hit 100% and is unable to play 4K. As for the link you posted there is no mention of playback only of running server. I did search for a bit before posting so I could find minimum requirements for 4k playback. With no luck as everywhere they talk about running server and transcoding and no mention of actual playback with directplay.

I can't play 4k on this PC without stuttering or black screen so its not true. I don't want to transcode or run a server. Just playback in 4k on this PC from my DS918+.

Is it possible to watch 4k movies in plex on very slow PC? Hi, so I just got some of the bits now I only need CPU. My new motherboard: Here we have 2TB nvme, 16gb (3600mhz 16C) and CPU cooler: I will do a full build log as soon as I get new CPU.

I'm getting new CPU in 2 weeks and most of the time product I would buy don't get big discounts on black Friday so me getting it now before the price goes up is a smart move. With your logic I would have to buy whole PC same day as not to leave it as a paperweight. Getting new CPU on release date is never a great deal.

I can return it till 31 of January and in UK prices for PC parts been going up for last few months I got it for £300 and you can't get it for less than £340 now. If I can get the same motherboard on black Friday I will just return mine as i'm not getting different model. Plus this is my first upgrade in 8 years so i'm a bit impatient now.

Thanks for advice. Should I do it now or wait for CPU and do it after testing? As i'm getting 5900X so it may take few weeks before I can test it?
