  1. Just a hunch but did you connect the cpu fan to the correct connector? It should be connected to the cpu1 header. That's the farthest right connector above the cpu,
  2. In some cases, a 4 pin connector will work in an 8 pin slot. Its not recommended as it can draw too much current and melt the connector.. Take a look at the linked page about 3/4 page down http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#atx12v4
  3. Its an old post but may still work https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-P-Y-and-Z-series/IdeaPad-P580-Recovery-Issue/td-p/1212172
  4. If people are having problems with heat and getting them to work in the system the safe bet would be to replace the old drive with a 2.5 inch ssd.
  5. You know what I absolutely love my Google WIFI home mesh system. It is probably some of the best money I have ever spent. I now have flawless fast wifi over 3 levels of my house. There are a lot of different devices of different ages in this house. I have zero problems. Have gone the complicated route in the past. Spent good money and was never happy and had to fix things constantly. Google wifi has been a dream.
  6. Yes, your correct. Sorry if I wasn't clear on this. "Manual Variable Speed Fan Controller" meaning you would have to adjust the speed by hand.
  7. You can get a manual Variable Speed Fan Controller but honestly just buying new fans would be cheaper. Yes, the fans just run at full speed as they are directly wired to the power in your current setup.
  8. The board now has the preferred future standard. I think you will stop seeing the slower standard. The sata ssd is just as good as the slower m2. but you can wait for prices to drop and upgrade to the m2 nvme in the future if you want with the MB you already own.
  9. Thanks for the response. I still think dual channel will bring greater benefits than even 1 stick of faster memory. Not to mention the board has 4 DIMM slots. I would doubt in the near future a mid lvl system would need greater than 16g of ram.
  10. Why the single stick? You want to take advantage of dual channel.

  12. Yeah you can go with an m2 ssd or a sata one they will give you the same speeds so go with whatever one is priced better. EDIT I looked up you MB and it only takes M key m2 ssd. So that would be NVMe m2 Solid State Drive This type of m2 ssd is up to 3 times the speed of a sata sdd but cost a good bit more
  13. First off, congratz on building your first Pc! You did not mention a hd or ssd. If you did get a platter hd your first and best upgrade should be an ssd drive.
  14. If you want a 1-1 of your game u can try opening the browser on the tv and resizing the browser till the second window looks clear. It may work.
  15. My question is what would be better 2 Samsung 960 EVO 250g in raid 0 or 1 500g EVO 960. As they would cost about the same give or take like $5.
