  1. I already have a desktop this is for gaming on the go I got the steam deck and yeah i can understand why so many people have them
  2. I tend to play RPGs anyway so limited multiplayer isn't that bad for me, especially when i'd be travelling
  3. Thinking back to the past 4 times i used my laptop they were all for gaming, with 1 exception. When i moved house
  4. So my current gaming laptop has kinda died (keyboard is borked on it and cba to take it apart and fix it) and i was thinking about replacing it; my laptop was always a backup to my desktop or to use if i'm travelling However i had a thought today of given that i mainly use it for gaming would it be worth actually not replacing the laptop and just getting a Steam deck? Given that my budget for a replacement laptop was gonna be around £1000 anyway My understanding is that ANY steam game can work on the steam deck (Might require a bit of tweaking but i'm sure there are guides for that)
  5. You mean something like this? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sabrent-NVMe-PCIe-aluminum-EC-PCIE/dp/B084GDY2PW/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=PCIe+M.2+Adapter&qid=1689187297&sr=8-4 Filled with an appropriate SSD. Do they require separate drivers or just plug and play?
  6. Na i only want 2TB minimum and at max 4TB. I'm only just under half full on my HDD
  7. I'd say i can yeah, i only have 1x m.2 slot on my mobo which is what my boot drive is so it needs to be 2.5" drives
  8. So like most people i used a HDD for large capacity storage for games, however the HDD that i have is almost 10 years old and i THINK is starting to show it's age a bit so rather than just automatically going and buying another HDD i'd thought i'd actually do some research I've never done SSDs for large storage because the price per GB was always far too high to the capacity i want (2TB minimum). So how drastically has the price per GB changed recently, are SSDs for large bulk storage a valid option now?
  9. So i was in the middle of playing Jedi survivor when the xbox controller i have just stopped working, went to device manger and don't even see it listed in there even after a scan for new hardware I've tried a new cable, new port, running sfc /scannow, restarting, shutting down the PC, running windows updates I can't connect via bluetooth as my PC doesn't have it built in I'm stumped, i can't re-install teh driver as it doesn't appear in device manager to begin with Edit: I've plugged the device into another machine and it didn't work. So it's broke; on the day the warranty expires to hmmm, rather sus
  10. I think the issue might have been the extension cable i plugged it into as i took out the (Brand new i might add) extension cable from the wall it tripped the breaker. Ordered a masterplug from amazon
  11. AMD 3600 Nvidia 2060 Super Gaming Plus Max B450 Motherboard Corsair vengeance 16GB RAM
  12. It's only been happening today and it only seemed to happen in games, so i first thought it was a graphics driver issue, seemed to solve it until i tried to load into a mission in Dark tide then it restarted Looking at event viewer doesn't give me much info beyond something to do with Windows Security which after a google i've changed the delayed autostart to 0 I've also run a checkdisk on my C drive which seemed to be fine. Temperatures are all fine, i can't seem to reliably replicate the issue. I'm currently waiting for a 22H2 cumulative update to install but can't think of what else it can be
  13. So make sure that assuming the device is ARC compatible plug that into the TV and then what ever else is connected to the TV via other HDMI ports should route through teh sound bar/system?
  14. How would i connect a separate play to that and have the TV use the sound bar? Given that i'm used to combo units you might need to do a ELI5
  15. Having just moved in with my girlfriend i've now got a small issue i'm trying to rectify. Due to the way the lounge is setup i can't use my existing sound system as all speakers are cabled therefore meaning cables running along the floor/having to make super long extensions to go around doors etc. So i'm now having to look for an alternative method, problem is that home cinema setups have come a long way i'm basically starting at square one again, with a budget of around £600 i'm not sure how best to do it. Any help would be appreciated. Blue-Ray play is required as i have blue-rays and wireless rear speakers (if going with the full speaker setup) are required as well
  16. So i haven't needed to look into monitors for over a decade (as i've been using a TV as a monitor for space saving reasons), however i am now able to separate my TV from my PC, meaning i now need to look at monitors, the first thing that confused me was FreeSync vs GSync. Some places are stating that you can use either regardless of GPU others are saying you have to match up (Like Nvidia GPU you need a GSync monitor) Can someone clear this up for me
  17. Yeah it play the tracks fine, in English as well it's just all of the album info that is in Japanese
  18. I just bought myself a new album (Sabaton - The War to End All Wars). I was only released 3 days ago I always rip my CDs to put on my phone, however when i put in my CD Windows Media Player (Which is what i use to rip my CDs) shows it as Japanese characters I'm not sure how to get round this, is it a cased of just waiting for the online database to be updated?
  19. Its not upgrading its replacing. The TV would now go where its meant to. In the lounge; meaning id have no display
  20. Because i currently have a TV amd i dont have space for a TV and a monitor
  21. Because im still in my flat and dont have the space. Plus recently dropp a lot of money on a guitar so
  22. Because i have lived in a flat with limited space i have not had the space to seperate my PC from my TV when it comes to the display However as im looking at moving to a bigger place soon i will finally have more room, meaning i need to actually buy some monitors and not just a TV Problem is that the world of displays is a rabbit hole and im not sure if i need a "gaming" monitor as im not doing competative gaming, at least not to the extent where a gaming monitors response rate would affect it Im only doing 1080p gaming and as im looking at buying two monitors i am not wanting to break the bank when it comes to monitors Not sure which brands to flat out avoid
  23. It's fine, it was a lightbulb moment about 5 minutes ago. I appreciate you looking for the alt codes anyway
