  1. At this point I have no idea what to do. I tried a new board, new psu, reinstalled on a different drive, new ram. I've even tried an old 3100 just to see if it was a cpu issue. Pretty much a new computer besides the GPU. This 1080ti just refuses to stay on with a ryzen cpu.
  2. Gave that a try as well as updated the firmware on the card, still no luck, I am very confused.
  3. The PSU should be fine, I've had it for a few years now, the card has run on the same PSU using the same connectors before as well so it should be related to the board I am assuming.
  4. Hi all, I'm running into a strange problem that I am very confused about. The card, an Asus 1080ti, as well as the motherboard, an Asus B550 Strix-A are not co-operating. The system boots and goes into windows but crashes after a few minutes of use or sometimes shorter, then goes into a black screen while the PC reboots on its own after a few minutes and loops back around only to crash again and repeat. I probably should mention that it is a fresh install of windows 10, not sure if that matters as I have managed to get the required drivers that I am aware of installed. I have updated the Bios to the latest version available on the Asus website as well as manged to install the latest drivers from Nvidia available by using a different card. While i'm in the bios there was no crashing or anything wrong or out of the ordinary that I noticed. The card is in perfect working condition as well as the board, I took out the card and am running it currently in the old rig with no issues whatsoever. 5. Hey Forum, I'm looking for a laptop for my cousin to use for school and gaming. He mainly plays light games such as LoL, CS:GO, OSU, and other typical staple games. Price point around $650 CND I've found one from ncix that I think fits the needs pretty well and would like your opinions and/or alternatives. http://www.ncix.com/detail/acer-e5-551g-t430-amd-a10-7300-8gb-4c-97253.htm Appreciate any contributions.
  6. I'll prob just wait a bit for the new R9 3XX cards to release, The 770 runs fine on pretty much everything right now, just in a spurgy mood.
  7. Hey forum, I was think about picking up another used GTX 770 for around 200 ish, but I was debating just selling my current 770 and buying a 970 for whatever they cost right now, prob 400ish. Mainly playing big titles and light games like League of Legends and WoW. I also stream sometimes, but I got no viewers =(. Any links to Canadian pricing for cheap 970s would be much appreciated =) Relevant Current Specs: i7 4770k Maximus VII Hero EVGA G2 850W BenQ XL2411Z 144Hz
  8. Hey Forum, So I recently picked up an i7 4770k on the super cheap, like almost a steal for around $100 too good of a deal to pass up, and I was wondering what motherboard I should use with it. Budget: $150-200 Probably gunna use this to play some games maybe stream a bit. Not planning to SLI or Crossfire, but hey you never know. I want to do some overclocking obviously but nothing super crazy. Pretty noob overclocker btw. Also open to and recommendations on other components of the build. Parts I can cannibalize from my current computer: PS: 850W EVGA G2 GPU: EVGA GTX 770 ACX RAM: 16GB Patriot 1600mhz SSD: 240GB Crucial M500 Case: Fractal Define R4 Should I wait for boxing day to pick up a board? not really in a hurry to build this.
  9. Keep up the good work! Long time fan of your channel and have yet to be disappointed in the content.
  10. Hey forum, I was looking to buy a new display and I ran into these two, ASUS VG248QE 24" panel, 144hz refresh rate 1ms response http://www.ncix.com/detail/asus-vg248qe-24in-widescreen-1920x1080-6a-80244-1060.htm QNIX QX2710 27" panel, 60hz(overclockable to 120hz) refresh rate 6ms response http://www.amazon.com/QNIX-Evolution-2560x1440-SAMSUNG-Monitor/dp/B00JTEV47Q/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1404672458&sr=8-3&keywords=qnix I'm mainly going to be using the displays for gaming, but I do appreciate a beautiful display if it means sacrificing some response time. These displays are similarly priced and I would really like the opinion of you guys to help me decide which one to buy. Alternate suggestions for displays are also welcome, 144hz displays preferred. Would like to keep it within the 300 dollar range.
  11. Hey forum, One of my monitors died recently and I'm looking for a replacement, but I have no clue where to start so I thought I would ask you guys. I'd prefer something that is 24 inches, low ms response time as it is mainly for gaming. 1080p probably as I doubt there's any 1440p monitor in the 200 dollar range. Open to any suggestions, links would be appreciated.
  12. I've had this psu for awhile now its been with me through 2 builds now and still going strong =)
  13. Hey Forum, I'm gunna be picking up a Noctua NH-D14, But i'm worried that the air flow in my R4 will get disrupted because the cooler is so big. Current Fan orientation: Intakes 2x 140mm front 1x 140mm side 1x 140mm bottom Exhausts 2x 140mm top 1x 140mm rear Any recommendations for different fan setups are welcome. I was thinking about doing a rear intake and have the NH-D14 pull from the back with the top also changed to intakes and front to exhausts.
