  1. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I was wondering if the following used pc was a good deal for $650? Apparently a 2020 h1 Mini PC pro from NZXT i-9900k z390 aurous pro wifi 16 gb ddr4 ram RTX 2070 super unknown what storage it has
  2. I wasn't exactly where to put this post but I have a configuration that I wonder if it would work. I was wondering if you could do some gaming on a notebook computer with a i7 U series intel CPU. Say something like in an XPS 13. I'm talking about some heavier games on medium settings. To enable this I would use an eGPU over thunderbolt 3 with say a Nvdia 1060. However I realize you are likely to hit a CPU bottleneck normally as the CPU would need to turbo pretty consistently to run the games but would probably not be able to do that due to too much heat. So if I added the Opolar notebook cooler (https://www.amazon.com/Temperature-Display-Cooling-Auto-Temp-Detection/dp/B00XKU47Y2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1505531943&sr=8-1&keywords=opolar%2Bnotebook&th=1) to keep the CPU cooler would it be able to consistently turbo enough that the games would run steadily? Or would this setup not really work out?
  3. different types of servers and how the hardware components/general builds vary between them. Alternatively/additionally do an LTT video about generally the same except using your own server room as a guide of how its used to optimize storage and computing resources for your workflow (I know this has been somewhat done in other videos but not recently I believe and not taking into account all the different servers)
  4. I kinda figured the yoga 720 on performance. I just prefer the size, weight and battery of the hp (although the last two are a little harder to be sure of between different configs). Also the ports on the 720 kinda suck (no SD, no HDMI). So i find myself in the unenviable position of going that I prefer the HP for most things day to day but could really get on board with the lenovo on the fewer but still there times I could use the performance. I'm kind of tempted to just say the HP will be good enough for light CAD work (I wont need huge assemblies or rendering) and call it that. But would love any more feedback about either machine/others
  5. hello all, I was hoping I could get some insight into a particular laptop choice. I need to buy a new laptop as mine is undergoing a slow death. I however have a little eclectic mix of needs. I will be going off to college in about a year so I am looking at something relatively portable for then. I also got an early taste for taking notes on a laptop/tablet hybrid back in like 2007 as part of my schools technology initiative. As laptops with real pens kind of disappeared for a while, I haven't had a real chance to do so since but would like it for college as I know it makes me more organized (with onenote) and efficient. so I am mainly looking at 2 in 1s with decent pen support. However I am going to be studying mechanical engineering so I will need to use solidworks (CAD program) at least somewhat. I would also not mind doing some light gaming (probably nothing more than the remastered skyrim) if I happen to have time. So I have been looking at 15inch models as they tend to have discrete graphics cards. so I have been mainly looking at the just updated 15in spectre x360 which comes with the just released quad core i7-8550u as well as 16gb ram, and nvidia geforce mx150 (with 2gb gddr5) the other competitor I've mainly seen is the Lenovo yoga 720 15 in which surprisingly has a quad core i7-7700hq and an nvdia gtx1050 (with 2gb gddr5) packed in there with equivalent ram options. any particular thoughts between these two or other options? Or are some of my assumptions wrong and I should be looking elsewhere? Lastly is it worth waiting till Intel releases its 8th Gen in the hq package size before making a choice? sorry for the somewhat long winded explanation but would welcome some help
