  1. I recently upgraded the motherboard, processor, and graphics card in my PC. After starting it up, however, it goes to a black screen and returns to the windows 10 login screen after being up for 5 minutes. The lights and fans still stay on during the reboot process. In event viewer, it shows that I have run into a Kernel Power Failure (41) error. I've tried looking it up already and attempted multiple solutions to fixing it, including: Buying a more powerful power supply (750W from 550W) Moving to a different power outlet in the house Reseating RAM and graphics card Reinstalling chipset, networking, audio drivers Running sfc /scannow and dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth Reinstalling Windows Reinstalling Windows on a different SSD Switching to my old graphics card (GTX 1070ti > GTX 970) So far, none of the solutions have worked so far. Hoping someone could help me out. The XML file from event viewer is also attached to the post. Running Windows 10 in safe mode is the only way I can get to the event viewer and check logs or drivers without the system rebooting. 2. I recently installed Ubuntu 20.04 on my SSD, same as where Windows 10 is (dual boot system). No audio plays when I plug my headphones in to play music/watch Youtube videos on Ubuntu. I tried a fix on Github, but it didn't work. Audio works normally when I boot back into Windows 10. Anyone know a fix? Laptop specs: Lenovo C930 256GB SSD Intel i7-8550u
  3. thanks for the suggestion, however I would like to be able to take my laptop for more than 2 hours before having to charge it.
  4. checked the link, while it looks great, i NEED 16 gb of ram. It looks like the i5 model has the ram soldered on, and the i7 model is way out of my reach in terms of cost. I'll take a look at the stuff lenovo has though.
  5. Hello, I'm looking for a new laptop for school. Hoping to find something with at least (will not consider anything less than these aspects): - Intel i5 - i7 - Nvidia MX150 or 250 - 16 GB of ram - 1080P screen that looks decent - AC wifi - 6-7+ hours of battery life - 14' - 15' screen - USB type A (at least one, doesn't matter if it is 2.0 or 3.0) - bluetooth 4.2 or a headphone jack - 256-512 GB SSD PCIe - not a gaming laptop, something that is reasonably thin and light to take around - between $1000 - $1400 - Would like any brand except: razer, apple, HP, acer The following would be nice, but are optional: - USB C with thunderbolt 3 - Touchscreen - Fingerprint or IR camera - Backlit keyboard If you guys know anything that matches, link it in the comments. For those wondering, I'm using the laptop for post-secondary CS. Thanks.
  6. I have an Intel AC-8265 wifi chip in my ASUS UX430. The wifi speed reaches 330 down/16 up as per my internet plan, but slows to 16 down/16 up after a couple of minutes. I've updated drivers and clean installed them multiple times with no permanent success. It has become pretty irritating when I want to play games of any kind or want to use my wifi's full potential. Anyone know how to fix?
  7. Hey everyone, When playing games on GeforceNow, I get intermittent lag spikes in games (quality goes down and starts to lag) that usually lasts for about 4 seconds. After that, everything else is fine and the game becomes smooth again. It gets really annoying as if usually happens pretty often when I'm playing games. I'm not sure if the problem is related to my wifi card on my laptop or the router itself. Here's what I have: Laptop: ASUS UX430UA CPU: Intel i5-8250u RAM: 8GB-2133 Mhz Wi-Fi: Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265
  8. Hey, I get this error everytime I turn my Samsung A5 on, “Current unable to download. Please try again later.” What app is it talking about and how can I fix this?
  9. Hey, I use OBS for streaming, but it stops after a random amount of time. I have a pretty good internet connection with 120 down, 20 up. The hardware I have is a intel i5-8250u, 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB SSD.
  10. Hey guys, I have a HP deskjet 2542 and when attempting to connect it to my laptop, it says that there is MAC address filtering enabled on my router. I don't know how to check my wifi settings for this option. I checked the settings and resetting the router settings multiple times already. I'm trying to connect it to an ASUS zenbook ux430, which I recently got. The odd part is that this has worked before, but now it does not.
  11. Hey, I know this is a bit late, but I’m trying to look for a laptop for school and post secondary. I’m willing to spend $1000+ on it. I’ll use it for typing documents, using office and computer programming, basic use like emails and for light gaming. Something preferably 13”-14”, as I will be carrying it around a lot. The battery will need to last close to 10 hours and there should be either fingerprint sensor or windows hello.
  12. Hey, my HP laptop randomly goes to a black screen, sometimes with white bars or screen. I have a HP 17-y018ca with Windows 10 on it. It has 12gb of ram, an amd a10-9600p and integrated R5 graphics. There’s a 128gb ssd, the screen is 17 inches and the bios version is F.38. I started having this problem about 1-2 weeks ago out of the blue when using it to play fortnite on GeForceNow and discord. How do I fix this?
  13. Hey, this problem began to start today. My monster isport earbuds don't work. They used to work the day before, but now it only works when I plug it into power after it flashes red and blue a couple of times. They even still worked after going through the wash and dryer, way before all of this. When I unplug the earbuds, they don't turn on. Pressing any of the buttons does nothing. Ideas?
  14. sorry i haven't been specific. I use office apps for school. i also do light web browsing and some work on adobe photoshop and indesign. My budget is $500.
