Oh... no... you see Lets say if you charge you battery by 10000000% from 0 to 100% it'll last 2 years. but if you charge it from 30-80% for total of the same amount it'll last like 4 years! Batteries (lipos) dont like staying at 100% or being there at all. so some manufactures (mainly lenovo and ibm and Vaio) let you set a limit to stop cahrging at 60% of the max when you're not leaving the house! or don't need that much charge!
-
I was about to buy either ux430 or HP Spectre x360 and Asus has a software that lets you limit your charging to 60% when you're leaving your laptop plugged in to increase lifespan. I couldn't find anything like this for HP. is there any way I can do that on the HP because even though it's more expensive I really rather buy the specter. but if it doesn't have this feature I rather go with Asus (no pen or touch or folding or windows hello! :(, but at least it's bigger!).
-
D; that's awful! I personally had on kind of port fail for me ! never had USB C either tbh. I'm going to buy an HP Spectre x360 soon though. with only usb c and a type a D:
-
D: in what way/laptop?
-
Uhmmm HUBs introduce problems and glitches AFAIK.
-
maybe 8 was too extreme. but you get it 2 isn't enough at allll! 4 is almost acceptable! Think of it this way: A display a mouse a keyboard an external drive and a charging cable(that's 6 in total) ! and an extra for stuff like MIDI webcams blah blah. I'd consider that good but remember it's only available on the insanely expensive laptops! if it was already the future I'd be ok with 1 thunderbolt 3 port and 2 gen 2 2 gen 1 usb C with USB 2.0 underneath (you get the space thing if that's what you're looking for!)
-
I agree. but that's a bit extreme. all i' asking is single or more usb c with type a. magsafe (or charging port) and an HDMI or display port. that's all I don't find use for anything else. although I do have a pc at home! I'm sure people without a pc would use more USB ports
-
it's replacing mag safe ethernet 3 usb ports and display port/hdmi. not just usb. still hubs. that interduces problems and reduces mobility. but I agree getting home and plugging a single cable for everything is nice. but there are docks! (although not compatible with all devices) and that requires a single port anyway!

Agreed. sadly everyone always loves doing what apple does. which in this case isn't a good move. I was actually super tempted to get the macbook pro 13" as my secondary device (I have a gaming PC at home) because the display is just freaking beautiful. AFAIK nothing matches that! also nice battery and stuff. not to mention that body is beautiful... and oh god I'm getting off topic I don't have money anyway. Although I can save more.
-
I agree apple's move is stupid IMO. I wish companies were more of a coward

Yeah. and if they want to go full usb C include like atleast 6 or 8 of them! (if they think the future is all USB C)
