  1. I totally get what you're saying and I agree, fitting things into ITX was never the issue at hand (the case fits it). And the manufacturer recommends a config using a triple fan AIO so I'm in the clear with that. And I'm happy with my CPU choice performance wise, the input about that mobo being crap was incredibly helpful and ill consider either AM5 or a better mobo. Thanks for everyone helping!
  2. issue being that AM5 CPUs are more expensive and I'd have to get ddr5 ram too. Do you have any experience with that Mobo?
  3. Thanks for the advice! I just really prefer ITX for space saving (and novelty) reasons. This is exactly why I wanted to ask in the forums, never heard of those issues.
  4. Budget (including currency): N/A Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: some gaming like Assassins creed, engineering simulations (fluids) and some programming Other details: This is a upgrade to my current pc (i7 8700k, 16gb ram, rtx 3080), the main goal is slightly faster cpu and to swap to a ITX case. PCPartPicker Part List: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/xy9p4M CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 3.7 GHz 12-Core Processor (€272.90 @ Alza) CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i PRO RGB 75 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler (Purchased For €0.00) Motherboard: ASRock A520M-ITX/ac Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard (€103.99 @ Amazon Deutschland) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory (Purchased For €0.00) Storage: Corsair MP510 480 GB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive (Purchased For €0.00) Video Card: MSI SUPRIM X GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR 10 GB Video Card (Purchased For €0.00) Case: Jonsbo Jonsplus i100 Pro Mini ITX Desktop Case (€97.89 @ Caseking) I chose the case because it fits my existing GPU and possibly (with a Dremel) my PSU. The only parts I would purchase are the CPU Mobo and case; everything else taken from the current build. I'm not going to upgrade within the next 5 years probably, that's why I chose a last gen platform. My question: do you guys have any comments about the choices or would you recommend some other cpu/mobo.
  5. Yep i have a stack of them doubled sided in my main rig, i just want a popper NAS now
  6. Thanks a lot for the help! And I am very versed in the good ol' ducktaping SSDs so I think that should work.
  7. Wow I did not know that intel CPUs are so much more efficent when it comes to transcoding (do you have a link to that toms hardware page). But then it would be a good idea to get rid of the gpu, any reason you swapped the case?
  8. Well currently all my networking gear is 1gb, but 2.5 is definitely a good idea. But yea the cpu is quite a lot so you're right
  9. Budget (including currency): 300€ (lower is always better) Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Plex (Single 4k Stream), NAS (single user; 2 Rigs) mainly small files like word. Other details: So the stack of doubble sided SSDs in my PC is getting too large: I need a NAS. So using parts I have laying around i went and speced out a NAS. It will run trueNAS, with the Plex application. I included the Pc Partpicker link but the parts alongside rationale are below. CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G 3.9 GHz 6-Core Processor Motherboard: ASRock A320M-ITX Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard (Cheapest compatible mITX board I found) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory (Cheap but reputable, is it too much RAM?) Storage: Western Digital SN530 256 GB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive (Boot disk only, Would go for lower capacity but does not seem to exist) Video Card: Zotac GAMING AMP GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB Video Card (Old GPU I replaced in main RIG) Case: Jonsbo Jonsplus i100 Pro Mini ITX Desktop Case (Case that supports the PSU I already have) Power Supply: Corsair CX550M 550 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply (PSU I had laying around) Let me know if I'm missing anything.
  10. I asked Asus support is the 960 Evo is not compatible they said it's not. WHY what?!! and I have an SSD already for mass storage and the MP510 is not on the compatibility list is it compatible
  11. How much more performance could you get out of oc
  12. I’m building my first gaming pc and before I go out and buy all the parts I want to make sure that there are no issues/ incompatibilities [PCPartPicker Part List](https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/srMJcY) Type|Item|Price :----|:----|:---- **CPU** | [Intel - Core i7-8700 3.2 GHz 6-Core Processor] **CPU Cooler** | [Corsair - H100i RGB PLATINUM 75 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler] **Motherboard** | [Asus - ROG STRIX Z390-E GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard] **Memory** | [Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory] **Storage** | [Samsung - 970 Evo 250 GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive] **Video Card** | [Zotac - GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB GAMING AMP Video Card] **Case** | [NZXT - H500 (White) ATX Mid Tower Case] **Power Supply** | [Corsair - CXM 550 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply] **Case Fan** | [Corsair - LL120RGB LED (Three Fans With Lighting Node PRO) 43.25 CFM 120 mm Fans] | **Total** | **€1459.33** | Generated by [PCPartPicker](https://pcpartpicker.com) 2019-05-15 15:52 CEST+0200 |
