  1. Thanks for the tip. Bit by bit meaning like 1 unit multiplier at a time and maybe 0.05V at a time? Should it really be aida64/prime/3d mark to test it? can't I just use intel xtu?
  2. Hi Guys, As the title says, I’m a noob that wants to overclock my processor, my system as follows; Mobo: MSI Z370m gaming pro AC CPU: Intel i5 8600k (not delided) CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i v2 PSU: Cooler Master v750 RAM: 2x8GB DDR4 2133mhz (OC to 2666mhz) GPU: Zotac 1070 mini PC Case: Tecware Nexus M (matx) Fan Config: 2x front intake (push) via Aio cooler Rad (I used Noctua nf-f12 ippc 3000 rpm fans) Additional 1x front intake (no rad, Noctua nf-f12) 2x Exhaust at top (stock fans of H100i v2) 1x Rear exhaust (Noctua nf-f12) May Question is, based on Your experience and expertise and given my PC setup, is it possible to overclock my processor to 5ghz? Average Room temp is kindof warm at 27 degrees celcius. I see a lot of Youtube videos i5 8600k getting 5ghz without breaking a sweat. Any tips? Which multiplier and voltage should I start? What increment should I adjust up or down for voltage and multiplier? what OC load temps should I consider "ok" ? Will my PC burn if i try to start and jump at 5ghz first? How will i know if the OC speed is stable? Please help. Thanks in advanced Cheers!
  3. My budget is around $100 US. My location is Singapore. my options to buy online is Amazon and newegg, i also have access with local retailers for better deals. though sometimes online got better deals.. any other better models for my budget that You can suggest? I'm also considering Corsair H105, i just need to delay for a month to save a bit more, and stick with my crappy stock cooler a bit longer..
  4. Yeah, maybe it has something to do with TDP and H7 having 3 copper heat pipes and TF having 6 Aluminum heat pipes. I don't have any idea how 3 copper or 6 Al becomes better than the other.. so now im still confused what to get..my budget is max $100 to a $110 max..
  5. i actually considered it, but it has low tdp, u know, humans, happy a bit atm but eventually will want to push to the limit when overclocking i don't mind spending a bit more (not 240 aio price bit more) because i don't intend to change cooler for at least a year or 2..
  6. i already maxed out the no. of fans, 3 intake at front, 2 exhaust at top, and 1 exhaust at rear. im using stock cooler atm from my previous non k cpu, i don't overclock yet so its doing fine for now hahaha.. but i will need a proper cooler soon..
  7. about $20 difference, h80i v2 is the more expensive one. my rams are the cheap naked kingston, and i put some generic aluminum heat spreaders, height barely changed. they look awesome than the rgb expensive ones. for me at least. not a fan of rgb.. and my case specs says max cpu cooler height supported is 155mm..
  8. will it not affect the air temp inside the case considering i only have a small case? im not sure if it works like this but what i understand, it will blow all the hot air inside the case.. i have a lot of intake and exhaust fans though..but not sure if it will help.
  9. in my place 240mm rad aio are quite expensive, refurbished products are rarely offered online, and buying online will have a high delivery charge apart from the price. 2nd hand stuff are scary af..
  10. my case is tecware nexus m. its like a cheap version of nzxt s340 elite.. not a fan of RGB, so i want it dark as possible, that is why im keen with dark pro TF and h80i v2
  11. Hi Guys, As the title says, please help me decide to choose a cooler for overclocking my cpu. i won't push it to the limits, i will be happy with slight overclock. My system as follows: CPU: i5 8600k MOBO: MSI z370m gaming pro AC GPU: zotac 1070 mini (to upgrade to 1080 ti when price drops at release of next gen, or buy a next gen) RAM: 2x 8GB DDR4 2133 Mhz (OC to 2666 mhz) PSU: Cooler master v750 80 Plus Gold full modular Fans: 3x noctua front intake 2x cooler master sickle flow exhaust at top 1x fan exhaust at rear (those fans are donated by my friends, i want to utilize it) here's the situation, i am staying at a hot environment, no AC, average room temp is 26-27 deg centigrade, can be hotter up to 29-30 deg during summer, 24-25 during winter. I have 2 options: a) Corsair H80i V2 b) be quiet! dark rock TF Im using a very average MATX case im scared of AIO as im not born lucky, i might win the lottery of getting an AIO that will leak. but im hesitant to get an air cooler as they say (from reviews) its bad for small cases because hot air from all inside components will add up making it hot inside the case, thus will affect temps for cpu and gpu. Please enlighten me. Help me decide regardless of the price difference of the 2 option i mentioned, i can get good deals for both. Please don't recommend 240mm rad AIO they are way overpriced and im not in that level of enthusiast, i'm just using for gaming and light tasks, no rendering nor video editing. i only use it for work for autocad. Thanks for taking time to read and pls don't laugh at me, im a noob that needs your advice. TIA. Cheers!
  12. Wow this is a big bonus info. Thanks a lot!
  13. Hi Doc, Thanks for the quick reply. Good thing I asked first. I was thinking to glue the heat sink pieces on the big black rectangular things around the GPU core and medium sized rectangular grey things beside the aluminum heat sink
  14. Hi Guys! I'm a noob and needs help, please see my attached photo of my crappy 1060 gpu, can You guys help and show me where is the vrm? Under the aluminum fins have 4 or 5 small black rectangular component/parts. I ask because i have an arctic accelero hybrid 3-120mm (generic) which comes with small aluminum heat sink pieces which will be glued using thermal glue to VRM but i don't know where are the VRM's on my card Thanks in advanced!
