  1. Incon - Smite Hilarious guy and also manages to be very high skilled despite having tourettes (manifests as motor ticks which in MOBAs as i'm sure you know can be very annoying) Has done some SPL games, but unfortunately he performs better as a streamer than a Pro Gamer, he is getting a lot better
  2. Sounds like a overheating issue PC do that when the temperature gets to high as a safety feature, open up the machine and clean out the gunk inside your machine with compressed air and see if that works, can also be caused by outdated graphics drivers, and in one rare cas it was a BIOS update that needed to be done
  3. Right so run me through how to setup would need to go with something like that as i recall struggling with visualizing how everything should go
  4. I don't think that would work for me, i remember planning the setup was a pain as at the time i had a limited budget and couldn't go balls to the wall on the surround system My TV only has 2 HDMI Inputs, i use 1 for my computer (I use my TV as a monitor also) and then the other one is going to the base unit and because my base unit doesn't have a HDMI input thus the janky optical cable input setup If you however do figure out a way please let me know, less cabling for the same results is always good
  5. I have the following connected to my surround system Computer TV Blu-Ray Player Because i only have 1 HDMI and 1 Optical Input on the base unit i have to get a bit clever with the configuration. I use an optical switch to go from having them work for my computer to working on my TV, if i want to watch Blu-Ray's/DVDs then it's fine i'd just use it as you would naturally use it. It's the fact that i have everything connected to it that i had to use a 3 way optical switch
  6. That might be a nice way of doing it, would still have to go through my optical switch; yeah i know it's a bit of a janky setup
  7. So that would work in the following way: Optical cable from my computer into the Optical In Optical Out to the Optical In of the Base unit?
  8. Unfortunately it only has 1 HDMI slot on the base unit which is in use; going from the base unit to the TV
  9. The Surround system only has 1 HDMI input/output which is going to the TV for watching DVDs / Blu-Rays
  10. I sometimes connect my 5.1 surround system to my computer for playing music which uses an optical cable, the speakers aren't designed for PC use so don't have 3.5mm jacks. It's a Home Theater surround system and so the speakers plug into the base unit/amp and then you use HDMI or Optical cable for connections to teh base unit Anyway, i've noticed recently that a lot of motherboards nowadays don't come with digital outputs anymore and unless i'm wanting to spend around £80 extra to get a MOBO that has one it's tricky. Question is that for £80 could i get a decent sound card. My knowledge of bang for buck with sound cards is minimal Should point out that my 5.1 speaker system isn't super high end it's a £250 piece of kit which works fine for me, this is more for a case of if i want to get a new PC (If i'm replacing the MOBO i may as well buy a whole new rig) i need to work out what i'm going to need to buy
  11. Was thinking that, wasn't sure if that would create some shorts on the keyboard
  12. I've got a Logitech G510 keyboard which has a squeaky space bar but i don't know how to fix it i don't have any compressed air the only cleaner i have is flammable as it's a cleaner rather than a can of compressed, i heard that talcum powder works fine but i want to check before
  13. Logic Gates XOR / OR etc. I find it really easy but the amount of people i speak to in the tech world that don't understand them ...
  14. How do i know what is stable range i don't want to risk blowing my brand new GPU and be out £145 for nothing
  15. I don't actually know i haven't opened my machine case in ages, i have a inclination it's a 450w PSU though if i recall correctly. I know that i have enough power for a graphics card as my 650ti requires a 6pin connector so i'm going from that to one that doesn't require an additional source of power
  16. A couple of days ago i ordered a EVGA 1050ti from Amazon as an upgrade from my old 650ti, mainly to get smoother frame rates in Crysis 2 and Paragon, now as this card has no supplementary power connectors (so it just runs of the 75w you get from the PCI-e connector) is it even possible to overclock it, and if so is it worth doing? I should note that i have no idea whether my motherboard supports overclocking unless i'm getting my wires crossed and that argument only goes for overclocking CPUs I currently get around 50 fps in Paragon with settings on medium (according to steam fps counter) Crysis 2 seems a bit weird i'll run the game one day and get 24 fps, run it like 3 hours later and get 60fps without changing ANY settings (Again using steam fps counter) Above is using my 650Ti which i don't think is overclocked (was my brothers old machine whom i don't think was into overclocking as he wasn't a big gamer anymore)
  17. By Mining i'm guessing you mean Crytocurrency mining, that is completely unknown to me can you give me the cliff notes into that?
  18. 650 Ti memory error on my count there, as i'm not at my machine had to try and recall this from memory
  19. Last week i posted on here about upgrading my rig and a lot of people suggested just upgrading the graphics card (Which currently is a 690 Ti) I'm perfectly happy with doing that, but recently i've been doing a lot of research into the big tech brand battles (Intel vs AMD and Nvidia vs AMD) and i'm trying to workout whether there is any real noticeable difference in performance between the 1050 Ti and AMDs equivalent (whcih i believe is the RX 470) I'm not doing super uber high end gaming as i don't have the time for that but i'll list the games i tend to play on a regular basis - Skyrim SE - SMITE - Mass Effect 3 - Bioshock Trilogy - Paragon SMITE and Skyrim SE are the 2 main ones i play (although getting into Paragon a bit as well) and i'm wondering whether these games are generally better optimised for one brand of graphics card compared to the other So is there any kind of noticeable difference between the two cards or is it mainly just snobbery at this point (I won't deny i've been a avid Nvidia and Intel fanboy for a decade because when i was really into PC building they simply were the better brands)
  20. Na my graphics card has a 6pin and if i recall correctly my brother was very facetious about no excess cabling so all psu cables are now in use meaning none spare
  21. Do either of those need additional power from the PSU as my G card only has a 6pin connector so
  22. I can't remember specially as as i'm not at home i can't check, i was looking at buying a new graphics card as it happens i just wondered whether it would just be a better idea to full upgrade the system
