  1. Isn't that a board/vendor issue, rather than a CPU issue however? (ICBW!) -Dx
  2. In my "novice" and "just a viewer" corner, to me, it seems that would be great option for the floatplane publishers e.g. LTT is downloadable, but BitWitKyle (or whoeveer) decide they don't want the videos to be downloaded, and thus the platform offers the best of both worlds. But I would also like my cake, get to eat it, and have it delivered with the moon-on-a-stick poking out of the top and having written CMS systems akin to Floatplane I am aware that developer time costs money, features aren't free, and users (like myself) want everything hand delivered to them on a shiny silver platter... ;-) -Dx
  3. It looks like, just maybe, the end could be in sight for those having PCI Passthru problems with platforms like UnRAID and the Zen core CPUs... https://lists.linuxfoundation.org/pipermail/iommu/2017-October/024822.html Soon be time for an xGamers1CPU on Threadripper, @LinusTech? ;-) -Dx
  4. all the magic details you need: -Dx
  5. Synergy does a lot more than a pKVM (for most people, as most people use it) even a super fancy one... as much as the Copy-Paste can be a pain in the pooper it still allows me to copy and paste _between_ the machines... And, of course, with Synergy I can have a single IO setup and see what it on my Windows box, right next to my Mac, and - say, be gaming on Windows and watching WANShow on the mac, and easily swing my mouse over to poke at twitch comments without actually losing sight of the windows desktop... Sure, it's a "Physical Screen Palaver" with more monitors than the KVM, but the operational functionality is very different... -Dx
  6. I bought Synergy *purely* to support LTT. The copy and paste is especially "hoaky" between differing platforms, and has done for... like... 10+ years, you can sometimes "config your way out of it" by mapping Alts to Apples, etc. but it will disappear after a few updates. The commercial, alas, seems to be no better supported too in that regard... -Dx
  7. That's shared with system memory, I think.... but your points are still valid -Dx
  8. It's a closer run thing if your attitude is "4K-Bluray is like the HDMI passthru on the xbone, or HD-DVD on the 360!" It's not something I think a lot of people want or will use, and adds to the overall BOM. If you tried to add those features to a compatible "console killer" your PC price is going to skyrocket, and your gaming ability is going to do nothing for it... Can I get one without a coaster-drive, without HDMI in, and with a wedge more off the retail please? -Dx
  9. Yes, but that was due to the ATI Nano's having really pants drivers -Dx
  10. You could probably do it without the RAM upgrade if you were trying to save pennies, but I have Unraid on a R7 and it works a treat! x
