  1. So, I've been using a Powerline adapter that has worked very well thus far, its a tp-link av600 (https://www.tp-link.com/au/products/details/cat-18_TL-PA411KIT.html) I believe. The switch I've picked up is this one https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/d-link-5-port-gigabit-switch-dgs-1005a-dldgs1005a And I have a chromecast ultra which has the built in ethernet port. My network drivers are all up to date too.
  2. Hi guys So recently I bought a switch to set up a wired connection with my chromecast as well as my PC. Since about then, I've had a number of connection issues. Firstly, when casting local videos/movies to my chromecast from my pc, I get random audio cut outs and video freezes to the point where I have to restart the video. Before getting a switch, this never happened. In Heroes of the Storm, the store no longer loads for me. It says 'unlocking temporarily unavailable', and I can't select any customization options for my heroes. In CSGO, the main menu news doesn't load, in League of Legends, the main menu doesn't load. I can still play games, but I'll get random lag spikes every so often. I've tried all the standard stuff, like resetting my router, disconnecting the switch and going back to my normal connection, basically, I've tried to set everything to the way it was before, but nothing changes. I've also tried using the ipconfig /release, ipconfig /flushdns, ipconfig /renew commands, which was to no avail. I assume I have somehow messed with some network settings and now everything's playing up, but I can't figure out what. I'm stumped. Would greatly appreciate any help or directions to help fix these issues.
  3. Yeah tried lowering clocks on the ram and core clock - no luck.
  4. To start, my specs - CPU: i5 4690k @ 4.6ghz Motherboard: MSI Gaming 3 Z97 Graphics: MSI 6gb 1060 Hi all! So about three months ago, pretty much all my games would start to experience some kind of fps lag or other crazy graphical errors, some game models would even start spazzing out, after 5-10minutes of gameplay. Some games, including all Blizzard games (WoW, Hearthstone, Heroes of the storm, Overwatch) could cause these graphical errors to go a step further, and cause both my monitors to start artifacting like crazy, then they would reset, and I'd experience no more weird graphical errors or fps lag of any kind, until I turn my computer off. The Blizzard app would also lock up - but can close it and reopen and play Blizzard games with no issue. Occasionally Windows 10 tells me that hardware acceleration has been turned off after this happens, but I cant find out how to turn it off to begin with, and this problem has only come up recently. I've tried everything I can think off - reinstalling all my drivers, turning overclocks off, changing ram configs, resetting bios battery, repairing games - nothing has seemed to work, so I've come to the LTT forum for assistance! Thanks in advance, BJordn
  5. Currently I have a BenQ XL2411Z and I feel like I'd enjoy the 1440p life more than the 144hz life. Does anyone have any experience with the Asus VX24AH and can weigh in any opinions? Especially those who have gamed on both. For reference, I'm running a i5 4690K @ 4.8ghz and a GTX 1060 @ 2.1k OC I originally got the XL2411Z back when I played CS:GO seriously, but I think I would prefer a 1440p 60hz/75hz OC experience in all the other games that I play. Except for League/CS:GO, it was pretty difficult to hold a constant 144fps+ without sacrificing too much graphics options.
  6. I'll probably go for the antec psu. It will be capable of further overclocks than 4ghz aswell correct?
  7. At the moment I have a Silverstone Essential 500W PSU and was wondering if it would be sufficient enough to OC my i5 4690k to ATLEAST 4ghz. My MSI 1060 6GB has also been overclocked using MSI afterburner for +150 core clock and +650 memory clock. If this PSU wont cut it, what PSU for around $100 AUD would be most optimal?
  8. Currently have an AMD HD7850. Been running it for about 2 years, but now it's struggling to keep up. Have to run games low graphics to keep up a consistent 144fps for my BenQ XL2411 Having one of the new Polaris GPU's would greatly help bring me back to 144fps glory
  9. So, you are saying to save everything important, wipe HDD and install fresh windows onto SSD and move everything back to HDD / SSD?
