  1. The 1050 ti would be the bottleneck. Its not a bad thing... but if you're going to spend more money in any one area, i would spend it on a better video card.
  2. I have found that a 3rd gen i5 and gtx 1060 is sufficient for 1080p 60fps in BF1 at max/high. I'd redo drivers just incase before you shell out money. Are you sure that the CPU is pegged at 100% usage 24/7? You could also maybe be limited by system ram when it comes to the stuttering. I think this game will use like 10GB at 1080 high?
  3. Depending on the game, the extra RAM in a 16 GB kit isnt going to do much for performance. If you're considering a kit 16 GB in your budget, i think the money would be better spent if you got a dual channel 8GB kit instead and then put the savings toward a GTX 1060 6GB (or 1070??.) You're gonna be GPU bottlenecked with a 1050 ti, so a better video card will improve performance more than anything.
  4. I name my computers and electronics with regular people names. More like code names since i do a lot of builds and its easier to call them by a name rather than rattle of the specs every time... Desktop computers have typically been given Male names (Bill, Larry, Steve, George, ect...) Mobile devices have had Female names (Sasha, Annette)
  5. oh sorry... you're right. The one I linked doesn't have the X after gaming... perhaps they only released they X version overseas? I think I remember something about Nvidia NOT allowing factory overclocked 1070ti's so maybe that's why there isn't an X variant.
  6. @Fritzer as many as you have SATA ports on your motherboard (unless you want to buy a PCIe SATA controller card..) Assuming you arent talking about PCIe SSDs
  7. Is this a joke??? Of course its real!! https://us.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForce-GTX-1070-Ti-GAMING-8G Gaming X is MSI's higher end gaming product line.
  8. as long as you dont abuse it, it will last many many years longer than 2 years from now. The GPU itself has no moving parts, so it lasts a very long time, however; your fans might break eventually as they are mechanical. Only reason a video card might die after even 10 years is A dead fan, misuse, aggressive overclocking.
  9. if you're in the USA, I shop around at: Ebay (worldwide) facebook marketplace (local) craigslist (local) Offerup app (local) Theres also other local listing apps like letgo. just never tried em. here's a GTX 770 for $105 USD which isn't a terrible deal, but ive definitely seen them go for less than that. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-770-2GB-Great-Condition/323272002665?epid=170081377&hash=item4b44834c69:g:y0wAAOSwRNRbDXh-
  10. my god thats a lot of toothpaste! LOL! nice
  11. True truthfully, i dont even own an XBox One. was just kidding
  12. For used. I'd pay 120 for: GTX 780 GTX 970 You could pay even less for a GTX 770 or GTX 960 For new. I'd pay 120 for: GTX 1050 ti Getting these prices might take some hunting and patience...
  13. I think i have you all beat Specs: XBox One Lol...
  14. My dad was an OG PC gamer. I remember him hosting a few LANs when i was a child. I mostly learned about PC hardware from my dad. 2 years ago or so, i was no longer satisfied with the performance of my laptop GTX670MX and upgrading to a better mxm card is expensive, so i started researching (like i do with any big purchase) so i could make an informed buying decision. Thats when i discovered the tech tuber space and LTT.
  15. oh man. $15!!!! But if its really worth your time, you might be able to contact customer support and have them credit you the $15 you missed out on.
  16. I wouldn't pay more than $50 USD shipped if it were me. TBH, you could probably get $70+ for it and that probably what i'd list it for starting bid on eBay
  17. as long as the MOBO doesn't use a proprietary main power connector and the OP doesn't mind the jank-ish looks, sure this would work.
  18. Poor dude just wants a decent power supply and everyone here is going at it about which is best on a technical level that is beyond the OP's
  19. I agree. but OP has an HP SFF box bear in mind... I hear its very challenging to find a PSU upgrade for these.
  20. @CrashDexio Depends on who you ask, but id say no. I really don't think this is a good idea. The PSU doesnt supply enough watts IMO. It also may be worth checking how many amps the PSU is rated for on the +12V rail and also how many watts its rated for @ +12V. Just because its a 240W PSU doesnt mean it can do all 240 on the +12V rail.
  21. This is just a build i'm doing for fun. Total cost $975 US Specs: Ryzen 7 1700 ROG Strix B350-F ROG Strix RX580 16 G.Skill Trident Z RGB WD Blue 500GB M.2 (SATA III) SSD MasterLiquid Lite 120 RGB MasterCase h500p Corsair CX550M I know the thermal performance will be pretty meh considering the case and vertical video card orientation but the build is meant to focus on looks. Good looks will help me sell the PC more than good cooling. A buyer will see the AIO, 200mm fans and 3 fan design video card and would assume it has good cooling anyway...
  22. For MGMT, i couldn't resist the shameless suggestion of one of my favorite artists... Plus everything they released since then* has been pretty offbeat and experimental. (maybe except their new album) Love will tear us apart? yes and no... youre right about it being in movies and stuff, but i feel like the mainstream doesnt really know much else by joy division. Especially when you compare to the stuff you hear on the radio today. Not to mention, this thread is ancient, so its not like any of this matters anyways.
  23. If my understanding is correct, with temps like that (63C) you could run the chip on 1.47 V for the entirety of its lifespan without a hitch. What seems off to me is that under load with 1.47V you're only seeing 63C. Depending on you cooling, I'd expect temps to be much higher. I'd recommend updating to the latest BIOS and see if anything changes.
  24. I would argue that the case + fan config matters almost as equally as the cooler and fan to a degree. Some cases will have awful thermals regardless of the cooler you manage to put in them (*cough* *Bitfenix Enso*) An AIO on an OC'd 2700x and 1080ti Strix OC'd inside a Bitfenix Enso (A $90 MSRP case mind you) is probably going to run pretty toasty.
