  1. would be better if you wait for the cheaper ampere gpus
  2. I've got an old Toshiba Satellite C40 A with an i3-3110M and I've been wanting to upgrade the CPU. I know for a fact that the CPU is removable(opened and poked around the laptop myself). It seems that the i7-3612QM is compatible with the laptop. It has more cache, 4 cores 8 threads as opposed to the i3's 2 cores 4 threads and the same TDP(35W). My question is that will the i7 work at all? Will there be any overheating issues?(they do have the same TDP) Any compatibility issues? Any advice would be extremely helpful
  3. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the Turing cards better for streaming because of some partnership they had with OBS? If that's the case you should be going for an RTX card in your budget (a 2060 or maybe a 2070)
  4. Thinking of upgrading from my GTX 1050TI to a GTX 1660(non-ti). Will it be worth it? My budget is around $250. I live in China, where these cards are $20-30 more expensive so it seems like the perfect option for me. My specs: Ryzen 5 1400(overclocked to 3.6 ghz) 8 gb of ram 550w evga psu. Will I experience any bottlenecks during gaming(1080p gaming) or no? Thanks in advance
  5. Not sure if this is the correct forum but as you can see in the uploaded pictures, my current headphone's(The Superlux HD681 EVO) cable is broken. The internal audio cable is intact but the outer shell is broken. Thought I could patch it up by using heat shrink tubes but then realized it's too close to the base( whatever you call it). Is there any other way to fix it? Maybe some kind of putty? These are the best quality pictures I could get. Sorry about the quality.
  6. But can't I just overclock the old ram to match the speeds and timings of the new ram? They're basically the same sticks anyways. Thanks in advance.
  7. So no overclocking the old ram to match the speeds? Thanks in advance.
  8. If, for instance, it's possible to change the timings, how would I do it, and would it affect performance? Also, it can't be too much of a headache if the ram modules are basically the same, just with different speeds and timings. I could overclock the old ram and change the timings right? Thanks in advance.
  9. So I have a single 8GB stick of ram from Crucial. It's the Ballistix sport(white one). It's specs are 2400 MHz at 1.2v 16-16-16. I want to upgrade my system by adding another stick ram but here in China, they don't have the exact same model but a similar one at 2666mhz 16-18-18 at 1.2v. My question is whether I can install this stick of ram and expect it to work normally in my pc with the existing ram(dual channel and all) or do I have to underclock/overclock my ram. My ram: https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/bls8g4d240fsc The new stick: https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/bls8g4d26bfsc My computer's specs: Asrock AB350 Pro4 Ryzen 5 1400 GTX 1050ti(will be upgraded to a RX570 or RX580) 550w PSU Any help appreciated.
  10. So I have the Rapoo v720 and it has RGB lighting.(I think it's only available in China) The software that comes with it is crappy and doesn't have a lot of customisation for the RGB lights. I was thinking that why isn't there any universal RGB software which allows one to control everything at once(headphones, mice etc.) If there is then plz let me know.i want better RGB control on my keyboard (RGB FOR LYFE)
