  1. I just checked out some gaming benchmarks, https://www.gamersnexus.net/hwreviews/3086-intel-i5-8400-cpu-review-2666mhz-vs-3200mhz-gaming/page-4 this is showing the i5 outperforming the 1600x, so it may be that at this price range Intel still wins out in a gaming only comparison

  3. I have a 1600x with an GTX 970 and it's running well. I think it's a better product at this price range. I've heard that for the higher end i9/R7 rigs the Intel pc usually games better but the Ryzen system is better for multitasking like streaming or multicore rendering. Intel's single core is better
