  1. I had some serious stuttering issues with my system. After upgrading from an i5 4590 they seemingly went away for a while but have raised their head again on games that were working fine the other day. I want to make sure all of my voltages are completely fine. I have checked HW Monitor, but I don't know what I'm looking for at all. Is it possible that my Mobo is killing my components and if so would I see these sort of symptoms, or just have outright fails, and shutdowns? I have attached my HW monitor
  2. I can't believe that I would get more than half the performance on every bench now after 10 tests and a second windows installation. All the benchmarks on YouTube are more than that and are normal values.
  3. Yes, but I am trying to troubleshoot why I now have half the performance as yesterday, there must be a valid reason why that has happened. Pretty sure in everyday usage that will make a difference. The a400 benches much better than the other brands at the entry level, such as the WD green etc.
  4. yes, but surely half the speed in a Synth benchmark will affect real speeds. There has to be a reason why it happened.
  5. So the drive isn't broken, what about fi I leave it a while and it is still half performance, click on the second link again for the latest results.
  6. I did 10 tests, had to format, shut down the computer a bunch of times, and then tested again and my results have been like this or worse since. https://imgur.com/a/YwkopPg The a400's are cheap but they have an Ok Toshiba controller and they wouldn't degrade that quickly, I am getting nearly half the speed. Surely it's just faulty, regardless I have another one on the way to compare, should be here tomorrow. Could a motherboard issue do that (from me constantly having to hard shut down so many times), what SSD do your recommend?
  7. It isn't a small difference, its more than a 3rd of the performance, the second image is the highest I got and the other read speeds were higher than the first image. I get around 200mb/s average on 4kib when before I had 350 average.
  8. While I agree, the performance is now about 1/3 as good as it was consistently. I did maybe 10 tests before and all were above 310mb/s on the 4kib read, now they are all 250 and below, every time (except that one that I posted which was a higher anomaly). So clearly something happened in between that point. Also every benchmark of it I see it reads higher, how I was getting before.
  9. That was the best I could get actually, it's more like 200-250 Mb on the first Kib test Windows often installs chipset drivers that can affect these things and make changes that can't be undone. I am trying to figure out why it has done this. Also I had to re-install again and again, because I was testing the differences in speed if it had partitioned a bootable or on to another drive like it did previously.
  10. The SSD is New from Amazon 240gb Kingston A400 i7 4790 Gtx 1070 16Gb DDR3 1600Mhz 240 Kingston SSD (the one I have trouble with) 120gb Integral SSD, 2tb HDD Evga gold g2 650w
  11. Really not too sure of the power settings in my bios, but they were exactly the same as when I have the good results. Have tried different windows power modes also. Windows optimization/trim on, could you elaborate on that? My specs are: i7 4790 Gtx 1070 16Gb DDR3 1600Mhz 240 Kingston SSD (the one I have trouble with) 120gb Integral SSD, 2tb HDD Evga gold g2 650w
  12. I received a Kingston drive and installed windows on it. I also had my other SSD in a sata port. Windows decided to create the bootable portion on that drive.I tested Crystal disk mark and was getting these speeds consistently (phone image, That wasn't the youtube score, I was comparing): This is one of the lower scores, it was more like 355 on the 4khttps://imgur.com/a/4pmpKmYBecause it wouldn't boot when removed the other SSD, and replaced with my HDD, I had to re-install windows again (and have done 4 times now) The 4kib read and write a ore are highly unstable, some times going to 150 and below and seem random. Nothing running in backgroundI went to test disk mark again and my read speed are now always about 90-130 lower than they previously were, which is a LOT. Also the second 4kib is highly temperamental, when it was even before.https://imgur.com/a/YwkopPgI assumed I damaged the Drive by turning it off and on so many times I had damaged it, but it seems unlikely. No firmware update, bios has been reset and Cmos'd.I have clinical OCD and want to understand why this is happening. Is it possible that I damaged my Mobo and other components too?Any Idea what's going on?Edit: One more thing. When I installed again I deleted 16mb partition and ha e to run the diskpart "clean command on the drive to be able to reinstall again. Did this damage it?
