  1. By watching you guys, I have delved into an entirely new world of nerd. And I am thankful for that. All hail Linus.
  2. I'm getting the HD 650s next, but i'm looking for some replacements to the ATH m50s afterward, hence this post. The M-100s are regarded to have much more clarity and comfort than the previous models, regarded to be the best DJ headphones for years. The HD8 could well replace the m100s, but I would like to verify that. EmoRarity have you had a taste of the m100s?
  3. Yeah, but I have heard that ever since Linus reviewed it people have took it as the word of god. The thing is all over the forums, so I want to see if I can get an unbiased opinion or someone with experience.
  4. Low $300 to mid $400 range, FIGHT! Which is better in this category? Closed back, mobile, hi-fi experience. I have heard the B&W P7 is overpriced, but extravagently built. The HD8 is the newcomer here, please give input on what you guys think of it. The M-100 shares many properties with the HD8, but lacks the hinge mechanism.
  5. SRH940 or SRH1540s? Noticeable difference?
  6. What type of increase in the sound quality could I expect between the Momentums/M100s to the SRH1540s? Edit: Is this similar to the SRH940 in sound? I have heard they are some of the best closed back cans for classical. I love classical.
  7. The P7s are going to be scratched off of my list as they are extremely overpriced. I have found many in the $300 range that reach their level. Number one for comfort is going to be the KEF M500, but that is an "on the go" headphone, it could work, so I'll put it on my list anyway. I've also been looking at the SRH1540s and their build quality is even more overkill than the m100's. CARBON FIBER? What is this, an airplane?
  8. Would you say the SRH1540's are worth it compared to my less expensive options?
  9. Some of the post $300 stuff do make a difference. Especially in build quality. I have been looking at the B&W P7 as probably the best in build quality in this range. I realize that I could buy an open back and keep my m50s for quiet times, but I really don't want to have more than one pair and have to switch whenever. I can also take things under $300, it's no strict guideline. This is my current list in no particular order: 1.V-Moda M-100 2.Sennheiser Momentum 3.B&W P7 Tell me of any problems with any of these choices, tell me which one is best for me, or present me with an even better option.
  10. I'm getting tired of the ATH-M50s and I am thinking of upgrading. I also just like learning about technology, so hit me with all you've got. What I didn't like about the ATH-M50s they were somewhat "lifeless" and not powerful enough. They just didn't have a big enough kick. Probably just a bit higher on the bass and a better sound stage will fit the bill. My biggest complaint would be the comfort, those reviews praising it decided to mostly omit that. It constantly rubs on my ear and makes me want to throw it against the window after a long computer session. So my big things are, bigger sound stage, slightly more power, comfort, build quality, and keep it relatively quiet. Also, as I am upgrading not sidegrading, I will want something more than the m50s, probably $300 to $500. Start the recommendations!
  11. Yes, I have considered this, but I would prefer to have a zero latency headphone jack if possible. The AT2020USB+ adds a jack and still comes with a stand. Probably one of the most cost effective options and is pretty high on my list. For the Blue Yeti, why would I get the Pro when I could get the Blue Spark Digital which is superior in almost every way except versatility? It's pretty new on the market, so if someone could give me feedback on the Blue Spark Digital that would help.
  12. I would eventually like to start a Youtube venture of some sort at some time and I am looking at mics in advance. I do not want to buy an XLR microphone as usual as I would have to buy a mixer/buy XLR cables/etc. (adding probably $100 onto the price) 250$ is my limit on spending for the microphone itself. I can get a pop filter, shock mount, and the boom arm later down the line.am looking to do some sort of commentary, reviews, and whatever, so it must be cardioid. Not too sensitive, but not too weak. If one of you recommends me the Blue Yeti I will go crazy, I want variety, not the typical response from everybody. That microphone sacrifices audio quality for adaptability. The AT2020 is a much better competitor at that price range. Another reason for saying no to the Blue Yeti is because I can get better, so preferably something around $200, might change depending on if it's a steal. My current list of ideas include the Rode Podcaster, the Blue Spark Digital (I have nothing against the company, just the Yeti), Editors Keys SL150/SL300, AT2020USB+, and the Blue Yeti as my last option if I somehow get convinced to get it. Feel free to add to the list and tell me which I should get.
