  1. The computer is dedicated to streaming with a camera on each capture card, and I'm hoping to add a third input from a different PC, hence the third card.
  2. I have an Asus B450-F in a computer I use for streaming. I currently have a GTX 1660 Super, an M.2 ssd, and two Intensity Pro 4k capture cards installed. I added a third capture card today, this time a x1 Intensity Pro, but it was not detected by the drivers or in the device manager. I have tested the Intensity Pro card on its own and confirmed that it is working. Am I using too many Pcie devices? Counting the SSD, I'm using a total of five.
  3. You can create a Linux VM on the freenas box and then open the appropriate port on the router. I would recommend using wireguard with the pivpn installer, I switched from OpenVPN and have been very happy with it Once you have the VPN connection established, you should be able to access your SMB shares. https://www.pivpn.io/
  4. I was primarily speaking of initial install count as I've done quite a few PC builds. I've rarely reinstalled windows to fix problems, but it's the first thing I do if I ever buy an OEM machine. I'm opting not to do a reinstall in this case because I don't have physical access to my friend's computer as she is living in a different country.
  5. Maybe, but I've reinstalled windows several times on laptops and never missed any of the associated software. In this case, the reinstall is probably overkill to begin with. I've installed and reinstalled windows more times than I can count but rarely on laptops, hence my question.
  6. The install is to remove bloatware that came from the factory, so it's not pointless imo.
  7. Going with a VPS may over complicate things. I will be passing this on to others and need it to be managed with a control panel.
  8. I need .NET core hosting for a project and there are too many options out there with features that I don't need. All I need for this project is: Custom domain support (this will go on a subdomain) .NET core support (just one site) 10 GB of storage One SQL server database, 1 GB is probably enough I don't need email support or anything else like that. I also looked at Microsoft Azure but their cheapest options are supposedly dev only. https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/app-service/windows/ Traffic will be low. Any suggestions?
  9. It's a dell XPS 15 with a 9th gen intel chip.
  10. I'm going to help one of my friends reinstall windows on her PC before she moves for college and intend to walk her through the process of installing it from a thumbdrive. However, the windows installer exe from microsoft is for 2004, and her computer says 2004 will be coming soon to her device but is not yet supported. Will this be problematic? I didn't see an option to select an older version of windows 10.
  11. Right, well the ones I bought have free returns so I may be doing that and trying the angled pad ones. I'll probably have this figured out by the end of the summer.
  12. I bought a pair of these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MFDT894/?coliid=I1P45WLDJ5QIXO&colid=3J746E29EX22K&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it&tag=linus21-20 and so far have mixed feelings. The soundstage has definitely increased but has made the highs and mids seem distant, I'm not sure about the bass yet. @rice guru
  13. There is an issue in windows that breaks g-sync when running a 3d application on a lower refresh rate screen, so you may be experiencing that here.
  14. Does it? When I last installed windows (maybe a month or two ago?) I was able to click "no" a couple times and it let me do it locally.
  15. The reinstall is to get a fresh start (it's been 3.5 years) and because I'm adding a new SSD. I'd just like to unlink the Microsoft account in the process.
  16. Should I worry about saving the product id along with the key?
  17. I did some digging and found a script that finds the product key from the registry so I can use that if need be. I've reinstalled windows many times but not on a build, only on OEM hardware.
  18. That's a good build (I've done a few with very similar specs), however, I would suggest getting a larger SSD. This is a good deal right now: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07J2Q4SWZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 You could also look at getting an RTX 2060 instead of the 5700 XT. And Windows is cheap from here: https://www.vip-scdkey.com/software/microsoft-pc-10-pro-oem_1227-20.html
  19. I'm going to reinstall windows 10 on a PC build that currently has a retail license, only it is linked to the Microsoft account on the device. If possible, I would like to reinstall windows with a local account instead of the Microsoft linked one. I don't have the license key written down anywhere, so is there a good way of getting it back so I can reinstall windows without the Microsoft account and without buying windows again?
  20. I'm not complaining if it adds some bass and doesn't affect the clarify of the mids and highs (which are quite excellent now that I've taken some time to use these headphones).
  21. I purchased the Sonys and I'm honestly not impressed. I realized I had gotten used to the clarity of the M40xs, so I'm going to send the Sonys back and get better ear covers for the M40x's. However, I'm a little concerned that this will negatively affect the sound quality. Any ideas? @rice guru @The Flying Sloth I found these two on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZGGG3KY/?coliid=I25G4Y7JY1LJFK&colid=3J746E29EX22K&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MFDT894/?coliid=I1P45WLDJ5QIXO&colid=3J746E29EX22K&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
  22. That's 1 gigbit per second for the entire network, which is enough bandwidth for many devices at once. In Linus's case, his 10 Gbps network is shared by all devices (but it's stupidly fast to begin with). As for the ISP, you'll have to see any in your area offer gigbit service.
  23. Many games don't need more than 1 or 2 gb of ram.
  24. That's my thought. I specifically sought out headphones with free returns so I can send the m40x's back at no cost, and I only bought the m40x's at the recommendation of a friend.
  25. Link? I also don't particularly care for the sound of the M40s to begin with.