  13. Is there any negative affects to doing that? I'll give it a go!
  14. I'm using Hdmi at the moment I will try an Dvi-dual link on monday. All cores were working as normal. I asked the question on Reddit and two people told me that 90fps will be the way I describe on a 60hz panel because of displayed frametimes
  15. Hi my specs are: i5 4590 3.3ghz Zotac Gtx 760 2gb 7400 2 tb Gigabyte H81M-Dv2 Cooler master 500w The peaks are 86-2000 but those were in the menu, gameplay is where it display 11-12ms at 90fps My name is "HolyPlum" , just started on Pc, came from console so not very good yet, but am a vet on xbox ;0
  16. So my frametime seems normal, with a few large spikes but nothing constant. I posted on reddit and someone else sated that 90fps on a 60 hz monitor will look like that, but I cant find any information on that at all?
  17. Please do, there is something supernaturally annoying going on here
  18. Hi, I cant find the option in Rivatuner any more for a frametime graph, what are you using?
  19. I posted this issue yesterday and someone was very helpful, but I though I'd post again with what he helped me discover. I'm using Rainbow Six siege as a benchmark, but it is the same in all games. I am having an issue where certain frame rates look like they are below 60fps, and are lagging, stuttering. Around 60-65 fps looks smooth and around 110 upwards looks the same. My monitor only displays 60hz. I have tested on two monitors. Anywhere at 70-100 fps looks AWFUL, like its below 60fps, around 50. I have tested this using Rivatuner framecaps. If i cap at 59-65 the game is smooth. if I cap at 90 fps the game is laggy, consistently. I initially though it was my card or V-ram, but this doesn't seem to be the case. Before you ask I have checked: Temperatures Clocks V-Ram and Cpu usage DDU and uninstalled all drivers etc. The only thing I have left to try is using Dvi instead of Hdmi, but I very much doubt that is the cause. Another thing to mention is that I have around 60-70% Gpu usage at all resolutions, which is strange for a gtx 760? is there a better place to post this other than this sub, I feel like i'm just relentlessly posting the same issue
  20. So I have just ran afterburner looking at the memory and its around its a constant 2003-2005 at 1080p on high and very high and around 1400 on medium. The problem still exists on medium and I'm now certain it is tied to frame rate instead of the Vram usage I have noticed that nearer 60fps it is smoother and above 110 it is also smoother, anywhere in between those frame rates is where the problems occur and it looks like its below 60. Contrary to what I said before I am now getting 60-70% Gpu usage at all settings, this seems odd? With a framecap at 59fps the issue is resolved and the gpu usage is at 60% I'm starting to think that my gpu isn't being utilized for some reason. What could cause this? EDIT: I just locked my Fps to 90 in Rivatuner and this is where it looks like 50fps, now constantly. The issue is residing here most definitely.
  21. Thanks for the help. I've never heard of fps reading incorrectly and I can cap it and its smooth, so I really doubt it's that. I will try and buy a gpu from someone next week to see if it works. A shame though! Thanks again.
  22. On medium textures with all other settings off or low it says I use 1300mb Vram in the game graphics menu, but I assume it's less at it all ways overcompensates anyway. I don't know how Vram works, but I can turn everything high/very high at 720p and it tells me I'm using the same vram and its very (not always) smooth. Not to sure about that last will need to check and I have no overclock. Abothe thing to mention is that my gpu hovers around 60-70% utilized at 1080p, whereas at 720 it's 99-100%
  23. Yeah everything in after burner looks ok. Temps are normal for a 760 around 80-85. Haven't check Vram usage yet and how would I check clock throttling or fix that. I'm going to try a Dvi cable on Monday, but I doubt it's that. I don't want to go buying a new Gpu to face exactly the same issue. The PC came with a fresh installation of Windows, so it's not that.
  24. It only happened a little on the other screen, which was 720p. If I switch to 1280x720 on the monitor the story is the same, but like I said it seems to be because I'm playing at 120-140fps on that. So the screen is perfectly capable of refreshing properly. I'm certain the issue would persist on any screen.
