  1. Hey all, I'm trying to convert my ssds to a GPT format so I can enable SAM. When trying to run the command I get disk layout validation failed and i'm not sure why. I have done as much troubleshooting that I could find but need some extra help. Things I have already tried: Made sure there is enough free space on each partition, only have 2 partitions on the drive, and bitlocker is disabled. Any help would be much appreciated thanks!
  2. Hi all, so i'm helping my parents improve our home network. Over prime day I bought two new tp link routers(ax5400 and ax1800) and need some advice on the best way to set them up. My main confusion lies with how to configure the second router as I want that one to act as a wired network extender to reach the rest of the house. I have the Ax5400 set up and internet working on that one which includes a wired switch which goes to some computers and tvs. Im not sure what mode to have the second router(ax1800) in to enable it to extend the signal. I currently have it in router mode because we also have some wired connections going to that one and currently just set it up with the same SSID and password. Is that all I need to do or is there a different way to get it to act as another wired router on my network? Also any additional settings I should mess around with as of right now I just did all the default setup. Any help is appreciated thanks!
  3. Today I noticed that my volume down and brightness up/down function shortcut buttons weren't working on my Lenovo laptop. All the other function shortcut keys work as well as all the function keys. Tried updating windows and keyboard drivers/resetting keyboard settings to default with no fix. Any help would be appreciated.
  4. from what ive read, very few 3900xs go over 4.3 in game and the 4.6 claim from AMD is when it hits 4.6 for a couple of seconds in a single core benchmark. From all the testing ive done, im getting higher performance with the manual OC(even in gaming benchmarks) over stock or running PBO. My friend also runs a 3900x on a 280 aio and he gets roughly the same clock speeds when he runs PBO.
  5. I have a 420 aio and have never seen anywhere near 4.6 in game even with PBO on. From all the benchmarking ive done(even gaming benchmarks) the manual oc has given me more performance than the stock settings as well as enabling PBO. From what Ive read, most peoples 3900x also doesnt get close to that in game most sit around 4. When I use PBO mine does an all more of 4.2 but at 1.4v.
  6. Hi all, so I'm brand spanking new to the OC world. I recently bought a 420 AIO for my 3900x. I spent a whole night looking up OC guides and this is what I came up with after a night of testing and benchmarks. I am able to hit an all core of 4.3 at 1.305v. I was told that 1.3v was a safe starting voltage for 24/7 loads for zen 2. I just want to make sure 1.3 is confirmed to be a safe 24/7 OC voltage. I was able to complete multiple hour-long cinabench runs with no issues. My workflow is mainly just gaming and streaming so my CPU never gets anywhere near full load. Any advice and tips would be much appreciated.
  7. Just got a new 5700XT. I used to have an rx 480 with a dual monitor setup. I could never get the display ports working on it but was able to run both monitors off HDMI, however new card only has one HDMI output with the rest being DP. Now i cant get the display ports working on new card as well. I have done the first steps of troubleshooting(checking connections, power cycling monitor, fresh drivers, etc) any help would be appreciated thanks!
  8. Hi all. So i recently started recording/streaming using Xsplit. I have been running into a little trouble while recording and streaming. Basically whenever I record/stream everything is fine until about 10 minutes in the video framerate starts to get choppy. Everything else is fine, the audio and quality remain at peak but the frames just start to lag. I have tried dropping the quality settings with no help. During recording my CPU never hits 100% utilization so I don't know if I just don't have the pure horsepower to record or if there's something else up. I use 264 as the encoder because using my GPU just has to big of a performance hit in game for me. Any help would be great
  9. So currently I use a elgato HD60s to record and stream from my PC. Im looking to buy a new monitor but i have the issue of the HD60s having a 1080p max passthrough resolution. I was wondering if I would be able to either run my monitor off of display port while also recording on the HD60 over HDMI? Would it still be able to record if i jsut run two display outputs from my computer?
  10. So i just bought a xr342ck and i have been running into some problems. When using display port i notice flickering in games and some artifacts in game that disappear when i restart the monitor but come back a few minutes later. When i use HDMI the artifacts are not there but the flickering gets worse and only happens in games or when full screen on you tube. I ran the monitor off my IGPU and had none of the pre-mentioned problems. I tested my card on my old monitor and it worked normally so i don't know what the problem is here. I dont know if its a bad monitor or maybe my card is starting to die but any help would be greatly appreciated<3
  11. in your graphic drivers or through an app like MSI afterburner or nzxt cam
  12. if your truly worried about the temps i would suggest to put another front case fan in(blowing under the GPU) and maybe go and make a more aggressive fan curve on your GPU
  13. does the front panel of your case have more mounting places for fans
  14. also if your truly not going to ever overclock your cpu i would get the regular 8700 bc its much cheaper and has exact specs other than a lower base clock speed. I would also get 2666 speed memory as this is the fastest supported with these cpus
